Who has started getting ready for next year especially with all the sales online and in the stores? All the Christmas pyjamas and fragrance gift sets are perfect to horde because they’re staple gifts.

Me! I have tags and a couple of gifts for LO. I'm struggling to find a good king size duvet set though :(

Winterdaysarehere · 27/12/2019 10:36

I have a Xmas money tin.
£80 in already!!

reluctantbrit · 27/12/2019 10:51

Nothing apart from cards and wraps if I am short. I have no idea what DD and DH may ask for next year and I don’t hoard presents for eventualities. Luckily we only buy for us, DD and our parents so no real need to start anything.

cryingcatmeme · 27/12/2019 11:08

I only buy the staples at this point like Christmas pyjamas, non-food advent calendars, smellies, fuzzy Socks. The ones always given during Christmas. And Christmas jumpers for children who will still want to wear them.

I've got xmas day outfits for the kids already, found in the sale on xmas eve. We also have tonnes of wrap, dh bought about 40 rolls on ebay last year so we're still working through that. Same with tags, we have hundreds. Going to pick up cards if I see them, and pjs too. And I'm starting a supermarket saver thing this year too.

CathyorClaire · 27/12/2019 11:19

Got a set of reduced crackers yesterday. That's it so far but I'm just warming up Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/12/2019 13:45

I bought a couple of things from Lakeland ( Iiked them this year but didn't get round to buying them, so when they were in the sales ........)

cryingcatmeme · 27/12/2019 14:16

I should get some Christmas crackers as well, and napkins, and possibly crafts. Boots is so amazing but everyone else has the same idea of shopping online. Good thing I was able to nab some Superdry stuff for the boys for next Christmas. Plus fragrance gift sets for everyone.

I've ordered some wrapping paper, gift bags and tags, and a new card hanger. I bought for January birthdays before Christmas and bought for one February birthday in the sales yesterday, that's me done for now.

YuletideFairy · 27/12/2019 16:57

Me! I popped into B&M today for cleaning things and found Christmas PJ’s (£2 a pair) tree baubles, tinsel and gift boxes in the sale aisle. I picked up 10 pairs of different children’s size PJ’s which will all go to our local food pantry next year.

MegaClutterSlut · 27/12/2019 18:31

Yep I've started already. I start boxing day as I have a large family and not much spare cash so the sales help me out a lot

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 27/12/2019 18:51

I bought myself a Christmas duvet set for £6 in dunhelm today. I haven't bought anything yet for next year, this year I kept picking bits up throughout the year and dds had loads. they loved it all but was rather over the top, we opened some gifts today as they had so much!! still got lots of cards and paper left so won't get any in the sales just need a duvet set each for dds.

MulberryPeony · 27/12/2019 20:30

Seasalt jute Christmas bags for reusable wrapping. M&S sale wrapping paper for wrapping larger kids presents. I don’t tend to buy for Christmas a year in advance but do have some birthdays winter and spring that I’ll be on the lookout for.

MovinOnUp · 27/12/2019 20:45

I'd like to get some Christmas pyjamas to put away for next year.
Any links?
Looking for age 10-11 and 12-13.

cryingcatmeme · 27/12/2019 21:41

For pyjamas, Next had some good ones but I’m not sure if there’s any left. For the older kids, Hollister has great ones. My DS13 fits in the XS Men’s range.

Pushes cake into the cupboard (Christmas Cupboard 'natch) with the "Morcambe and Wise Christmas Special" on a loop until she withdraws the reporting Mwah Ha Ha

livingthegoodlife · 28/12/2019 17:34

On the look out for Xmas tags, cards and crackers. Anyone seen good cracker deals? We used up our last stashed box this year.

Also Christmas jumpers for 2 girls.

Not bought anything yet!

PhantomErik · 29/12/2019 15:08

Just bought a set of 1000 warm white lights to go around the lounge for £15 reduced from £30 & a large nutcracker for £7 reduced from £15 (I've wanted one for ages!)

Was looking for a pack of crackers & some more baubles as well but nothing grabbed me.

I'm still dithering over a lovely dressing gown for youngest ds in next years size from Debenhams & keeping my eyes open for unisex pyjamas that are suitable for Christmas but not exclusively so red & white stripes or red tartan etc

Bansku19 · 29/12/2019 17:20

I just got two rolls of Xmas paper. I won't buy any fragrances beforehand because I had a bottle of Angel perfume that went bad.

BentNeckLady · 29/12/2019 17:23

I won’t start shopping yet as I quite enjoy doing that at the time but I’ve set myself up an note on my phone with do’s and don’ts on which will pop up on the 1st December 2020...

Not very exciting but..

Do’s

Have beef Wellington, mash and greens
Buy some more interesting Christmas decorations from JL
Re-use the present bags in the loft
Try making wrap from news paper.
Ginger cheesecake
Use small tree for living room until b&q trees are reduced.

Don’ts

Have turkey & the traditional Christmas dinner - remember how much you don’t enjoy it
Make a Christmas cake
Buy a Christmas pudding
Put the Christmas tree up really early ( b&q were half price on the 20th)
buy wrapping paper

Whattheduck · 29/12/2019 21:50

Managed to pick up a few bits in Boots yesterday and some family Christmas cards from Clinton’s
I have a storage box in my garage so I store my bits in there to either use for birthdays or christmas

beepbeeprichie · 30/12/2019 14:22

I’ve got some good bargains in The Works today- little colouring books for 75p, a game for £2.50, some Santa themed books for £1 each. Stuff to keep them amused in December 2020 and easy to pop into the loft. Smile
Superdrug has a few bargains- lovely big rainbow set of body/ bath stuff with a sponge for £5. And some nice Sanctuary stocking fillers that will keep too.
