Stocking fillers that are fun but also useful

I like the stockings to contain stuff that is fun but also not just "pointless tat" of that makes sense. It's harder this year when I don't fancy trawling the shops... So looking for online ideas

Past presents that have met my criteria have been things like Smiggle stationery, cool packs for injuries in fun shapes , crazy dice, but I am out of inspiration at the moment

1 boys age 10 and 2 girls age 6 and 12 Grin

One of the best stocking fillers we had when the DS were much younger was plaque disclosing tablets.

That's a brilliant idea!

A couple of years ago. I got my boys one of those credit card-sized multitools each. They still carry them around...

AdventCaroline · 27/11/2020 21:05

Last year Dd1s favourite stocking fillers were a mango corer and a set of nesting lunch boxes.

Dd2's favourites were a shower puff, origami paper and a year's supply of glue sticks.

OhioOhioOhio · 27/11/2020 21:07

Flasks or those chiller cereal type tupperware.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/11/2020 21:11

One of the best things DD once got was a powerbank which doubles as a handwarmer. She always carries it around in the stables to keep warm and avoids empty battery emergencies.

She may get a new mobile case, why shouldn't I buy her one? She needs a new one and I know what she likes.

Key purse for her keys, token for school meals, school library card, emergency money.

She would heavily object against pants due to a Christmas story in one of her books where every child got a pack and they compared them. So she normally gets a crop top/bra/vest for a joke. She uses them and it is just a bit of fun.

T-shirt with a funny slogan about horses or Harry Potter.

We did small fluffy toys like the TY babies in the past.

Pair of simple headphones (in ear) as she always looses them and I refuse to replace them normally.

NeverTwerkNaked · 27/11/2020 22:23

Just remembered another stocking filler that wasn't just tat that gathered dust - story cubes! These have been used so much by ours

There are some great ideas here.

Lego mini figure packs
Collecting cards (Pokemon/ match attacks)
Chocolate coins
A clementine.

Might add a face mask for my older two who are 10 & 12

HelebethH · 28/11/2020 07:25

MessAllOver I am intrigued by lights for the bottom of the bath. Do you mean actually on the bottom of the bàth in the water? Off to google that one

MessAllOver · 28/11/2020 07:29

@HelebethH. I think they're also called underwater light shows or underwater discos...

www.amazon.co.uk/Funtime-LF6750-Underwater-Light-Show/dp/B01LFG8SLK/ref=sr_1_17?dchild=1&keywords=underwater+disco&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1606548402&sr=8-17

Anyhow, it's something like this. DS really enjoys bath time so I'm hoping this will jazz it up a bit for him.
