When I was a kid the great escape seemed to be on every xmas day over the years
Have not seen it in years but I always think of xmas if someone mentions it!

dementedma · 19/09/2021 20:41

A friend's Christmas is not complete without "Bernard and the Genie"

Snugglepumpkin · 19/09/2021 20:48

The Jumanji films.

Have a look & you'll see Christmas things in the background of the non game world.

StyleOfTheTimes · 20/09/2021 22:00

We always watch The Goonies, I love it so much!

MeAndDebbieMcGee · 20/09/2021 22:11

Psycho.

The action runs from December 11th - December 20th. Seriously.

Gremlins
Nightmare Before Christmas - I prefer it for Christmas rather than Halloween.

You legend! I don’t know anyone else who has ever seen this film! I absolutely loved this growing up and had it on vcr and would watch it every xmas.
Iampicklerick · 21/09/2021 08:18

I watch Bernard and the Genie every year. I wonder if I’m your mate Grin

MrsLeclerc · 21/09/2021 18:48

@cakey46 we do this too!! I told SIL about it and she does it now too. Lovely lead up to Christmas Grin

DH insists we watch Bernard and the Genie every year.

dementedma · 22/09/2021 19:23

Lampicklerick...if you are a middle aged chap in Scotland, you may well be

wonderstuff123 · 22/09/2021 20:44

The Night Before. Set at Christmas, really funny, great to drink to in an attempt to get really drunk too.
Our Christmas eve tradition, but I'll be going easier this year after I spent all of Christmas Day hanging!

I love The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe too at Christmas - and also at Easter

I adore Terry Pratchett's Hogfather

8dpwoah · 22/09/2021 20:56

Another one coming to specifically say Gremlins 😂

MincePiePrincess · 22/09/2021 21:05

@Soubriquet

Not a film but I enjoy watching Christmas episodes of tv series

Particularly like the Supernatural episodes.

Me too! The ER and the Gavin and Stacey Christmas episodes are particularly good. Though I agree @AlexCabot that The Middle does great Christmas episodes!
lachy · 22/09/2021 21:26

All of you Bernard and the Genie fans, I've been wanting to watch this for years.

My friends dad LOVED the film, and sadly damaged his copy. I've just googled it and it's on Prime!

YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie · 22/09/2021 21:31

@lachy no way!! I was forced to buy a dodgy copy from ebay a few years ago so DH could see it. We too had it on VHS growing up and I can still pretty much quote the whole thing
