Any ideas for a just turned 6 year old? Will have just had her birthday so most things catered for. She likes super mario, animal crossing, art, barbie, reading, maths, outdoor stuff (I don't have a garden tho), makeup and princesses and animals. She's got a lot of Lego and some Playmobil.

@SIHastingsLiketheBattle does she support a team? Several football fans in mine and DH’a family and I’ve often bought prints from Etsy related to their team - you can search for the team and get artwork of a special goal she’ll remember, or artwork of the stadium. They’ve always gone down well.

Someone asked about football kits - basically, they're just always really expensive. Even more so if you get your child's or a football players name printed on the back. It's slightly better value until they're about 7 as you tend to get a full kit (shirt, shorts & socks) as a set. Some kits we've bought direct from the club, some from Sports Direct, some from random websites. In terms of which kits to buy, the "rule" among my DC's friends (all of whom seem to be football obsessed) is that you only have one Premier League team kit. The exception to this is if both of your parents support different Premier League teams. Otherwise, if you turn up in a Spurs team kit one week and a Man City kit the following week, other children start questioning your loyalty to your team ... or at least they do amongst my kid's friends and they're generally a nice bunch. If is acceptable to have a Premier League team kit and a lower league team kit. You can also have as many overseas team kits as you like (Barcelona tends to be the most popular here but other big French, German, Spanish & Italian sides also common).
When we first starting buying football kits, it was more to fit in and the DC didn't support a particular team so we went for an England kit first and that was soon followed by Barcelona. Once they had settled on a team, then they have had that kit.
New kits are issued every August time ready for the new seasons so you sometimes get discounts on the old kit from Easter onwards but it is the old kit. There is a home kit, an away kit and often a third kit for each club. Some kids will have all three of the club they support, others just the one. The home kit has slightly more prestige than the away kit but we have always opted for the one we like the most. Some of them can be pretty lurid!
I hadn't realised I knew so much or had such strong views on football kits!

Amazon have Iggle Piggle and his boat (musical version) down to £10 from £25. It’s been in my basket for some time waiting for a reduction so very happy.
