Sorry about the John Lewis code folks, thought I’d found a decent offer.Blush

vroc81 · 07/10/2019 20:34

@friskybivalves I’ve just sent you one for Cotswold - I’m sure it’s the same but just for a different society...

Stolenidentity · 07/10/2019 20:45

Just a reminder of a popular gift from years gone by, for harder to buy for men. The grid it holds cables and mobiles and gadgets and can be popped in a bag for traveling. Some websites do cheaper versions, like Ali Express.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 07/10/2019 20:52

@KittyMcTitty yep, gave Pmed you x

DelurkingAJ · 07/10/2019 21:00

I was actually in Cotswolds in real life at the weekend and they had some walking shoes and boots in the sale (which was delightful as I needed a pair and DS2 contrived to behave for five minutes because he was enchanted by the idea that my feet weren’t growing anymore).

Someaddedsugar · 07/10/2019 21:05

@friskybivalves I've sent you mine too - sorry it's taken so long!

Sunshine196 · 07/10/2019 21:06

I need ideas for my dh, we are on a strict £50 budget this year if anybody has any. He's a gadget geek, loves beer & choc. If anyone sees any interesting looking ales plse let me know.

As a random aside & this is possibly tmi but I'm loving the dr b soaps. I'm finding using them instead of my regular shower gel is keeping me feeling fresher all day.

Whatsername7 · 07/10/2019 21:10

Thank you for the lego friend link, dneice is sorted!

buckeejit · 07/10/2019 21:28

@Sunshine196 could you get a tour of local craft brewery with a couple of bottles to wrap, hotel chocolat selectors, and something gadgety - electric hot water bottle, amazon echo dot, smart plug, wireless headphones?

princessbear80 · 07/10/2019 21:32

Hello puppy calling haha that takes me back!

Sunshine196 · 07/10/2019 21:34

Local brewery tour is a really good idea. I'll look into that thank you. It's probably safer than me trying to buy him gadgets. No doubt I would get it wrong!

Sunshine196 · 07/10/2019 21:35

I don't know what a smart plug is though so I'll investigate that.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 07/10/2019 21:36

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 07/10/2019 21:37

@Sunshine196 Tesco has a Christmas ale in a gift tube for £2.

I got my DH a star wars pale ale which comes in a box with matching glass for £6

Sunshine196 · 07/10/2019 21:40

Oh thanks @ClosedAuraOpenMind I'll have a look.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 07/10/2019 21:44

@Sunshine196 someone posted earlier about some craft ales on offer on Wowcher if they're any good?

This one seemed like the best price

Don't know much about craft ales though

SquintEastwood · 07/10/2019 21:47

@Bluewavescrashing - I had blocked that song out but recalled the tune and sang your words in my head as I read it... the kid who used it is 13 so that shows how often I had to bloody hear it 😂

Sunshine196 · 07/10/2019 21:49

@PaddingtonBearHardStare thank you that looks like a good one for my dad.
@buckeejit I've found a local beer tour so I think that's hubby & brother sorted 😀
They are great pals too so will go together.
This thread is amazing. Thank you for the ideas

Not on the high street have these Personalised Map christmas baubles for £9.50 free delivery. Something different for those hard to buy for people. They include a piece of map of a special place with a personalised tag.

woodwaj · 07/10/2019 22:22

@Sunshine196 have a look online for the wooden geek. They are offering free delivery at the moment and could do some personalised coasters to go with some beers? They do loads of things though

Sunshine196 · 07/10/2019 22:23

@RemoteControlling what age do you think these books would be suitable for? One review says suited to younger children. Do you think an 8/9yo would be too old?
