Just curious really, but also searching for ideas. So what are you getting for either yours or others children this year? And ages to make it easier :)

DS 6 - nerf gun and nerf darts, new pjs, book, colouring/drawing set, stocking.

DD 4 - scooter, pjs, book, colouring set, stocking.

DD 3 - doll, pjs, colouring set, book, stocking.

Joint present from FC - nintendo switch. FC doesnt usually bring electrical items but always brings a joint present, im preparing for a winter of being at home a lot so figured something we could all play together would be useful and DS has been asking for one for ages. FC is also bringing them some new board games.

A book, selection box and £10 each. They are overwhelmed with presents at Christmas so I want a simpler present.

Cindi85 · 23/10/2021 12:32

Just bought my 2 a lovely collection of books each (both intended to be shared really). One is the DK Find Out series - an encyclopedia on several topics like sharks, dinosaurs, solar system, animals etc and then the other I got Usbourne Fairytale collection and Usbourne Grimm collection. These will be so lovely to read together, so pleased I found them.

mamaduckbone · 23/10/2021 18:24

All I've got for ds12 so far is a Nike Jordan key ring in a design that he covets but which is too expensive in real life!
He wants a rugby shirt, trainers (real ones but less expensive) clothes, stuff for his new room and a Lego speed champions car.
Ds16 is probably due a phone upgrade so there won't be much else. Stuff for his room (we've just moved), clothes, new headphones...

jamsandwich1 · 23/10/2021 18:45

DS (will be just turned 3)

  • duplo car wash
  • IKEA play kitchen
  • books
  • playmobil recycling truck
  • coat with cars on

DD (will be 1)

  • dozy dinkum doll
  • moulin Roty doll
  • books
  • sensory blocks
  • Russian dolls (Rosa and Bo)

Both have December birthdays too 😩
They’ve got so many toys. I think I might just keep presents to a minimum and then put some money into their savings accounts.

17caterpillars1mouse · 23/10/2021 22:11

@jamsandwich1

Sorry if you don't want advice, but if you have a 3 year old and a 1 year old I'd personally make the IKEA kitchen a joint gift as 1 is also a great age for a play kitchen

hiredandsqueak · 23/10/2021 22:27

For dgs who will be 2 and a half playmobil 123 zoo, a wooden till, Melissa and Doug house with doorbells and keys, some books and something else that I've stashed away but can't for the life of me remember what it is. Dd is buying him a kitchen and a shopping trolley.

@17caterpillars1mouse I was thinking about doing that anyway! Thanks!

HumbugWhale · 24/10/2021 06:42

Dd1 (7) wants either the Barbie or Playmobil campervan but can't decide which. She is also getting Lego, bath bombs, nail varnish set, books, card games, a glow in the dark puzzle, bouncy ball and stationery/craft stuff.

Ds (4) is getting some Hot Wheels track and cars, a toy cement mixer, books, card game, mini basket ball, bath bombs, clip board, paper and felt pens and I am struggling for more stocking ideas.

Dd (also 4) is getting Schleich horse stuff, Lego, football, bath bombs, nail varnish set, puzzle, books, sticker book, mermaid blanket, paper and felt pens.

They will all get pants, socks, chocolate Santa and hot chocolate sachets in their stockings too.

I agree older kids are a bit easier to buy for.

I seem to be struggling for stocking things. Also, 9 month old babies are HARD lol

OP posts:
RestingStitchFace · 24/10/2021 13:50

@LittleTwiglet - is your stocking for the baby or older kids? I never bothered with a stocking until my DS was 3 as he couldn't really grasp it all.

Also, Flying Tiger is good for stocking fillers. Bought highlighter pens, storyteller dice, novelty pens, sweets, floam, slime etc. Cheap as chips!

TheOpportuneMoment · 24/10/2021 13:57

DS is just three. He's getting:

A marble run
A play doh cash register set
A couple of books

That's all so far. Trying to work out if we have the space to get him a shop front with till/money type thing for all his wooden food.

Plus a stocking of little bits - stickers, bouncy ball, chocolate coins, new water bottle, bubble wand, little animal figures etc.

He'll get presents from family members as well - probably paw patrol toys, a Melissa and Doug wooden pizza counter, bath toys etc.

SleepingStandingUp · 24/10/2021 13:58

Twins just turned 2) so between Xmas and Birtbday

Mouse Trap
Random bits for stocking - pokémon figures, minions torch
Minions bag
Cat Kid Comic Club books

Sn0tnose · 24/10/2021 14:06

We’re doing money for all of ours this year, except for my friend’s two year old who is getting a set of 10 little books about different dinosaurs (they’re aimed at that age group, lots of bright colours etc) and a Jurassic Park track from Smyths for £20. It’s got quite good reviews and you can buy more track to add to it.

LittleTwiglet · 24/10/2021 14:13

It's for a 9 month old, nearly 3 year old and 9 year old
