Has anyone seen any Christmas magazines out yet? GH get ahead for Christmas is usually out in August but I haven't seen it yet.

I do have a lot of Christmas magazines that I've collected over the years so probably don't actually need anymore.

Magazine? Do you mean book, @SundayReilly?

merrygoround51 · 06/09/2020 09:28

@PennyDreadfuI

I subscribe to Readly - it's £7.99 a month but they always have offers (I think you can get two months free trial atm). They've got all the back issues of magazines on there for the past couple of years so you can read all the 'old' December editions and they've got plenty of standalone specials too (crafting/nostalgia etc).

Much cheaper than buying all the individual magazines and less wasteful, plus you can screenshot any recipes/ideas (I do this and put them in a Christmas folder).

You see, I just would have to have the Christmas mags in my hand !

I finally got one!

@NerosFiddle thanks so much, reading my own copy now [fhgrin]

NoWordForFluffy · 13/09/2020 21:05

I'll have to find that one, Neros!

BirthdayCakes · 16/09/2020 12:17

I've got the new Country Living Christmas magazine (not the December issue) but it clearly states on the front 'A collection of festive features from the Country Living archive' so nothing new to see - booooo!!

Kirstos1 · 22/09/2020 21:27

I picked up the 'Your home Christmas made easy ' today and it seems to have a bit to read in it 😊

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2020 21:06

You can buy the GH Christmas Collection direct from Hearst with no postage charge.

Pansypath · 28/09/2020 09:33

There were loads in Sainsburys on Friday

Teacup34 · 28/09/2020 10:07

I have found my people!! I thought I was the only one to hoard Christmas magazines. My husband doesn't understand either when mine come out in september 😂 I've been waiting for this year's so will be off to pick some up later when I go shopping!!

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 28/09/2020 10:10

I used to love them and would buy all the main ones each year. And end up mainly disappointed. Now I buy a Christmas cookery book or two each year (often from a charity shop) and look out for Christmas craft/decorations books too

everythingisginandroses · 28/09/2020 18:50

@NoWordForFluffy - thanks for the link, GH is the one I look for every year!

HalloBrian · 28/09/2020 18:58

My October Country Living Magazine came with a leaflet for Good Housekeeping Christmas bundle that includes their cookbook and 6 month subscription starting with December issue. I've ordered it and am very excited.

I was ill last December/January with a bug that turned into a horrendous chest infection (maybe coronavirus?) and felt like I missed out on Christmas.

This year, I plan on making up for it, with as much Christmas baking, decorating, cooking and making as I can fit in Grin

BaconAndAvocado · 29/09/2020 19:23

Oh wow! That Homemade Christmas magazine looks magnificent.

I will go hunting for it tomorrow.👍🏻

HalloBrian · 30/09/2020 13:12

Look what has arrived through my door! Good Housekeeping Christmas mag and the cookbook! I'm so happy!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2020 16:17

Is that from the subscription package, Brian?

everythingisginandroses · 30/09/2020 18:28

That looks sooo good, @HalloBrian - I wish I hadn't restrained myself and just bought the mag now! Xmas Envy

HalloBrian · 01/10/2020 07:54

Yes, it was the subscription package. I'm quite chuffed with it. Spent yesterday evening leafing through the cookbook. There's so much that I want to try!

BaconAndAvocado · 01/10/2020 22:28

I bought the Homemade Christmas magazine and found it a bit underwhelming......

TheGirlWhoLived · 01/10/2020 22:32

Simply Christmas is excellent, and country living Christmas has some excellent property porn!

inappropriateraspberry · 01/10/2020 22:36

Just received it myself! Got the subscription for my mum's birthday present, and I get the extras! 😉
