Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@Bluewavescrashing my ds at that age loved Galt Octons - watch their price on camelcamelcamel as it shifts. Currently about £9 on Amazon or £15 for the super octon set...
super octons

Even though dc are now at senior school, I leave these in the playroom as they still get fiddled with when there are kids (and adults!) over Grin

wibbletooth · 18/09/2019 14:36

Is anyone else getting Christmas adverts for odd things on this thread?
Just had 40% off offer for a silk pillowcase to give as a present (no mention of actual price though!).

Best/worst are these Christmas rugs and runners... no price again but 😱. They are so bad and tacky that they’re almost good. Almost. Definitely not good though GrinConfusedGrin

Good to hear @MrsLem. I was just coming to leave a message for you saying they'd responded to my FB message within 10 minutes so it was worth contacting them again if you still hadn't heard but obviously irrelevant now!!

They are reprinting and sending me two new sacks and I am welcome to keep the other two as an apology for the inconvenience Hmm. If anyone has an Elliot I have two spare Santa sacks Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 18/09/2019 14:44

@wibbletooth, yep, 'delightful' runners here too! The kids would love them! 😂😂

CupCupGoose · 18/09/2019 14:46

Got this through the post today from l'occitane, I tried to post this before but I can't see it so apologies if I've double posted!

PepsiLola · 18/09/2019 14:58

@wibbletooth I've been tempted by the amazingly tacky Christmas shower curtain on sale in Matalan 😂

Whitecandle · 18/09/2019 15:10

@balalalala what warnings?? I can't see the whole thread for some reason...

GreatBritishbakeofffan · 18/09/2019 15:12

@Chocolateteabag good idea about the Facebook pages for toot toot. I'm all for reusing!

I haven't got Facebook though sadly!

Isadora2007 · 18/09/2019 15:23

Sorry as it runs out today I am putting this code for matalan on here rather than try to coordinate via pm

Ooh what are the stocking like you got from landsend please @Reastie was it the needlepoint ones? If so, could I trouble you for a photo? I’ve been looking at them and really like them, and wondered what they were like size wise. I was going to get the Matalan ones but a) one dd is petrified of fur and b) they don’t have a Z on the website!

I know poundlands do have quite a bit of Halloween stuff in this past couple of weeks, not that I ever leave the house but I’ve been shamelessly watching Poundland hauls on YouTube for no reason at all.

flapjackfairy · 18/09/2019 15:46

I don't know if anyone has pointed out the Terry chocolate oranges at Tesco for 75p. There is a years shelf life on them so I have bought mine today for the stockings !

Pixie2015 · 18/09/2019 16:20

Last year In December i tried to buy a door wreath hanger with no success - today spotted them in home bargains so had to buy alng with stocking hangers and a chocolate orange 😜

Awrite · 18/09/2019 16:21

Reastie - there was loads of Halloween stuff in my local Poundland in Saturday. I'm in Scotland.

Also, some Christmas stuff. Not much but I picked up some beautiful wrapping paper.

Bluewavescrashing · 18/09/2019 16:28

Ooh Octons are a fab idea! Thank you.

@Bluewavescrashing if you are still looking for a present for the 3 year old, i saw a toy story bowling set for £7.50. we have a similar one (not toy story themed though!) and my dc liked playing with it from that age x

sleepismysuperpower1 · 18/09/2019 17:07

poundtoy.com have got some good stocking fillers including LOL surprise and star wars :)

BlueOooChristmas · 18/09/2019 17:13

Ho ho hello everyone! Decided it was time to venture back in here as I want to get Christmas sorted earlier this year (sick of the last minute shopping).

My first question of the season - which make is the best fitness tracker for kids, garmin or fitbit? Then has anyone seen any offers on them?

If anyone has a Tesco near them check the Lego Disney Minifigures out some stores have reduced them to £1.50 - great stocking fillers.

Gustavo1 · 18/09/2019 17:33

@Vebrithien very restrained!!

NoWordForFluffy · 18/09/2019 17:37

I also have 4 chocolate oranges! Xmas Grin

Honeywort · 18/09/2019 17:53

I have lands end needlepoint stockings for my two - though I bought them when they were babies years ago. They are beautiful quality but they aren’t huge and obviously aren’t stretchy. You can definitely get a boxed Terry’s choc orange in right down to the foot and I’ve put rolled up t shirts in, but not really items bigger than that. For our family that works really well but I guess it depends what sort of things you like to put in stockings.

Honeywort · 18/09/2019 17:57

Here’s a pic of the velvet back of the needlepoint stocking with a glossy mag for scale. The velvet is midnight blue not black like it looks in pic

Am I dreaming it or did somebody link to a little zero waste trial box with shampoo bars and whatnot in it? Not the MSE deal, or the Holland and Barrett, it had little heart shaped bars in. I just have a vague memory of seeing something.
