I second the Valvona & Carolla panettone! Love the fruit one and we get a big one each year and a smaller chocolate one. Love them. Light airy sweet fruity. Delicious. Coffee and a wedge any time of day. Makes it all very Christmassy

I live in Italy too and can't stand it - although I've only had cheap ones. Does it get better if you go up in price? Toasted it tastes like hot cross buns but not as nice.

it's not dry if you get a decent one. Don't scrimp on it. M and S is lush as is Harrods, that one is actually amazing!

So you’ve given me the idea that choc chip is nice but also I like lemon so I’m going to try find a lemon one too. Toasted sounds scrummy!
