If you’re posting anything specifically for Reastie please do @reastie or She may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

I'm rubbish at short links hopefully someone can help?

@ItsAllBlahBlahBlah

I'm really confused about school teacher presents. DS has gone to nursery this year and I have no idea how many TAs there are. Sometimes DS says four, but I wonder if there are more. I'm not quite sure what to do
I have done a big "staff room hamper" when I wasn't sure who DC's teachers/support team were - tea coffee herbal tea biscuits etc
ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 01/10/2021 15:22

I guess I could ask but seems abit wierd to bring up to me but maybe I'm overthinking it

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 01/10/2021 15:24

Ah OK thanks @Chocolateteabag I jumped on the papermate pens when they came up a little while back that everyone jumped on for teachers presents but then returned them as I had no idea if I had enough 🙄 DS isn't very sure who all the people are yet

NigelSlatersXmasTaters · 01/10/2021 15:25

@ItsAllBlahBlahBlah you don't have to get anything!

If you want to you can just send a box of biscuits or celebrations or whatever though at nursery age. Once they get into school they have a teacher and a TA usually, possibly 2 and that's when I started individual presents. Just a token gift, I've got the £2 hand creams. Last year was the bargain Christmas candles.

psuedocream3 · 01/10/2021 15:27

@NigelSlatersXmasTaters and @Bicnod You are very welcome.

@ItsAllBlahBlahBlah Box of M&S posh biscuits for the staff room is my go to gift Smile

NigelSlatersXmasTaters · 01/10/2021 15:27

And I think teachers wanting pens and gluesticks is a bit exclusive to MN personally but I could be wrong

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 01/10/2021 15:28

OK thanks @NigelSlatersXmasTaters I think I will do that. I'd hate to buy 5 and find out there are 6 people or miss part timers or something (I'm a part timer and it's annoying when you miss out!) thanks 🙂

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 01/10/2021 15:29

Thanks everyone Smile I have a habit of overthinking... I blame the lack of sleep!
@Grrrpredictivetex If you abandon your basket, they email you with a 15% off £50 code.
Thank you.

NigelSlatersXmasTaters · 01/10/2021 15:40

No worries. A homemade card to all the staff at nursery from your ds stuck to the top of a tub of celebrations is normal here.

Grrrpredictivetex · 01/10/2021 15:51
@Grrrpredictivetex Just found 10% off your first £30 spend - VCLOUD10
Thank you.

Rockhopper81 · 01/10/2021 15:51

@ItsAllBlahBlahBlah

I was going to say a homemade card too - I used to be a nursery class teacher, and I still have an Christmas tree ornament one child painted for me, it goes on the tree every year. Just an mdf Christmas tree he painted and put glitter on, you could do that with salt dough instead?

Or yes, a box of chocolates - we had plenty of boxes/tubs of chocolates (because there were 3-4 of us, depending on the session, and I worked in an area that was quite socioeconomically poor), we just shared them out on the last day of term. It made it fair that way, as our mornings-only TA was in the sharing out process too. Smile

I bought 6 Terry's chocolate oranges (more than the number of staff in DS's preschool room at nursery but thought they could share them with the baby room staff too) then got my DS to draw a picture and make a card for his key worker, and she also got some Friends merchandise (big fan) and Lindor chocolates to go with them.
clpsmum · 01/10/2021 16:09

@WhereTheresAHill thank you that will make wrapping up all these bloody presents more bearable!!! Gin ordered!

RainbowPhilosophy · 01/10/2021 16:09

I've just had a catalogue for Sophie Allport with a 15% off code: HIBERNATE. It looks generic so I imagine it's multiple use.

I can't remember who was asking about retro game console recommendations (sorry!) but I saw this offer which looked good value:

2 Year subscription for £64.80 (print copy only) of Retro Gamer magazine and you get a free welcome gift of the C64 Mini Console worth £59.99. However it seems to only charge the first year at checkout at £32.40 so potentially I guess you could get the free console and first year subscription and cancel the direct debit for the second year.

WhereTheresAHill · 01/10/2021 16:13

@clpsmum 😂 I love the novelty of a giant bottle too!

psuedocream3 · 01/10/2021 16:16

And potentially 13.2% topcashback too

THANKYOU takes 10% (£4.50) off if that helps anyone. Very tempted by the parma violet gin, I bought myself a whitley neil advent last year and loved that one despite not liking parma violets.
SpottyBumPony · 01/10/2021 16:49

Thanks @psuedocream3, I have ordered that for DH
