If anyone can tell me what the argos email for the £10 off £70 spend Argos email was titled, I can see if I can find the email and pass the code on. I was sent the email but can't find it!

@Tightsonmyboat Kindles are sloooow compared to iPads (I also find Surfaces slow as well 🤷‍♀️). Drives me mad but doesn't bother the kids, it's literally only an extra second or so at each loading stage, and it's fine once they're set up on whatever app they're using.

@Tightsonmyboat my daughter is the same - wont use the kindle kids tablet i bought her as it’s too slow and not as responsive as the iPad 😬 apparently toddlers are harsh critics!

Any further ideas of where to buy cheap scented dinner candles - I need an awful lot for a hamper present.

It's going to be for a a friend who is a bit of a goth and likes nothing more than a night in with a dark film. So I found some cheap candle sticks and was going to put in 10-20 candles, some pop corn, a bottle of wine and a black photo frame with a "ticket for a film"

Does anyone know where I can get Tassio Pods cheap? I've seen the bulk ones on Amazon but the work out the same price.

Can I ask what why everyone is crazy about the Hotel Chovolat Velvetiser? Is it the actual machine or the chocolate? Just being nosey.

Kindle Fires are fine for younger kids IMHO, less so when they want to do more than just watch random cartoons. They have limited memory, are slow, and the biggest problem is that the app selection is very limited, so they can’t get some random app their friends have. It was also completely useless for home schooling as really awkward to do and upload the tasks; no MS Word app etc. (though hope to God we won’t have to do that again).

No idea why but i got a MicroScooters catalogue through the door and it had some discount codes in it. I only ever read about them here so maybe someone will find them useful:

Just to add an alternative tablet my son has a Samsung tab A which runs very smoothly
I sometimes use it for working on the go and it keeps up with emails and documents as well

@Tightsonmyboat In addition to what the others have mentioned, about them being slow, I find that the Kindle 7 crashes frequently, with apps that my child will usually use. I have expanded the memory using an SD card, and it still makes no difference.

The 10 model is faster but still has other issues (below).

A lot of the apps that my children like to use such as YouTube Kids and Animal Jam, aren't actually available through the Kindle Store and you basically need a degree in computer science in order to jailbreak the Kindle in order to get the Google Play Store on it.

Every time one of my children says an app needs updating, my heart sinks, as I know that's going to be at least 30 minutes of me swearing at the device.

The free year of kids' content is good, but it is overpriced when the free year expires (£7.99 per month for more than one child).

In my experience the Fire tablets are rubbish. We've had 2 sets of them over the years and they don't improve. They are so slow and laggy and don't support much of what you need from them. I wouldn't bother, even when they reduce them to £30 nearer Christmas. Spend £60 on an Argos one and get 18 months out of it working nicely!

I didn't have a good look, so probably weren't all the styles I ordered. I'm still super happy with my bargains, esp as free returns if I don't fancy any of them.
