Also joining the happy kindle club. My DDs have had them since age 4ish. They are solid (practically bombproof!), get taken on long car journeys and holidays and at weekends. mainly used to watch Netflix (esp downloads) and YouTube. Wouldn't be any good for school work though and the iPads are probably better if money is no object but for For £30 im not too worried if they break etc! We don't have Amazon kids any more as the girls downloaded a million games and clogged the memory (repeatedly!) -they just ask if they want to download something new so we can check it together first.

@Tinysnickers they're a candle that's got black wax on the outside and red wax on the inside so when you light them the red wax drips down and makes it look like it's bleeding. They're in the Halloween section in Poundland

Kindle fire fans here too. They feel very locked down so the kids can’t access anything they shouldn’t. We replaced ours over lockdown and the newer ones are much faster than the old ones. Not as fast as iPads but they’re also a fraction of the cost!

Also keen to hear of any Smyths discounts. I think they used to do something in the run up to Christmas? Remember it being discussed on these threads but didn’t have one near us then.

Our presents are not put under the tree till a huffing ,puffing slightly tippsy Santa puts them there at about 2am Christmas morning .

Then all the paper gets chucked .(recycled obvs)

For people who make their own reusable gift bags (for use inside your own home, kids etc) do you just make up lots and lots in various sizes?! Trying to work out if it's even feasible here!

Thank you @mumofpickles for the perfume tip - I'd been hoping for a couple of those included to be reduced at some point to add to other gifts, so got 3 brilliant bargains there.

@bizzey we sometimes re-use the Amazon ones for awkward shapes or when I’ve had enough of wrapping up! But we have lots in paper too.
