What would you put on the ultimate Christmas grazing table or all day buffet please

I'd look at the platters on Instagram for inspiration. They're incredible, both in the variety of foods and the presentation.

I'm pregnant atm with gestational diabetes so of course my dream platter would be tonnes of pate, unpasteurized stinky cheese and bread!! 🤤

SomeSmotheringDreams · 26/10/2020 15:31

Is it just for one household? I'm not sure if fancy a buffet in any other scenario at the moment.

If it is, then all of the above plus some hot items, maybe baked camembert and potato skins.

SharedLife · 26/10/2020 15:33

@ColleagueFromMars 😂😂😂

picklemewalnuts · 26/10/2020 15:34

I'm not sure about that image, lovely though it is. How practical is it to serve yourself from, if there's no space around the items?

Findahouse21 · 26/10/2020 15:36

Thanks for some great ideas.

@some at the moment I'm planning for 3 households, total of 8 people. Which is why I'm going for a grazing board because itvss easier to change quantaties last minute, unlike having a huge turkey. Everyone is happy with a buffet - basically us and both sets of parents.

I always do a baked camembert puff pastry star as centre piece - although I use pesto instead of red onion chutney so it's a bit less sweet.

I'm not a natural chef but I've done this for a few Boxing Days now and it looks great and really impressive for something that really isn't!

PurpleDaisies · 26/10/2020 15:38

Do you honestly think the rules will allow three households and eight people by Christmas?

ColleagueFromMars · 26/10/2020 15:38

Oooh and for dessert a sweet platter! Gallons of Nutella let down with some cream and served warm, tesco white chocolate spread done the same, peanut butter, caramel sauce, a good quality vanilla ice cream and lots of nibbley things to dip in them all like pretzels, fruit slices, M&Ms, fruit cake, marzipan, dates, nuts...

Findahouse21 · 26/10/2020 15:41

@purpledaisies honestly I'd say I'm leaning towards no, but hey, a girl can dream.

OP posts:
Findahouse21 · 26/10/2020 15:41

@colleague that sounds amazing. Definitely need to give dessert some serious thought too
