Ah, excellent, Woolly!

I would think I'd have something holly berry ish in one of my magazines somewhere if you need me to look?

I'm wading through the cross stitch of the kids. Then I'm going to do a Christmas train one. Not sure it'll get started before Christmas though. I'll have to spend my entire year next year catching up with Christmas patterns!

Those hats are lovely, Woolly. Xmas Smile

Oooh the Poncetastic Threads Xmas Grin
I am disqualified because I buy Aunt Bessie Yorkshire Puddings ( I can make proper ones myself , I made some yesterday in fact )
I'll redeem myself by reading Nigel Slater .

TheWoollybacksWife · 30/08/2021 20:01

That would be lovely Fluffy if you don't mind. I think puss also has hundreds some patterns that might be suitable if I remember correctly so I can always ask if her if you haven't got one that I like very fussy

I really like the initial buttons that are on the hats. There is a local seller that does things like cake toppers and other bespoke items and she made them for me. I'd post a photo of the topper she made for DD2's cake but it has her name on.

TheWoollybacksWife · 30/08/2021 20:06

I've just remembered that she did the "welcome" on my front door wreath.

WreckTangled · 30/08/2021 20:18

Oh I love the wreath!

FireflyGirl · 30/08/2021 20:36

Vair naice Woolly Grin

Think I've been disqualified as well 70. I make my own Yorkshire Puddings out of necessity as we need dairy free ones, but I still haven't finished the fabric advent calendar I started for DS's first Christmas - he's nearly 7 ShockGrin

pussycatlickinglollyices · 30/08/2021 21:06

Woolly narrow it down to what you want/colours and I'll take a look Grin I love the door wreath.

Firefly it'll be perfect for his 18th. 😂

MeredithMae · 30/08/2021 22:27

@NoWordForFluffy showed my DW your photo and she said I’d win Wife of the Year if I made her some proper mince pies. Now, I am a very basic cook but I feel obliged to give it a go!

Also no thread baby from me, due to er, previously mentioned gayness.

MeredithMae · 30/08/2021 22:29

Firefly 😂 definitely an 18th present!

Our lovely chum made DS one of those personalised ones for his first Christmas and I love it so much. But the pockets are teeny.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/08/2021 22:32

@MeredithMae, do you want me to send a jar of mincemeat to you? You then just need to master the pastry! If you have a food processor or mixer with a dough blade, it's easy enough. Do you need vegan pastry? If not, the attached recipe is ace (the mincemeat in the recipe is my favourite).

Lovely wreath!

I can't wait to jump into Christmas planning properly once DH is back to work (2 more days of him at home, not that I'm counting down or anything Xmas Grin )

I'm considering getting 2 plain wicker wreaths, adding some homemade crochet decorative bits and battery lights to hang on the conservatory doors. Does anyone else do anything similar?

I've had a lovely day and am going to bed now. We somehow got roped into taking niece to the park (I mentioned taking ddog to a park near my parents and they begged me to take her for an hour as they'd had her since yesterday morning).

It was nice to have her - she actually squealed when we saw squirrels.
Then we had lunch and watched the new Ryan Reynolds (😍) film. Tired now though.

WreckTangled · 31/08/2021 06:08

It was pitch black when I got up this morning. And breezy with some light rain. Proper autumnal.

NoWordForFluffy · 31/08/2021 07:26

Morning!

Autumnal here too. The air has that crisp autumnal feel to it!

No rain forecast for ages though; send some up, Wreck!

Back to work today. 6 working days, 11 days in total. I predict 200-230 emails.

Ho ho ho

Will I manage to stick around this time who knows 😅

Sorry I have been quiet I'm pregnant again and have been very very vommy again, hopefully I'm coming through the worst of it though! Due in Jan so I'll be a big old Christmas pudding this year!

I agree it is feeling very autumnal here, I went out without a jacket yesterday and deeply regretted it by the afternoon!

What else have I missed everything probably sorry 😬😖

lachy · 31/08/2021 08:28

Congratulations @HairsprayBabe

I would say I can't wait to ba a thread Auntie, but I'm probably a thread grannies Xmas Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 31/08/2021 08:54

Congratulations Hairspray

I need to take DS to school this morning to get his "back to school" Covid test. On our way home we will be calling in at the wool shop - so he will be a happy bunny all round 😂

FireflyGirl · 31/08/2021 09:04

Congratulations Hairspray.

What a way to end his summer, Woolly. Poor boy!

How many emails did you have in the end, Fluffy? When I go back, I'll have been furloughed/on maternity for 21 months Shock Pretty sure no one will have emptied my inbox, so it'll be interesting to see how many I have!

NoWordForFluffy · 31/08/2021 09:05

Congratulations, Hairspray!

I had one vommy pregnancy and one not so much (after a hideous few weeks at about 6-9 weeks it stopped on pregnancy 2).

At least somebody has taken one for the team. Xmas Grin

Fun morning for your DS, Woolly. 🤣🤣

peachgreen · 31/08/2021 09:13

Lovely wreath @TheWoollybacksWife! And congratulations @HairsprayBabe, sorry it's been a vommy one. Hopefully that means you'll get a nice, sleepy, easy newborn... Althouh DD was a very vommy pregnancy (though delightful once that passed) and a refluxy, CMPA, non-sleeping nightmare of a newborn... She was the dream toddler though, so I suppose that makes up for it!

CrazyBaubles · 31/08/2021 10:55

Congratulations Hairspray 👶🏼

Fun day for your DS then Woolly?

Autumnal here too, grey, crisp and breezy. It's lovely, and to top it off, DH informed me this morning (very apologetically) that NFL starts soon so I'll be on my own on Sunday evenings while he watches the games.
I may have made some comments about 'finding something to keep me busy' but really I'm Xmas Grin because Sunday evenings will now be spent Christmas planning / poncing (and crafting obviously) without any interference or comments from DH Xmas Smile

pussycatlickinglollyices · 31/08/2021 11:33

Hairspray 👶🏻 congrats. and thanks for taking one for the team again

Crazy I may have something "wreathy" for you (but in cross stitch, not crochet)

Fluffy my guess on emails is 364. Grin

Woolly I take it you've taught him how to knit?

NerosFiddle · 31/08/2021 13:22

Congrats hairspray

Has anyone seen any new magazines this year? Eason has closed down here and we've no WH Smith so I can't go and actually look at all the mags.

MeredithMae · 31/08/2021 16:32

@NoWordForFluffy thanks for the offer but I'm going to give mincemeat a go myself (and probably use shop bought pastry!)

It's bloody FREEEEEEZING here today. DS insisted we ate our lunch in the garden and my fingers were like ice sticks!

Sideorderofchips · 31/08/2021 16:36

Told the kids that as its the 1st of September tomorrow then if I want to listen to Christmas in my car I will 😂
