Reallybadidea · 15/12/2020 10:46

myhobbyisouting · 15/12/2020 10:47

Grapes
Olives
Breadsticks
Dips
Salad
Pizza

AcornAutumn · 15/12/2020 10:47

@Reallybadidea

Bread
Definitely bread

Is this a substitute for lunch or dinner?

DunravenBadger · 15/12/2020 10:47

Yeah I agree with @Reallybadidea. Nice bread would be a lovely addition - but then my extended family are massive bread lovers.

DunravenBadger · 15/12/2020 10:48

Other than that it sounds lovely - room for a few more people? Grin

Iamblossom · 15/12/2020 10:48

Ah yes, meant to say breadsticks.

Did think bread but it's only naice when fresh and will I get it that morning, probably not??

Deffo adding pizzas, olives and grapes, excellent shout

Hohomerryxmas · 15/12/2020 10:50

I'd add some bread rolls and pigs in blankets.

Iamblossom · 15/12/2020 10:50

@DunravenBadger you are most welcome if you come prepared to drink with me, and with 15 quiz questions

Iamblossom · 15/12/2020 10:50

@Hohomerryxmas brilliant, do you think PIBs instream of Sausage Rolls?

OP posts:
TokyoSushi · 15/12/2020 10:51

Is it a meal substitute? It's possible a bit light if so...

Bread
Salad
New potatoes
Pizza
Niced garlic bread
Pasta salad

Otherwise looks lovely, but may need bulking out a bit if it's replacing a meal...

FadedRed · 15/12/2020 10:51

Wot no cold turkey? S’not Boxing Day without cold turkey (as dry and tasteless as possible).

AcornAutumn · 15/12/2020 10:52

If you’re adding pizza, great.

Spring rolls and samosas and sausage rolls - treats but the kind of stuff you can’t fill up on.

BiddyPop · 15/12/2020 10:52

Cherry tomatoes and olives alongside the crudites (I have things like carrot sticks, pepper sticks for my dips - my household can't abide celery but I would if they didn't).

On bread, can you get any nice part baked bread ahead of time - just needs a few minutes in a hot oven to make lovely fresh crusty bread on the day. I turn on the tap and literally just run the bread through it to get it damp just before the oven to increase levels of crispiness. And also sprinkle over either sesame seeds or poppy seeds (water helps them stick a little better) before cooking.

Iamblossom · 15/12/2020 10:53

not having turkey @FadedRed Doing Beef wrapped in Prosciutto Xmas Day

New potatoes and garlic bread are great ideas....thankyou

ItsA1WayStreet · 15/12/2020 10:54

Get some part-baked baguettes for the bread.

Boxing day isn't complete without a fully loaded (turkey, gammon, stuffing, cranberry, mayo) baguette/roll.

Iamblossom · 15/12/2020 10:55

Hmm, maybe some pre-cooked prawns and dip....

mermaidbutmytailfelloff · 15/12/2020 10:55

you could buy part baked bread to do that morning?

OhCaptain · 15/12/2020 10:56

Definitely more veg and maybe some fruit?

Also yes you need bread. Breadsticks won’t cut it I’m afraid!

Sparkletastic · 15/12/2020 10:58

Coleslaw
Cornichons
Ready to bake rolls

fairydustandpixies · 15/12/2020 10:58

Iamblossom · 15/12/2020 10:58
