He's so difficult to buy for this year. He's extremely fortunate and already has

iPad
iPhone
Xbox
PS4
All the games he wants
Air pods
Apple Watch
Air Force 1s
His own PC
Nintendo Switch
Speed Rubik's cube
Gaming chair
Gaming desk
Echo Show

He has Netflix and Amazon and money in his account and credit on his Xbox

So .... everything. He's lucky and he knows it. But what on earth can i get him this year? No experience type things and no Lego. He doesn't read books, only when he has to. Doesn't want to bake. No science type kits. No clothing or aftershave.

Up until last year it was easy as he was very into action figures so he had loads of Japanese anime figures. Although he will be 14 by Xmas, he still likes to 'play' but he's very picky about what with! Wont build anything.

So far I have ...

2 funko pops
A specific poster for his games room

So any suggestions please? Thank you!

Similar situation here (although we don't have the same back catalogue). If there's nothing DS1 wants I don't feel the need to get him a big ticket item so I'm thinking stocking tit tat and not much else. DS2 just had his birthday and didn't want anything so he had a birthday cake and a nice day but no present. The sky didn't fall down. I just have kids that don't want stuff. That's fine surely?

Laurendelight · 11/10/2020 22:10

Fidget spinner, old fashioned pac man, battleships game?

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 11/10/2020 22:19

Just give him money. At 14 that's all I wanted. Save the hassle, get him some stocking fillers.

Radiatornoise · 11/10/2020 22:23

A dog?

fruitpastille · 11/10/2020 22:35

Does he like music? Guitar and beginners book?

He has a lot of tech. What about something low tech? Backpack/torch/penknife. Record player.

thaegumathteth · 12/10/2020 18:03

Ds is turning 14 at Christmas

He's getting
New x box
Beanie hat with built in Bluetooth headphones
Hoodeez (like Oodie but football team themed)
Books
Thumb grips
Maybe a personalised controller

Oneandzero · 12/10/2020 18:06

@MintyChapsticks

He has a bike. Relatively new. Waillllll

He also has a birthday in December. So double the fun

I think it'll have to be a selection of smaller items this year. He's clearly ridiculously spoilt as it is (although he's lovely and appreciative!)

I suspect he never goes on it?
Oneandzero · 12/10/2020 18:07

If close enough

Good “young drivers”. Brilliant driving lesson for 17 and under.

BenoneBeauty · 12/10/2020 18:58

What are thumbgrips @thaegumathteth?

LeGrandBleu · 12/10/2020 19:02

Introduce him to Dungeons and Dragons.

MintyChapsticks · 12/10/2020 19:08

@Oneandzero why do you 'suspect' that? He cycles to school and back, 4 miles a day in total. That help you?

@gower4 you're totally and completely wrong.

Honestly , the assumptions on here are hilarious and I forget that unless you're skint, you're not really allowed to post asking for suggestions. How hard is it to just stick to the question asked for some posters?

Anyway, there's some great suggestions that have filtered through so thank you to the majority - I've added five things on the list which is pretty good! He's a real 'fiddler' when doing homework/ relaxing so fidget type toys are ideal for him

Ignore them OP.

I’ve had some great suggestions on here for my 13yo, so thank you!

MintyChapsticks · 12/10/2020 19:41

@ExpectTheWorst it's tricky at this age isn't it? Mine still wants to 'play' in a lot of ways and isn't sporty bar his once a week football and he'd find clothes and aftershave etc so dull to open. But I've gleaned some great ideas. Top of the list will be the 3 bedroom house that someone suggested of course (possibly upgrade that to a four bed though!)

Inastatus · 12/10/2020 21:07

My DS is the same age and has asked for some weights.

ExpectTheWorst · 15/10/2020 13:36

Make sure the house has a pool, obvs. Grin

obviouslymarvellous · 15/10/2020 14:59

Op we are the same son will be 13 just before Christmas he has most things. Can't believe some of the nasty comments on here - so much for be kind!!! How about a steering wheel for his Xbox or something similar or a gaming chair???

obviouslymarvellous · 15/10/2020 15:03

I see he has a gaming chair so scrub that 😂 boys are so difficult to buy for! Remote control plane or something? My ds has a buggy car which can go on all terrains and has been great during lockdown etc

Aramox · 15/10/2020 15:07

Honestly after last year I am thinking just money. Mine just looks at everything else and thinks 'if only it was the £'. Cash is the thing at this age, not even voucher s freedom. Plus last year I bought a sodding experience, a fab spendy one too, and couldn't use it bc covid. cash and chocolate.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 15/10/2020 15:18

Dw op we have the same issue with our eldest Dc. So far we got:
Apple Pencil
Custom made Xbox controller
New turtle gaming headset
New Apple Watch
That’s it, now completely ran out of ideas.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 15/10/2020 15:26

Oh and some clothes
