He's so difficult to buy for this year. He's extremely fortunate and already has

iPad
iPhone
Xbox
PS4
All the games he wants
Air pods
Apple Watch
Air Force 1s
His own PC
Nintendo Switch
Speed Rubik's cube
Gaming chair
Gaming desk
Echo Show

He has Netflix and Amazon and money in his account and credit on his Xbox

So .... everything. He's lucky and he knows it. But what on earth can i get him this year? No experience type things and no Lego. He doesn't read books, only when he has to. Doesn't want to bake. No science type kits. No clothing or aftershave.

Up until last year it was easy as he was very into action figures so he had loads of Japanese anime figures. Although he will be 14 by Xmas, he still likes to 'play' but he's very picky about what with! Wont build anything.

So far I have ...

2 funko pops
A specific poster for his games room

So any suggestions please? Thank you!

Sounds like my teens. We got the chair and fridge one Christmas for their games room - went down well.
They got new iphones last year, have ipods and ipads already from birthdays etc.
Ordered the new X box X and S series for their joint presents but individually no idea. Just buying for the sake of it tbh. I don't want to get anymore tat and get something useful.

My son will be 15 just before Christmas 😳 and it's a tricky age!

Things that have gone down well last couple of years:

Onesie, novelty slippers
Stove top toastie maker
Smart light to go with Echo
Sponsored zoo animal
Sponsored kennel at dog rescue place (he loves our rescue dog)
Lots of pud in a mug type things
Yard of Jaffa cakes
Posters for his room
Smart watch

I don't want to buy tat or stuff he won't use.

Hard isn't it! Xx

I my ds 14 a kinetic trainer last year. You attach your bike to it and hook it up to ipad/ laptop and tv screen and use zwift app to race people all over the world. You can choose different routes etc. A bit like playing a computer game but you're in it, you can get to different levels get points and stuff. He likes it, which is amazing for him because unless its ps4 or xbox doesnt usually get a look in!

The sponsored kennel may be worth looking into!

Like the sound of the bike thing but we have Peloton and he won't go near it - or his bike half the time tbh!

Stove top toaster maker sounds great but we have a conduction hob

Hi I have a two ds 14 and 13. My 14y is slowing building up a collection of transformers (the siege ones) they look good as a collection and also good for fidgeting hands. My son makes stop motion movies with them which is pretty cool. My 13y has asked for led lights for his gaming area and the new call of duty game (pre order). A few other ideas are posters, board games, bags, American sweet gift box. Gift cards?
B&m have pringles and pot noodle gift tube things that look good to make the pile look better.
I hope this helps x

Hoverboard? Gaming keyboard and mouse? Board games? Remote control car or a drone?
My DS14 loves to draw so I bought him lots of art stuff last year such as good quality pencils, paints, a lightbox, 'how to draw..' books.

I got my 14 ds who is fidgety a fidget ring, a ring that he wears and fidgets with when he needs too.
Oodie here too for him and I think he wants music
Decks this year. We always make sure we buy a toy every year as he gets older, so this year it’s a hover ball thing, last year was nerf gun etc.
He was isolating recently and really wanted to fish out his old tech deck stunt ramps and skateboards (but I’d given them to charity) so I may get him a tech deck board.

Wacom tablet
Blue yeti mic - this was a huge hit with my 15 year old. He talks to his friends, records YouTube videos with good audio, etc.
DLSR/ Go pro
Electronic drum kit
Electronic keyboard (the ones you use with computers, not sure if they have a specific name)
Hoodies. Apparently you can't have enough.
Razor/shaving kit subscription
Software subscription - music/animation/illustration/gaming/etc

This year my 15 year old is getting a wacom tablet upgrade and I don't know what else to get him. Going to reread this thread for ideas.

Oh also, my teenager is constantly nicking my 6 year old's nerf guns. It's the only "toy" he's bothered with!

@Clymene do you get up extra early to practice being so witty? You're aware that people on mumsnet are all different yes? With different budgets etc.

He's very lucky, he knows he's extremely fortunate to have the many nice things that he has.

Magnetic stones is a yes and also the tangle fiddle toy. I'm intrigued by the mic too and think he may enjoy that

Not sure about the charity gift? Would you have wanted to open an oxfam goat aged 14? Probably not. Sponsoring a dog kennel is on the list though thanks to this thread

I just find it terribly sad to be only 14 and not have a burning desire for anything and not to ever know the satisfaction of saving to get a Thing that your family could buy you if they wanted to. Those things are so much more precious.

I had a lovely lie in today, thanks for asking Smile

I’m imagining this kid getting a three bedroom house for his 18th, you start big you have nowhere to go after a few years

Who knows

I'm with @duletty. He'll be one of these kids for whom nothing brings pleasure.

Is it a normal TV he plays his games on? We got ds a curved gaming monitor last year that went down well.
