@pinkdaydreams I can't link from my phone sorry, but look at direct.asda.com/George then select wooden toys in the filters and you should see them there.
Thank you, unfortunately still not coming up but I'm on holiday and the site looks different to normal when in the UK so I think that's why I can't find the wooden toys

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 15/10/2021 16:53

Hopefully someone more tech savvy than me might come along and post a link @pinkdaydreams.

Our Generation Dolls We have loads. The dolls are quite nice, usually around £30 each. The little accessory sets are nice. The bigger things like food truck and caravan are very expensive for what they are and scale wise they're a bit small for the dolls (though take up a lot of house space) If you did want one I'd try for secondhand, I often see loads for sale around half price that have been barely played with.

@Christmasmcchristmasface@Namechangesagain .. anyone after Oodies.
I have bought my two boys Next ‘fleece ponchos’ which are lovely. Minecraft ones. Also in navy and grey. And a panda print and a mint leopard print.maybe a pink.
They are HUGE. But they aren’t double lined like official Oodies. So one thick fleecey material. They were around £22. Less than half of oodie prices.
I have also got one for myself - age 14-16 and it’s more than big enough. I’m size 10/12, 5 ft 4.
Our house doesn’t get too cold, and the kids are warm beings so these suit us and I would recommended as an alternative. Maybe an option for any struggling to get a primark one

@CatOfTheLand

Please help! Does anyone know where I can get Schleich-size toy horses but with real hair? We got a vintage one for about 10p at a charity shop and now she wants more. I tracked down what the actual item was but they're rare and expensive! Also, this is a foal so most are too big for her farm play set.
Toyland do some flocked ones with hairy tales. They do them on Amazon. They might be too big though. My DD had a cheap set from a garden centre once that had brishable tails and manes
CeeceeBloomingdale · 15/10/2021 17:13

Clearly didn’t proof read that one 😂 tails brushable

My dds have a few with real hair. They are from the tv programme Spirit. Oddly some have plastic hair though. They have those too but prefer the others.

@NigelSlatersXmasTaters

The magnets have arrived. They're tiny Grin

If anyone hasn't ordered yet I'd recommend doing a full sheet per recipient as I did individual ones and they look a bit crap on their own! Probably get lost in the stockings, not complaining for 75p each but still

How small are they? ie what would the dimensions be if you ordered the individual ones and what would they be if you ordered them as a sheet? I was planning to order some this evening, and now I'm wondering if it's not such a good idea...

@dementedma

Gift for young woman, without her mum this Christmas? My friend died in May this year. This will be her family's first Christmas without her. Would like to get something symbolic for 20 year old daughter, without being maudlin or making her even more sad! Any thoughts?
These silk butterflies printed with an image of your loved one on Etsy look lovely: Memorial butterfly

@CottonHeadedNinnyMug cornerstone was the one from about 3 years ago. I got it for DH and he still subscribes, great service

Silversilverstreet · 15/10/2021 18:03

Hot Chocolate fans, upthread @buckeejit recommended the Charbonnel et Walker tins which are £12 in some places but £6 at Lakeland.

I think it’s the same product at Waitrose for £5. The ingredients seem the same.

BonnesVacances · 15/10/2021 18:08

@0ttoline

Can anyone who has bought giant soft toys in previous years recommend any types that have gone down well with their kids? Or conversely if they have not been loved?

The 100cm djungelskog bear in IKEA is very sought after among teens and maybe younger kids too. OOS most of the time and when they get a delivery, they go OOS again very quickly. They're all over Instagram. We have one hiding in our car boot for DD's 20th birthday next week.Grin

winterescape · 15/10/2021 18:09

Those looking for the Primark oodies, there are two Facebook groups on the go for Primark and Disney that will buy stuff for you and post. You need to pay a bit more. I think as an example, the snoopy one was £18 but they charged £25. Both groups are good and well run and done properly via PayPal etc.

Athlebad · 15/10/2021 18:09
@catsarebetterthandogs9 do you mind me asking how you get a 10% off Nintendo code? I’m looking at a switch and I don’t know whether to buy now as they are in stock or wait to try to get a better deal at Black Friday
@Pawpawpaws

There were some really good deals on Nintendo Switches last year in the (early) Black Friday sales. I got a special edition Fortnight Switch with various Fortnite in-game extras for £228 from Tescos. They also had normal switches at the same price. No guarantees they'll do similar, but could be worth the wait (and also worth knowing that the black Friday prices were in place in Tesco a day or two before the date they were advertised to start last year - stuff sold really fast).

theclockticksslowly · 15/10/2021 18:19

Can anyone recommend a s’mores gift set/kit? For my dc. Also has anyone come across a marshmallow toasting/dipping set? Thanks!

mummyof2boys30 · 15/10/2021 18:25

If anyone has an argos 8 off 40 i would love it. Thanks

Pawpawpaws · 15/10/2021 18:26

Thank you for that info @Athlebad that’s really helpful, I’ll try to stay strong and hold out for a deal!

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 15/10/2021 18:30

@Athlebad pretty sure the magnets are 5cm x 5cm as I have ordered them before.

herecomesthsun · 15/10/2021 18:34

I got these snuddies from Primark today (borrowed the pics from ebay), a black one supposedly for men here and a red Minnie mouse one here. They are extremely warm and we are not keeping them for Xmas.

I also got some chocolate medals for being "nice", some reindeer lollipops, tindel hair ties and a very soft Xmas jumper with a bear on it wearing sequin antlers which light up...

Namechangesagain · 15/10/2021 18:36

@MartyDoc thanks. They are for camping so would rather buy slightly more expensive thick ones

MartyDoc · 15/10/2021 19:03
