The tye dye kit from amazon has arrived. It didn't come in a separate box, so the massive amazon address label was stuck slap bang in the middle of the box.... I've tried to peel it off carefully, but no success and it looks awful! Can't give that as a gift, so I'm sending it back. Do uou know if you can add notes to amazon orders? If I re order this, is there anyway to tell them not to stick the label on the front? The actual kit isn't much bigger then the label....

This happened to my Sylvanian families nursery bus which came this week. I’ve had hundreds of parcels from amazon over the past year which have all come in boxes - typical that this happens to the first Christmas present I’ve bought for someone outside of our household! I’ve managed to get the sticker off over a number of sessions but the box is sticky where it was It’s a gift for my niece so I’m not impressed. My first reaction was to want to send it back but they had gone out of stock so I’ll keep and see if I can find a way to remove the stickiness (without having to buy a product otherwise it isn’t such a bargain!).

@Lolololololol I had same happening and I contacted Amazon through their chat. They gave me £5 off the price (£10). It was a present too.

Weird! My tie dye has just arrived too but in an Amazon box. Sorry to hear about the stickiness!

I ordered a tiny bottle from them last week, and the size of the box it came in was huge! Certainly wasn't expecting it to come un boxed. Good job it wasn't for my DS either, or he would have seen the present!

I've been on the chat, they have suggested I re order and select the gift option, then it won't have any details on. Think I'll do this with every order going forward.

Yes, same - my DC saw it so good job it wasn’t for them really!

@gratedbeetroot (it isn’t letting me quote, I think because you can’t quote a quote?, so sorry for tagging!) if you have any lemon essential oil you can use a drop of that on tissue/cotton bud etc and it gets the stickiness off that labels leave. White vinegar is meant to do the same trick too but I’ve never tried that one as the smell of vinegar makes my stomach turn 😅

Did someone further back make a suggestion about hair straighteners? My daughter has just mentioned she would like some wide plate ones, so recommendations at a bargainous price greatfully received

Thank you, that’s an interesting one! I think I only have eucalyptus oil. I do have white vinegar but would have to test that on something else first to see if the smell disappears

Not exactly a bargain but Cloud Nine have £20 off their wide plate straighteners and offer includes a water bottle and brush. I have these and they are brilliant.

If you use a hairdryer on the labels before peeling, you gently warm up the glue and then they peel off much easier and don’t leave a mess 😊. Great for TKMaxx labels which are otherwise a nightmare!

The only way I can get onto the Amazon bestseller list is through the website on a browser. I can't see how to do it on the app. If you're in a browser look for Bestsellers at the top left - it should drop down a list of categories for you to chose from.

Thank you to the poster that mentioned about Turtle Doves, I got two of the lucky dip fingerless gloves and thought I'd try my luck and put a note asking for a darker shade for one of the pairs even though it's meant to be random. They arrived with a lovely handwritten note saying no problem and they hoped the selection was ok. Fab service and I'm going to get my mum a pair for a present.

If you warm the label with a hair dryer for 30 seconds it will come off very easily with no sticky residue.

@gratedbeetroot I was just coming to comment that in the unlikely event that you have eucalyptus oil, then put a bit on a cotton bud and it removes the stick, and luckily you do! It works great on removing plasters that are stuck on children.
