This year, my family and my close friend (and her family) are having breakfast together on Christmas Eve.

I'm asking for breakfast ideas to make it feel festive, please.

Disclaimer: I bloody hate eggs and salmon!

We do/did

French toast
Belgien Waffels with whipped cream, hot cherry sauce or chocolate sauce
Pastries, Waitrose does great bags of croissants, pain au chocolate and pain au raisin, either normal size or mini versions
DH sometimes does himself an egg benedict
Scrambled egg with bacon or sausage
Brioche, either plain with strawberry jam or a chocolate one

Processo, hot chocolate with cream, tea to drink

Nah, you are all wrong. Make sure you get a takeaway the night before then, before anyone else is up, eat the leftovers straight from the fridge whilst standing up in your dressing gown (that way there is no calorific impact).

Then serve any/all of the lovely suggestions above to your guests Grin

We do savoury croissants. Fillings include ham, cheese, pickles, sundried tomatoes and marmite. I just fill a platter with various options and let people choose.

Followed by a warm mince pie with whipped cream.

Chocolate and banana French toast?

If you type in Christmas breakfast ideas and go onto the BBC food sight they have some lovely ideas.
