@AnotherOne4, thank you for introducing us to something that sounded so wrong in the thread title. Also loved the review you shared:
‘ Not only is it decorative, but also quite heavy. If you had intruders you could take them down with this also. Multipurpose’

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

Popped into my local Aldi and they have some Christmas stock out. Mince pies, biscuits, boxed fudge, hot chocolate stirrers, tubs of mini santas & snowman (great for refilling advent calendars) Christmas cakes & puddings. Also had their lovely florentines which I won’t be buying just yet.

YesIcan3 · 28/09/2021 09:24

Yes I can vouch for aldi too! I always get there extra special sauces ect and always fine!

psuedocream3 · 28/09/2021 09:25

Thanks for the M&S heads up. Disappointed with this years offerings tbh :( They had issues with no three/four bird roasts a few years back so I expect it to be the same this year depsite being able to order them, not leaving it to chance for them to cancel last minute. Will have to pop in store and pick up some bits to freeze when they get stock in. Glad to see pinecones are back again.

"Surely "the slits are all gone" has to be a title contender!"

Ugh, please no. Personally much prefer "One of the bikes was stollen"!

Octopie · 28/09/2021 09:35

Thanks for the heads up on Marks and Spencer, I haven't ordered from them before but placed an order so fingers crossed it actually arrives in store!

TuftyMarmoset · 28/09/2021 09:47

Thanks for the M&S heads up - I want to book a slot because the veggie stuff actually looks pretty good but we haven’t discussed with family who is hosting yet! Calling everyone tonight so I can ensure I get my veggie pigs in blankets 🤣

Nanananani · 28/09/2021 09:52

Disappointed with M&S, no pate, no trifle…

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 28/09/2021 09:59

@mum2jakie yes, checked quite a lot!

@NigelSlatersXmasTaters I agree!! The bike was stollen is MUCH better (and more Christmas-y) 🎅🏻🎄🚲🚳

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2021 10:09

The supermarkets also do the same type of offerings, so keep an eye on them in the next few days (they normally release soon after M&S). Hopefully you'll succeed at one of those (might be more selection too).

Ewock · 28/09/2021 10:12

M&S in Milton Keynes have quite a few lightup halloween biscuit tins.

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 28/09/2021 10:17

Petal7 · 28/09/2021 10:20

Thanks for your replies @TheBigFish, @Dolphintrainer and @JanuaryEl5ieBill. Sadly, I am too late! Hopefully Made for Drink will so another sale as their snacks look fab!

My DD will be 9 just before Christmas. Massively struggling on what to get her. She's obsessed with horses and has tonnes of the stuff, doesn't really play with toys anymore. I've got her a sewing machine thanks to recommendations on here and she's getting a hover board go kart thing for Christmas, any ideas would be much appreciated

If she is getting a sewing machine and hover board, that sounds like two decent presents that you only need bits to go with:
  • Sewing box with key things like thread, needles, scissors, pincushion etc
  • Fabric, sewing kit (eg make your own tote bag/cushion)
  • Books (my DS is 8 and will be getting an encyclopaedia and other fiction books too)
  • Board games to play as a family
  • Fluffy throw/oodie
  • Lava lamp, other bits for her room?
herecomesthsun · 28/09/2021 10:53

Oh hover boards

they might like those

how much are they?

1stTimeMama · 28/09/2021 11:07

Major sad face over here, no gluten free vegetarian options at M&S. Well I lie, I could have the Yule Log for starters, main and dessert!

Maranello · 28/09/2021 11:11

Don't forget £10 Tuesday at Boots. Some make-up bundles and skincare in there today.

Jumpingintosummer · 28/09/2021 11:36

@NoWordForFluffy I would love to have a booths here in Scotland!

The gf options on Christmas food from M&S are always dreadful.

Grouch Couch Game - £8

itsonlysubterfuge · 28/09/2021 11:58

@Newdad19 If you have a Costco membership, in store you can buy £100 worth of Build a Bear gift cards for £79.99, it's not the same as a voucher, but it works out being about 20% off. Also the gift cards last ages, because I know £100 worth is a bit much.
