What's on your DC's lists this year?

DD(7) picked up an Argos book yesterday that has a Christmas list section in so if course she decided to write one today.

On it she has written:
A medium tall dolls pram
A dolls set with nappies, 2 spoons and toys
A dolls bouncy chair
Chocolate
A bath bomb with a toy inside.

I was quite surprised as she kept showing me things in the book so I was dreading what she was going to write but there was nothing from there on it 🤣

Just goes to show it's not necessarily the fancy stuff they're after!

DS 5 - a new bike. Luckily I got my hands on an Islabike Beinn 20 but it cost just under £500! He wants everything he has seen in TV but he will get some lego and a few board games too.

On the plus side, they sell on second hand for a decent price. We recently sold one for £200, which wasn't bad considering we've had it four years (and I'm sure they only used to be around the £350 mark)

DD(8) asked for:
A Baby Alive doll
Doll clothes and nappies
A kitten (not getting!)
Cat toys (the Cats will get some themselves!)
A cuddly toy
A keyring

DS (13)
Large Pokemon card Trainer and Booster Box

DD3:

• a zoo
• a fairground
• a race track for marbles (I'm assuming that's a marble run)
• construction toys
• paw patrol toys

I did tell her she could only ask for three things but she's an excellent negotiator.

@clairedunphy what about the little live pets although not furry comes in blue blue version?! Or the ££££ fur real parrot, but he's multicoloured. I'm sure there are other moving pets brands animagic is one.

My DS wants a gun ( unspecific) & a cement mixer he saw in the Symths Catalogue! So will probarly go for a basic nerf blaster instead, although he's a bit young as they say 8+

@Aroundtheworldin80moves yes we have already sold his Cnoc 16 for £190. He's still riding it till 6th December when it will go to a new home!

My 2 girls have both asked for Hope the Rainbow Husky, Emotion Pets, the koala Cozy Dozy amongst a mountain of other stuff.
My eldest DS has asked for Nintendo switch games and clothes and books, headphones.
Youngest DS hasn't asked for anything but he's into Bing, cars, animals.

DD10

• Playmobil camper van (our neighbour has bought a very flashy caravan and it caught her imagination)
• Scarf for her favourite teddy (Santa is getting her a knitting kit so she can make it herself as she likes knitting, when she can be bothered).
• An embroidery kit
• "a thing that casts a hologram of a picture onto paper so you can trace it". (I know what she means - not a hologram, more like a reflection - but I can't find a good quality one so I am a but stumped. She uses Osmo Masterpiece which is free with Osmo, but finds it a bit fiddly.)

She rarely succumbs to TV advertising and if she does, I usually succeed in talking her out of it!

Going off topic, sorry, but can any of you whose children already have a switch advise the main differences between the switch and the switch lite? It’s DDs birthday in January and wanted to get her a switch but don’t know which to go for? The only thing swaying me towards one is that the switch lite comes in her favourite colour.

Sorry I meant the only thing swaying me towards one over the other. Not the only reason I want to buy her one!!

The switch lite is purely a handheld console for one person while the original switch can be played on the tv and multiple people can play.

Dd1 is 3.5 and when I ask what she wants she just stares at me blankly, then says something she already owns!

I'm sure she will have plenty of ideas when she's older 😂

@SendHelp30 hey I'm the same. DS has his birthday on 25th Jan! I'm going for a switch as you can use it either through the TV or as a handheld (like a gameboy). The lite is I believe a handheld only.

DS 2 - Barbie and a Jojo and Gran Gran book (that the don't make yet, so have done a photo book with pics 😆)

Tbh, they'll be happy with whatever they're given, and at this age soon forget what they've asked for!

We have bought an extra controller and regularly play together on the tv Means his friends can play with him too when they are allowed back in the house 😬

@rainonarainyday thanks, I'll take a look. After more questioning, it's apparently not an animatronic type thing that she wants, but just big wings and legs that will flap / move when it 'flies'. So I'm thinking something big and floppy would fit the bill. Maybe!

They are allowed to ask for 3 thing from Santa. They tell me this is what they will be putting in their letters this year.

DS (11) only wants a tech deck, Tony Hawk poster, Superdry hoodie and from family the money to build his own new skateboard (can you tell skateboarding is his new obsession). He’s hasn’t noticed that there is a Tony Hawk playstation game so I’m hoping it’ll stay that way and he’ll be really surprised on Christmas Day! Luckily I’ve managed to find him plenty of other lovely presents 🥰

DD11 has asked for a sewing machine, trainers, some decent sketching/colouring pencils and books.

DS9 has asked for a particular Lego set, knex Pac-Man, trainers, books.

They know they always get more but the norm in our house was always that they ask Santa for two or three items, books and “a surprise”. DS will be very surprised when he opens a Nintendo Switch - very much wanted but we had told him he couldn’t have a console until he was 10 so he hasn’t asked for it !
