It's only dd's second Christmas so not something I've really thought about before, but what was YOUR favourite present, for you child? Not DC's favourite in my case.

Dd's grandparent got her some reins with butterfly wings on her back. She cries when I put reins on her or try to keep hold of her hand but loves these ones because it's like dressing up! Winner!

I love when there’s something cheap in the stocking that really sparks joy. This year it was one of those magic tricks with the red ball and the hidden extra lid. DD (6) has been “performing” this afternoon, much to the squealing delight and giggles of DS (3). Lovely Smile

Lego Friends Waterpark! (She's 6 in January Xmas Smile) ⛲️

Ds1 (14) - I love his tea pot for one

Ds2 and 3 (12 and 10) - I love their big snuggly 'teddy bear' blankets

Hawkmoth · 25/12/2020 20:50

Baby Yoda.

It sparked a massive conflict and had to be shut away, but I understand why they were fighting over it. Impossibly cute and baby-sized, I'd have one myself.

Dolls house for the creepy LOLs. I always wanted barbie/my little pony and subsequent houses. I got none. I know they're a little strange, but I love the LOLs as much as the next 5 year old.

AldiAisleofCrap · 25/12/2020 20:52

Their walkie talkies , three for £18 , the played with them for hours. They work really well! Even have a light.

heymammy · 25/12/2020 20:56

Genius Star game for the youngest (I've had loads of goes already!) and Oodies for the teens

MrsLeclerc · 25/12/2020 21:01

DS is also 2 and I’m very much enjoying his wooden train set. I had a great time setting up the track again for tomorrow under the guise of tidying up the living room!

His favourite was a toy story action figure that he thanked for all his presents for the rest of the day Grin.

DominaShantotto · 25/12/2020 21:06

I think DD1 must have got every piece of Harry Potter merchandise going - she's spent most of the day in a Hogwarts robe with a wand discovering that "accio remote control" doesn't work however much you swish and flick the wand.

DD2 - yet more Our Generation dolls - all the stuff she has and she still plays with them.

PolarnOPirate · 25/12/2020 21:06

Ds5 - nat geo fossil dig set which he sat and did for ages and still has some more to do tomorrow. String-pull helicopter whizzer thing. His faves too. Also I love the lovely velour PJs my mum got him.

DS3 - classic rainbow slinky, rainbow maker which goes on the window, baby shark activity tin (again, kept him busy!). He asked Santa for a big Dino which roars and walks, we got one for him and i regret it 😂

Their hoverboards were great and got the dc playing out for ages. I was pleased with them.

isawthatt · 25/12/2020 21:28

Spider-Man lazer gun

InspectorAlleyn · 25/12/2020 21:40

The kazoos have been a massive hit with all of us (including the adults)!!

mum2jakie · 25/12/2020 21:51

Kids are older but Blokus and Pictionary Air were great family games and a hit with all age groups.

YakkityYakYakYak · 25/12/2020 21:57

DD 18 months. Play kitchen, mainly because it’s colour coordinated with my kitchen so looks lovely.

EcoCustard · 25/12/2020 21:58

Ds6 loved his toy handcuffs from his stocking and his Bruder Landrover. He also loves his skateboard.
Dd5 loved her new doll the most and her Enid Blyton fairytale book as it has chapters we can read together.
Dd3 loved her new doll & pushchair and Cat plasters for her vet kit from her stocking.
Ds1 loved his sister’s doll pushchair and the soft ball from his stocking.

Can’t decide if they were disappointed with their other stuff, or loved it.

YesPleaseMary · 25/12/2020 21:59

My favourite? Lego, always Lego.

blissfulllife · 25/12/2020 22:03

A lamp that's a mini replica of the moon

Alarae · 25/12/2020 22:05

DD is only 9 months so she didn't really care at all! Her face lit up and she smiled at her Christmas Stitch though. Chuffed with that as I love Lilo and Stitch and I'm trying to make her a Disney lover

Popskipiekin · 25/12/2020 22:07

I got the 4 year old this and I’m so impressed. He loves it and was fascinated for so long. www.amazon.co.uk/s?ref=nb_sb_noss&k=cubicfun+car+track&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Ah yes my son got 2 of those for his birthday 😄 so one went to my nephew for Xmas. Such a fun toy!!
LooneyLovefood · 25/12/2020 22:28

DS (2) has absolutely loved the £2 slinky I randomly threw onto my Tesco order one day. Oh and the big empty cardboard box that his fancypants ride-on car came in.

He has also loved multiple jigsaws and a chalkboard but has continually gone back to the slinky and cardboard box!

ShellsandSand · 25/12/2020 22:30

Walkie talkies for 5 yo DD. She came down with a temperature and sickness early this morning so they've been a god send for her to call on me while I've been busy downstairs for drinks and general reassurances, and she still got to play cos they were at the top of her list. They are surprisingly clear too. Like security guard quality.
