We have garlands , and just little bits here and there . We don’t have bright things , more delicate stuff and lights etc so it looks like we haven’t got a lot out but we do have quite a bit . More little ornaments than anything !

Maykid · 25/11/2019 19:26

I have 2 styles of Christmas village, snowmen, Santa’s, angels, candles plus Christmas linen.

stucknoue · 25/11/2019 19:31

Just a nativity scene, some candle holders and a couple of garlands

livingthegoodlife · 25/11/2019 19:32

Tree ornaments about 2 crates worth. Garlands for staircase and hallway mirror, random mini things eg reindeer, snow globe etc. Probably at least another crate worth.

I like the "really useful" storage boxes.

Maykid · 25/11/2019 19:34

Oh yes, snowglobes, I have a couple of them too.

Apart from the tree? Nothing! We go out on Christmas Eve and pick holly sprigs to deck the halls, but that's it.

Maykid · 25/11/2019 19:37

I love my Christmas bits but sometimes I find it all a bit of a burden, especially as I get older. Do I really need Christmas tablecloths and towels ?

Mostly fresh so not a huge stock cupboard full.
Tree decorations are either inherited, linked to memories of places we’ve been or made for us.
A willow tree complete nativity.
An Italian Presepio
Candelabra that are only for Christmas.
A Waterford punchbowl which is filled with various Lindt chocolate balls and baubles every year.
A few giant clear glass baubles that are hung from rafters at different heights to allow lights to shine through.
Homemade advent calendars.
Homemade stockings.
An advent ring
Three very large Murano vases in deep red and green.
Aga covers
Tartan tablecloth
Otherwise wreaths I make,
Garlands I make
Winter flowers
Candles aplenty.

Cherry yours sounds lovely.

Ooh, I want Christmas bed linens now... 😆

I have 2 trees, plus tinsel, loads of stockings, and stuff h tg at hoes on the cake. I used to have more bits, like a teddy-bear house that lit up, but I don't know where it's gone. ☹️

AnuvvaMuvva · 25/11/2019 20:00

stuff h tg at hoes should be "stuff that goes". Why is autocorrect so bollocks now?

FacesLookUgly · 25/11/2019 20:07

I store mine in Really Useful 35l boxes. I have about 15 that are crammed full Blush

Maykid · 25/11/2019 20:08

Faces - Blimey, I thought I was bad!

Two trees,
Garlands, or as they are known here, the festive swags, on three downstairs fireplaces
Six short swags/garlands over doors in the hall.
Wreath on front door,
Battery lights on the two bay trees by the front door and red ribbons.
Garland looped up the banisters
Festive hat for the suit of armour.

Bluewavescrashing · 25/11/2019 20:12

Mini wooden tree for the kitchen
A snow globe and some small santa / penguin ornaments
Felt advent calendar
Star ornament for the front window
Outdoor lights
DH chooses a wreath made of real leaves etc
Christmas tree train

Only the wooden tree and train are new this year. Baubles etc are always reused. CBA with tablecloths, duvet covers, tea towels, crockery so we just use our normal stuff.

I like the idea of a garland but won't buy one. It's more plastic hanging about.

I'm very excited about the Christmas tree train Blush

I’m almost ashamed to say that I even decorate in the bedroom.

Fresh tree every year, I love the smell
A billion baubles bought over the yrs, all over the place
Candles on the mantle, and dinner table
Hall table decorated with a mini theme each year
Outside decorations....and embarrassed teenagers! 🙄🤣😂

Maykid · 25/11/2019 20:36

User what’s your mini theme this year?

This one page of posts has the most eye roll worthy stereotypical MN responses ever;

"Festive hat for the suit of armour"
"Aga covers"
"Hand picked Holly sprigs on Xmas Eve only"

SlatternIsTrying · 25/11/2019 20:59

2 large artificial trees. 1 decorated with colours and one with silver.
1 medium tree decorated with jewel colours
2 smaller trees in each DCs bedrooms which they decorate (I close my eyes)
2 medium sized black Xmas trees (left overs from a Monster High themed birthday party)
Loads of Christmas ornaments
2 wreaths. 1 artificial, 1 homemade
Loads of other random Christmas things collected over the years.

This year I have bought Christmas bed linen for the first time.

BananaBooBoo · 25/11/2019 21:01

Oh god a lot! Two mantle piece worth of garlands, lots of candles, three large light up reindeer, stair decorations, a fake snowy grotto with lots of white animals, stars on every door, robins, holly, outside hedge lights and topiary lights, xmas duvets!

GiantKitten · 25/11/2019 21:05

I have loads! Apart from the main tree in the living room I have a twiggy tree in the dining room, the kids have a 4ft artificial tree in their room and we have a tabletop tree in our bedroom. Then I have a garland for the stairs, several table decorations, a reindeer decoration for the kitchen, several ways of displaying cards, a playmobil nativity and penguin slide for the kid's room and a train that goes around the Christmas tree. My favourites are some branches that I the across the tops of the windows in the living room and dining room to hang baubles from and a collection of small wooden squirrels that get hidden around on too of picture frames and on shelves. Not to mention the outside decorations!

I take my decorations seriously!

Howmanysleepsnow · 25/11/2019 21:13

2 trees (one in each lounge)
Paper chains in front lounge.
Paper snowflakes hung from ceiling in back lounge and hallway.
Christmas village on hall table
Garland up the bannister.
Wreath on front door
Wreath in kitchen
Loads of candles
Fairy lights in both fireplaces
Large basket of pinecones and fairy lights

ParkheadParadise · 25/11/2019 21:15

About 3 large boxes.
When Dd2 was born, my DH bought a train track and built it in our house all through the livingroom into the kitchen and back out into the hall way. It had a sleigh that dd sat on and played bloody jingle bells on a loop.
Thankfully she is too big for it now, I gladly gave it to my nephew for his son. I spent years watching dd whizz by as I was trying to watch coronation street 😆😆😆
