I don't have Twitter. Have posted on their fb but by the looks of other posts they won't care.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 11/09/2021 13:30

Who did you buy it from? Try their Customer Service - What are they going to do about it? What are you supposed to do about your insulin between now and 23rd??
Name and shame everywhere.

WreckTangled · 11/09/2021 13:37

I got it from ao.com but they just say to contact the manufacturer.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/09/2021 13:54

Call AO back. They're in breach of contract as your contract is with them.

I'll give it a go fluffy. What if they say they can't get anyone out sooner? I'm not sure where I stand, or should I expect a replacement? I'm struggling with it all today, I've already cried three times BlushBlush

NoWordForFluffy · 11/09/2021 14:44

You're meant to give them the chance to repair after the first 30 days have passed. However, I would think this should be in a reasonable timeframe in the circs. You needing the fridge for your insulin - in my opinion - changes what 'reasonable' means in this situation.

As the fault has happened in the first 6 months, it's deemed have have been there when you purchased it (they would have to prove otherwise), so technically they sold you an already-broken item.

I would go back and hammer home the contractual position plus the 'within 6 months' position as well as the insulin issue and speak with a manager if they're all 'computer says no' about it. They could get one to you tomorrow if they really tried.

Thank you so much fluffy they're delivering a new one Tuesday Thanks

NoWordForFluffy · 11/09/2021 15:25

Awesome! 😁

Well done for standing your ground Wreck. Awesome advice from Fluffy too.

Have you got anywhere to store your insulin safely until Tuesday Wreck?

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/09/2021 15:50

The butcher was handing out order forms for Christmas this morning. Will I be judged for buying 60 pigs in blankets? 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 11/09/2021 15:54

Only 60, Woolly?! 🤔🤔

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 11/09/2021 16:09

The freezer seems cool enough for fridge items and I've got a freezer being leant to me. Only probably is that Tuesday is the one day I need to be out of the house for work... dh will have to come home or my mum hopefully might be able to come.

CrazyBaubles · 11/09/2021 19:18

Great result Wreck. Shame you had to push for it so much though - the mention of insulin should have made them use their common sense straight away!

No judgement from here Woolly - DH and I go through loads of pigs in blankets between Christmas Eve and 28th December if they last until then Xmas Blush Xmas Grin

Bit of a full on day here. The plan was to blitz the house - pull the furniture out, clean skirtings and light switches etc so we started that and my dad turned up. His customer had cancelled his work today as she has COVID so he used his surprise day off to come and put our shed up.
DH was outside for hours helping him while I did the cleaning which was a PITA because it's been boiling today - then my friend asked me to babysit for an hour. It was an emergency and I don't mind but between that, the cleaning and heat today I feel a bit frazzled now 🥵

I've just ordered us a Chinese, lit a candle and am now enjoying my clean house (I'm ignoring the stuff that's in the garden as that's a WIP). Plan to relax and cross stitch this evening Xmas Smile

minichocs · 11/09/2021 19:22

oOOOooOh I love pigs in blankets!!

WreckTangled · 11/09/2021 19:33

That does sound full on crazy! We love pigs in blankets too. I hadn't actually called ao before fluffy suggested it, just looked on their website. I haven't got a bad word to say about them, I explained what had happened and she just said 'ok let's get you a replacement'. I've been buying appliances from there for over ten years and I've always rated their delivery service and now I really rate their handling of this this too, honestly haven't got a bad word to say about them.

Dd has decided she's staying away tonight which is fine but means I'll get less time at the gym tomorrow as usually dh leaves for work 5/10 mins before I get home but with dd not here I'll need to be back before he leaves. Bit annoying but at least I can still go.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/09/2021 20:55

Good result Wreck

I've bought a couple of things from AO ( cooker and a food processor)
Very quick delivery , good prices , but stock goes in/out quickly .
By the time I decided on the cooker I liked it wasn't available .
Then found a different one but could only get the black/chrome not the black/black .

No pigs in blankets here . DS will eat a carbonised chipolata but no bacon. The rest of us are vegetarian.
DH is still ploughing his way through our bedroom, I bought gloss paint and sugar soap fir the woodwork (doing my bit there )

Have a nice relaxing evening Crazy

I went out shopping with DD but I was bloody knackered . It was warm here , shops were like ovens .
Lots of chocolate advents out , they'll be ruined !
I've woken with a bladder irritation (probably not drinking enough) after going for a pee at 3am So glugged loads of water then don't feel hungry . (Too full of water )

That and menopause waves of fatigue . Oh the joys , Xmas Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 11/09/2021 21:16

The shops were roasting here too. Almost died in Currys earlier! Home Bargains was also set to 'furnace'. 🔥🥵🔥🥵

Morning!

I'm knackered...I had a later night than I'd wanted because I watched our amazing tennis champion win the US Open! 🏆 And then sat up for too long afterwards! My body 'helpfully' woke me at 7, which was obviously what I needed. 🙄

I don't think I'll be doing much at the allotment today. A bit of harvesting and that's that! I should get more raspberries for jamming. 😁 It's meant to rain at 11, so I might also get wet. Sigh.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 12/09/2021 08:50

I went to the gym at 7 only to find it doesn't open until 8. Great. Dh is at work and I've put some washing on. Was going to do some baking with dd later but the new tins I ordered on prime didn't come. Royal Mail are lying on their tracking and saying they tried to deliver (the didn't as I answered the door to the postman for another parcel) even though they've only scanned it in Guildford which isn't our local sorting office Confused never have this issue when it's actually Amazon delivering, not sure why they sent it via Royal Mail.

Oh actually we might watch the new Cinderella later. Also having Brinner tonight which I'm excited about Grin

Fluffy is your weather looking nice next week? It's saying 22° and sunny here.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/09/2021 08:53

Top temp 18-19° next week. Mainly dry, but loads of rain has crept into the week's forecast which wasn't there yesterday. 🙄

I hate lying tracking info. So annoying!

What's Brinner?!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 12/09/2021 09:00

I think we're due rain Monday/Tuesday then nice.

Brinner- breakfast for dinner Grin I've got sausages, bacon, pork patties (like the McDonald's ones), hash browns, English muffins and eggs (for those who like them 🤢)

CrazyBaubles · 12/09/2021 13:33

Brinner is one of our meals this week too Wreck, although I sometimes sneak boiled potatoes on to mine .

I've just sat down - DH & I have been in the garden for a few hours demolishing our old shed (the floor and roof were both rotten). We've reclaimed some of the panels though - DH wants to make planters with them ready for my food growing attempts.

It's muggy here and the forecast keeps changing whether we're likely to have rain so I'm going to hang my washing in the conservatory on airers I think....

DH is going out for a few hours soon and my plan is to plan - I have a new pretty notebook so want to use it a bit like a bullet journal, with lists for the jobs we need doing around the house, my version of the HGP, present ideas, things I need to make etc Xmas Smile

minichocs · 12/09/2021 16:07

We're going to watch Cinderella tonight too I think @wreck!

ConstantlyCooking · 12/09/2021 20:01

The tennis was amazing Fluffy. We stayed up too late afterward as well.
Well done Wrecked getting to the gym before it even opens!
We managed some gardening today and finished sorting out the spare room/study.
It is DH's birthday tomorrow so I need to get up extra early the to decorate the dining room.
Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 12/09/2021 20:18

I've made more raspberry jam today, with the ones I picked from the allotment. Plus more muffins for DS.

How do you decorate for DH's birthday, Constantly? Is it a '0' one?

I'm still getting stupid amounts of runner beans...somebody send help! 🙈
