@Tinysnickers in terms of the main Switch (the one that also can be played on TV), no you don’t need more than one console. Just each player to have a joycon controller. It come with 2.
However, with Nintendo Lite, you can’t really play multi player; the controllers are fixed in place to the handheld device. You may then need two consoles and games to play multiplayer, depending on the capability of the specific game.

Bsmirched · 23/10/2021 20:50

@Tinysnickers you'll get 2 controllers with your Switch and there are many games that are multiplayer. You can buy additional controllers if more than 2 people are playing, but you'd only need 1 actual Switch.

@IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts my son has that light, it’s great but the battery life is limited, needs recharging every two days.

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 23/10/2021 20:58

@Christmas1988 good to know! I was actually planning on having it plugged into a USB all the time anyway, but glad to hear it's a decent light. Bought for my DS as well

KokoLoko · 23/10/2021 21:08

Thank you everyone for all the bargains. Can anyone link to any of the Tonie characters on WHSmith? We bought DD the box for her birthday (full price in September, sob) so some bargainous stories would be brilliant and my searching is bringing none up. Thank you!

LittleLego · 23/10/2021 21:15

www.whsmith.co.uk/search/?q=Tonies%20audio%20characters&cgid=&category=All

Does this work? Typing Tonies Audio characters in the search bar brought them up for me. It's unusual to see them discounted

KokoLoko · 23/10/2021 21:31

Oh my goodness, you’re a star!! I searched so hard and failed, lol, and they had 2 of the ones I really wanted for DD. Thank you!!

WhyDoesItAlways · 23/10/2021 21:51

Managed to get Amazon to add credit to my account for the value of the Lego voucher that wouldn't apply so got the Mario starter set for £28.82. Saw it in the Lego shop earlier for £50 so a good bargain but a bit of a faff.

Raindancer411 · 23/10/2021 22:33

I am addicted to the WHS offer and just placed my third order!! They have some lovely usbourne sound books for the cheapest you can get once the discounts been removed. Amazon still want 10.49 each.

Puffinhead · 23/10/2021 22:47
@Onesmallstep67 if you like anything on Etsy make sure you watch or favourite the item, sellers often send discount codes directly to people who have favourited the items
I sell on Etsy and never knew that! Are people expecting a discount code then when they favourite an item? My margins are tight enough as it..

Coronado2 · 23/10/2021 22:50

I'm definitely not, I just use favourites as a saving for later kind of thing, I probably want to buy it but not right now.

Puffinhead · 23/10/2021 22:53

Thanks Colronado2, that’s what I use it for too!

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 23/10/2021 22:56

Feeling smug and accomplished this evening having wrapped and labelled 6 Christmas 🎄 presents and 5 birthday 🎂 presents to be dropped off with my extended family this week when we visit. They live 6 hours' drive away so I thought I'd just get it done and dusted. Thanks mainly to these threads! Ho ho ho! 🎅

Oneborneverydecade · 23/10/2021 23:12

I've also placed a large WHSmith order tonight, so thank you. I've also bought the Hobbycraft igloo and B&M stockings as a result of this thread

For the 1st time in my life I've saved towards Christmas throughout the year. It's nice feeling that we're not going to end in debt after December

I'm looking for advice on the best priced soda stream please and DS15 is after white Air Force 1s (in a size 14 😳) if any deals pop up

Todaywillbegood · 23/10/2021 23:21

Worth checking your M&S Sparks offers. I had 25% off clothing and beauty.

MeredithGreyishblue · 23/10/2021 23:25

@Tinysnickers

Nintendo Switch question for those who already have one please? DS has just put it on his xmas list. I was hoping to avoid for a few more years so I am clueless, we're not a gaming family.

If you buy ONE Nintendo switch console , and plug it into the TV, are there games you can play with more than one player by getting extra joystick things?
Or do you need multiple actual consoles to play multiplayer?

Yep the 2 joy cons it comes with means you can already play a 2 player. Get an additional set and a Mario game and you've got some ace family fun on the TV! Mario Kart or the Olympics
Tinysnickers · 23/10/2021 23:37

Thanks for the answers about the switch.
I don't especially want one at this point but it's getting hard to avoid. DS is 7 and I think he's the only boy in his class with no console in the house.
I was debating a 2nd hand Wii for the family fun value, but now that he's specifically asked for a Switch I guess he'd be disappointed with a Wii.

Midnightshopping · 23/10/2021 23:53

@Chunkychipsohyeah thank you

thaegumathteth · 23/10/2021 23:54

Thanks so much for the heritage Scotland site . Just a note to say they have quite a few Harry Potter things and a few funko pops etc.

Midnightshopping · 24/10/2021 00:05

anyone got any ideas for a girl turning 10 just after xmas i'm making little beauty sets and sewing a little zippy pouch and maybe a little angel doll for xmas for my girls and my nieces but my niece's bday is a few days after xmas.

thaegumathteth · 24/10/2021 00:16

Try code subscribe10 for 10% off at heritage of Scotland

So chuffed too as far has asked for 3 books for Xmas - they came to £50 on Amazon and less than £30 on WHSmith Smile

thaegumathteth · 24/10/2021 00:17

@Midnightshopping what kind of budget? dd loves slime, fidget toys and novelty or interesting lights eg sunset lamp, galaxy projector

Autumnleaves4 · 24/10/2021 00:28

@WhyDoesItAlways

Has anyone managed to get the Lego vouchers to work on Amazon yet? Chat told me this morning to try again in a few hours. There's a set DS really wants at a reduced price with a voucher on top but can't for the life of me get it to work.
Yes I’ve used about 4 of them, I just tick the box apply voucher and the money is deducted at checkout so they can work. No idea why so many having problems but I think someone said they set up a new account and they worked. Can you use another family members email and set up another account?
Ruralretreating · 24/10/2021 01:08

I can’t remember who was looking for cot bed sized Christmas bedding but I just noticed a cute one by Rapport on Brand Alley for £9 (delivery £5.95) or Bloomsbury Mills have one at £13 plus delivery of £3.95 (free if over £20)

Midnightshopping · 24/10/2021 01:17

@thaegumathteth to about £15 the cheaper the better tho because xmas. i dont think sil is a fan of anything messy, so no slime.
