Sorry if there’s already a thread.

I still need to:

Get a little something for my brother’s girlfriend.
Tidy bedrooms a bit
Clean bathroom
Clean kitchen including fridge
My husband still needs to wrap all of the presents
Collect a couple of food things on Christmas Eve

Hoping this thread might spark me to remember some of the things I’ve surely forgotten!

Quite a bit to do still as have been working up until today. Clean bathrooms, kitchen, and wipe all wooden floors (that sounds like I live in a mansion, I really don’t there is only two of them). Collect the fresh parts of the meals (dh doing that). Get some cards and batteries and do some wrapping. It feels like quite abit but it will be fine

CraftyGin · 22/12/2020 20:15

I’ve never needed to do anything.

RaininSummer · 22/12/2020 20:24

I only have the cooking and laying out of booze options and snack food to do on Thursday. Will prep gravy and dessert leaving just dinner to cook on the day.

chocolatepowder · 22/12/2020 21:15

Make mince pies
Finish wrapping present
Make the cranberry sauce
Make the red cabbage
Clean bathroom
Mop floors
Put up blinds in living room
Put a tonne of washing away
Tidy utility that looks
Like bomb exploded
Tidy bedrooms
Hoover living room
Wash tablecloth
Put on the mulled wine.

LookingAfterLittleArfur · 22/12/2020 21:27

Collect turkey tomorrow
Clean oven 😱 (started the process tonight)
Clean bathroom
Change bedding
Iron (just a few bits that I washed today)

CurlsandCurves · 22/12/2020 21:40

Tomorrow:
Strip the beds, fresh bedding on.
Nail appointment followed by quick visit from our financial advisor to finalise and sign some new policies ( I know, odd time of year but hey!).
Work just for a few hours.
Small amount of shopping, just salad stuff and a couple of bits I’d forgotten. Will do after work.

Christmas Eve
Pick up meat, pork pie and bacon from the butchers.
Fresh bread from local shop.
Clean bathrooms and upstairs
Ironing followed by a quick run round with hoover.
If there’s time get the serving dishes out and give them a rinse over ready for the next day.

Ffsnosexallowed · 22/12/2020 21:43

We've been having our windows replaced - should be finished tomorrow. Working tomorrow and Christmas eve. Have bought most food in, but haven't actually had the head space to think about the day itself. Dining room is like a bomb site, priority is to get that sorted

HermannlovesPauline · 22/12/2020 21:47

Big shop
Gluten free baking - coconut buns and Bakewells
Make chocolate log and trifle
Dress dining table
Put clean sheets on FILs bed

oldsoulrebel · 22/12/2020 22:18

-Ice 3 cakes - deliver 2 locally
-Wrap kids presents ( teens so plan is to do in the morning before they rise from their pits)'
-Nag dteens to clean their pits until I inevitably give in and do it myself
-clean bathroom
-oh shit , just remembered haven't got anything for my niece yet ( tier 4 and actually my ex dh niece so might pass that one to him in tier2)

  • laundry to put away as always
  • change bedding
  • make mince pies and sausage rolls
  • collect meat
  • buy wine , lots of wine
BiddyPop · 22/12/2020 22:24

Wrap Dh and dd presents

Tidy spare room

Tidy dining table

Hoover whole house

ChAnge our sheets

Do a few loads laundry

Deliver presents to 2 other households.

Organise fridge so turkey fits in it

Make breadcrumbs

Make flower arrangements

The rest is things that are not urgent

BiddyPop · 22/12/2020 22:30

Well not urgent as in ice the cake and rollout and bake cookies

We have done the shppping and can manage without leaving then house for everything else - although dd has bought for dh but not for me yet (but is out with Dh yesterday so while I am pragmatic, it would be nice if she got organised with him).

I have lots I'd like to do but nothing that I cannot live without being done.

TheWoollybacksWife · 22/12/2020 22:35

DH will finish cleaning the house and buy some tomato puree!

tunnocksreturns2019 · 22/12/2020 23:34

A few little bits, but mostly I need to call my mum to apologise for being a bit snippy the other day when she announced that my DF is too anxious even to meet us outside (tier 2). She is fed up and lonely too.

DeadButDelicious · 22/12/2020 23:37

Wrap DD's presents.
Do a couple of loads of washing.
Clean playroom.
Clean living room.

Stompythedinosaur · 22/12/2020 23:59

I've got about 4 presents to wrap and I need to hoover downstairs and clean the bathroom.

I'm making gingerbread cottages with the dc tomorrow to be decorated on Xmas eve, and will be various bits of food prep on Xmas eve.

This is the most organised I've ever been, which is just as well as dd1 started coughing tonight and now we are isolating waiting for a test.
