I'm struggling, more because this year has frazzled my brain than because there aren't things I would love....

What are you putting on your list?

I want one of those long narrow hot water bottles, some of them strap to your body! Could prove useful this year...
Exciting huh! Wink
Am very lucky and already have so much more than I need.
I do like to shop for other people though.

@Ginnotgym

Sounds like a good idea. To be fair, I’m usually the hostess with the mostess (lol) when it comes to cooking Christmas dinner but DH has already said he is going to do it all this year! That will be nice 🥰

Oh I also want some fun long sleeved t-shirts. Maybe from Man Who Has It All.

It's my birthday the week before Christmas so not sure which way it will come to me but this year I would like:

Converses
A moonstone necklace
Lampshades (I know very boring 🤣)

@IDontMindMarmite Shrubs, trees, bareroot roses, lots of things are available just not looking their best. I don't mind getting a pot of dormant stalks at all. Something potted up by a garden centre can look jolly eg winter pansies, cyclamen. Vouchers from specialist growers are a great idea too eg for Clematis from Taylors, delphiniums from Blackmore-Langdon, roses from David Austin or perennials fromSarah Raven or Claire Austin.

I've been lucky the past few christmases and birthdays where I really do have everything I want! I think some Woodwick candles, a few bubble bars from Lush, and a pile of books is all I can think of!

I have ordered 3 roses from David Austin Smile

I like anything (except money) - I do all the gift getting for my family and do my Dad's and MinLaws to everyone so hope DH & DB can surprise my with something ?

My list if they asked would include:

Potted hyacinths
A "silver" tea strainer
Warm socks - maybe Alpaca if they wear better than cashmere ones ?
Books - various
Bottle of the chilli chocolate rum to use for my negroni

BeaLola · 21/10/2020 23:28

Ref the plants question earlier:

Can't beat a David Austen rose
Potted cyclamen
A wall basket or hanging basket full of pansies
Winter flowering jasmine
Hyacinths bulbs
Dwarf irises
Amaryllis - last year I ordered some red stems online from Nova Blooms for my MinLaws neighbour - my DH saw them when visiting and said how stunning they were
Viburnum
Camellias for their beautiful glossy foliage

If you live near the recipient you can buy from a good garden centre or a good independent one and then just cellophane wrap and deliver yourself.

Oooh..
Perfume
Clothes
Maybe some new boots
Some pretty silver jewelry maybe a plainish, dainty bracelet or earrings or similar.

It’s only DH and my mum who buy for me really and bless both of them, they usually get it a bit wrong but it’s lovely to be thought of. I think I’m quite an easy person to buy for!
