My mum bought me a tree!

It's been no secret that I've been unhappy with my tree for a while.

It is a black pre lit tree that cost 25 quid in asda 12 years ago. The lights are a weird white and against the black they look blue and I've hated it for a while.

I've never been able to justify replacing a perfectly functioning tree.

My mum bought me a new tree. Its green for starters, but it's so so lovely.

It's probably cheap for some but a complete indulgence for me. £70 from b&q.

I'm putting it now and it's a right bugger due to the millions of branches and taking me an age to sort but I can't wait to see it competed.

I have a lush tree from B&Q! I bought it 9 years ago from the last of my inheritance from my dad. It was £100 down to £50. By chance I'd gone to buy it and found they had a half price offer on their trees. It's still going strong! I used my saving to buy extra lights. It's 7.5 feet tall and takes 740 lights. 😳

Our b&q tree has just been retired after 10 years. It’s been quite wonky the last couple of years so it was time for a new one so yours should last you a good while.

We had to buy our own new tree though (well Dh did with 2 overtime shifts!) Lucky you and so kind of your mum.

They did ask me what I would like.

7 year old DD is adamant I'm not allowed to decorate it without her, it's taken me that long to fluff the thing that its now bedtime so we will complete it after school tomorrow.

I've not really bought any decorations for it, me and the DC normally go to the garden centre to kick off our Christmas activities, we look at all the decorations and pick one each.
They end up replacing older more tatty ones. I have a one in one out system.

I have bought new lights and I'll get a new topper when I get paid.
