@AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings Have you checked FB marketplace, seem to be quite a few near me so could be worth a try.

Mrsfussypants1 · 04/08/2020 07:42

Valiah scout has a british accent! I remember reading an article a while back about American children developing a British accent after watching Peppa pg.

I'm looking for a photo book to give to grandparents with pictures of the kids. DH has recently lost his job and I'm on maternity leave and so money is realllly right this year. They're more expensive than I though!

Have you tried Groupon? That’s where I order ours from. Plus it spreads the cost a bit as you pay for the voucher for the book and then pay for delivery when you actually put the book together.
bookish83 · 04/08/2020 08:03

@mcgonagalscat

There are always discount codes floating around for snapfish and photobox. Or sometimes if you add to your basket and leave there you might get a code emailed!

Photo box hardback books are great quality and I'm pretty sure I got a 40% code for it xx

@ClaraLane

Can someone give me the Duplo link please so I can do what a PP suggested and pop it in my basket for when it next goes down in price?

My Rex London order arrived today and it’s fab as always. Got some plates and bowls for the new baby (coming on Friday!) so DD doesn’t think Father Christmas has forgotten him. Also stocked up on some birthday cards, place mats and coasters for them both and some temporary tattoos for her stocking.

Those of you talking about Tonies, I think DD (Just turned 3) and DS (soon to arrive) will be getting one of these to share for Christmas www.yotoplay.com/ I like the look of it more than the Tonie box and think it might last longer.

We have a Yoto player and find it brilliant. It's really sturdy and easy to use. It was a gift from grandparents, so I didn't look at other options, but I definitely recommend Yoto. It has a daily changing kids podcast and music 'radio' button with a very eclectic mix of music. My kids love it. Also, book chapters are really easy to navigate as they each have a little picture icon that appears on the front of the player, so my 3yo can find her favourite bits (and listen again and again and again Confused)

Thanks for the great advice re the lottie dolls. I'll try to keep an eye for sale/discount and order some for the dds. A shame I can't buy them here.

FreePrints do free photo books on a monthly basis, you just pay postage and have the option to add pages, upgrade to hard cover if you want to pay a little bit more
FilthyforFirth · 04/08/2020 08:20

Hey @mcgonagalscat download the app Photobooks. The books are free and you only pay for postage. They are really nice and I have used them a lot over the years. I love a good photo present!

ClaraLane · 04/08/2020 08:46

@0ttoline Great to know about the Yoto player, thank you!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 04/08/2020 09:18

scanner20 I've just ordered the lol clubhouse too, your right it might sell out considering the price (compared to the rest if the range!) I did it on the entertainer using the jakks birthday code so got 20% off. Fingers crossed my daughter doesn't change her mind 😂

Those who haven't joined you can add lots of children to get 20% off codes throughout the year for the entertainer online. Their online chat or Facebook messenger are very helpful if the codes aren't working properly.

Scanner20 · 04/08/2020 09:34

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts that's great, I don't know about those codes. I did think the same but she will love it. They have some dolls coming out which have the same theme so hoping I can pick up an extra one when symths do the £10 off.
I'm also waiting on the Argos offers as I always add in a few new out toys with the bargains. I think we are definitely on the lol route instead of barbie.

Scanner20 · 04/08/2020 09:43

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts I logged in and I've signed up but never had any vouchers through. When do you get them? Like two weeks before the birthday? I used to get elc ones when my dd was young.

superstar84 · 04/08/2020 10:26

I missed the slime deal, please let me know if you see it come back on

Would be perfect for a small gift from the naughty elf on the shelf as the kids know I hate slime!

wailedAndNearlyLevitated · 04/08/2020 10:28

@Mommabear20 thanks for that link, some amazing sounding courses on there! I have also just purchased the midwifery one for myself! Was tempted by one of the doula courses too.

ValiaH · 04/08/2020 10:58

@Mrsfussypants1 Thanks! Thats fab, so many apps and games and tv shows are US based these days that it was becoming a bit of a problem.

For anyone looking for Sylvanians, the Tram is reduced in Argos to £19.99 if they have stock near you, but also Jacinabox have it for £22 and it goes with the Gelato shop that was reduced in John Lewis and Argos, the pieces interchange.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 04/08/2020 11:01

scanner20 the vouchers usually come through 3 weeks before the birthday. If you haven't recieved them contact them on Facebook messenger or the little pop up chat with us. I did that and they sent me a new code straight away.
My daughter likes barbie and lol, she loves the omg dolls but they are sooo expensive even second hand. She has a real mixture of dolls and furniture/cars - enchantimals, monster high, disney descendants, bratz, my little pony, shopkins, lol and a couple of barbies! If you need furniture or cars the shopkins shoppie doll plane is the perfect size for regular lol dolls, so is many of the accessories and playsets. And wooden dolls house furniture is perfect scale, we have bits from flying tiger (recently a little ice cream parlour), lidl and elc rosebud.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 04/08/2020 11:03

scanner the arcade heroes dolls are already in stores, i saw them in tesco. Expensive but handy you can see which doll you are getting from the front of the box. My youngest daughter really wants the girl one and my eldest (11 and going to secondary school!) wants a few too!! Going to wait on an offer or until the entertainer get them in and use another birthday code!

InDreamland · 04/08/2020 11:38

@mcgonagalscat I use the Free Prints app, they also do photobooks. One free photobook every calendar month for £5.99 p+p. If you want to upgrade to larger, hardbacks, more pages etc you can pay a little extra but the basic is great, I recently done one for my parents and they love it. I'm also on maternity leave so very pleased I can get these for so little.

icedaisy · 04/08/2020 15:12

@InDreamland I've just got free prints free tiles and free books. Is there a way to cross order? So in my left hand side it shows I have 1 free tile, 45 prints and 1 book. When I go to change to the free prints it wants to move to that app.

So is that three times delivery, which is fine or am I missing a trick to do the whole lot on one delivery?

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 04/08/2020 15:13

@ClaraLane none near me and none that will post! At least I've now got loads of time to look.

Think this present is for me rather than my toddler tbh

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 04/08/2020 15:14

@ClaraLane ohhh that H&M giraffe is fabulous. Might have to get it! Thank you!

Darn it! Hope you find one soon. Have you got a zoo with a gift shop nearby? My daughter is obsessed with the giant snow leopard I got from my local zoo years ago Grin

InDreamland · 04/08/2020 15:26

@icedaisy I've found I have to switch between the 4 apps so have to pay separately for p+p. If someone can tell me if I'm missing a trick though I'd me most grateful. Would be cool to save on p+p too.

I forgot to mention that for my first photobook order I was given a complimentary upgrade to the hardback photobook which was nice. I presumed that they offer this to all new customers.

PinkDaydreams · 04/08/2020 15:37

I’ve just picked this up from sainsburys for £4.50. Comes with 30 items too.

Christmas 2020 summer bargains!
