Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

That free gift looks quite decent. My first order free gift with Boden years ago was a little cheap notebook. Although I am going off Boden a bit, they often have no free delivery code like they used to and the prices seem to be going up and a lot of the clothes I find quite meh atm.

That boden free gift looks about right. My mum ordered year before last as a new customer and the free gift was a leather make up bag/pouch worth £30. Pretty nice but nowhere near worth the full price. I can't imagine they sell many of those items anyway so quite smart to use them as free gifts. My free gift when I first registered was a lovely umbrella.

But I agree with Reastie the prices just keep creeping up and the quality is def not what it once was. I ordered some socks for DS, I've been buying the same ones for years and these ones just felt so cheap in comparison. I am after a coat for DS though so if anyone has a £10 code they won't use I'd really appreciate a PM.

FastAway · 10/09/2019 13:02

I just pretended to be my mum and placed an order, no free gift came up even though the code said I would get one.....

Thegirlhasnoname · 10/09/2019 13:14

FastAway the free gift didn’t show up on the payments page but it accepted the code, gave me the discount and free shipping. The free gift showed up when I got an email saying it had been dispatched. Hopefully it happens the same for yoj

Can anyone recommend a dolls house for my dd. She'll turn 2 a week before Christmas. Ideally I'd prefer a wooden one rather than plastic.

Tiredsahm84 · 10/09/2019 14:04

The Asda dolls house is really good, you can usually pick it up with the large furniture set for £50

Dd had it 2 years ago and it's still in great condition

She uses the mini barbie style dolls that Asda sell in it, think they are called something like sparkle girls

Elphaba17 · 10/09/2019 14:08

Fastaway, try looking in your order history. It should itemise everything that will be in your parcel when its dispatched.

Nerosfiddle, we have the blue wooden dolls house from Asda and it's beautiful. Great quality and it's survived a lot of not so gentle use. My niece also has the pink version from asda and again it's lovely and has worn well. You should be able to get both on a 20% off offer in the run up to Christmas.

The only thing I didn't like about the asda range was the furniture and people. We got Melissa and Doug people and some reduced elc furniture sets for It.

PinkDaydreams · 10/09/2019 14:16

I keep reading that people are buying little ones wooden kitchens/dolls houses for Xmas. My little one turns two in January, he’s not showing any signs of pretend play at the minute. Not sure whether to take the plunge with a kitchen or not, would it be too early as he isn’t pretend playing? ( He does like banging the pans, carrying the cheese grater and skating the sieve across the floor 🤦🏻‍♀️ )

sparkle789 · 10/09/2019 14:18

Ewock unfortunately I’m really far from Biscester but thanks.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 10/09/2019 14:31

@Becles thank you!

whatwillicallmyself · 10/09/2019 14:33

Hi can anyone recommend a portable DVD player, not too expensive as I have to get two of them. I have looked on Amazon and there are so many to choose from and mixed reviews so I wondered if anyone had one they were happy with. Thanks a million.

georgialondon · 10/09/2019 14:33

@PinkDaydreams I'd go for it!

73kittycat73 · 10/09/2019 14:54

Thanks JoHo123, willo look into that! Xmas Smile

NerosFiddle · 10/09/2019 15:13

Elphaba, thank you. I think I'll go for the blue one.

Pink, go for it. We got a wooden kitchen last year and it's played with nearly every day.

PinkDaydreams · 10/09/2019 15:19

He does like taking the tins out of the cupboards too. Right then, I’m now on the hunt for a bargain wood kitchen! Had a look on eBay but there aren’t any. Not on fb

Jammiebammie · 10/09/2019 15:51

Thank you @MyIncapableOne and @imsorryiasked for the hunter ideas. Sadly I’ve to get plain red ones, my fault as I agreed thinking it was for the first style wellies which were cheaper, going to have to bite the bullet 😫

imsorryiasked · 10/09/2019 16:10

@Jammiebammie £23 + £4.50 mainland postage here
Or £24.99 +£3.50 here and they say they'll price match
Haven't checked for cash back or discount codes.

beccarooney · 10/09/2019 16:17

Thanks for the tip on the bracelets Elpheba - just ordered 3 online. Was £3.50 postage but still cheaper than driving to my nearest Warren James and they will make nice gifts. I also ordered the sample beer case 2 days ago - arrived today (I ordered it direct and via TopCashback)

  • Mumsnet bargains thread - you have trained me well :)
Ewock · 10/09/2019 16:30

Margaritasby thesea thanks for the tip never used CCC before so I've just set it up. Just annoyed with myself more than anything!

Jammiebammie · 10/09/2019 16:43

@imsorryiasked thanks for the links but they’re not working, can’t find a 7 on the first site and they’re £32 on the second.
Little trekkers ive found for £32 delivered, and dd has just text to say she’s got a 20% code for the actual hunter website which takes them to £32 but will have to check what postage is. Didn’t think I’d ever get so stressed over willies Grin thanks for your help.

Jammiebammie · 10/09/2019 16:44

Erm, wellies, I’m stressed over wEllies Blush

imsorryiasked · 10/09/2019 16:48

@Jammiebammie sorry must be because I linked to the check out page. Photos attached. Hope you manage to get some rubbers 😁

I nominate 'never thought I'd get so stressed over willies' as the next thread title! 😁

imsorryiasked · 10/09/2019 16:50

Mmm I can't see photos.

So try magrigg.co.uk and garden4less.co.uk

Jammiebammie · 10/09/2019 16:51

Haha thank you @imsorryiasked 😂 they’re the first style sadly and I’ve to get the next ones up. Just realised I’ve to pay for next day delivery now too so I’m just going to order them and chalk it up to experience - I won’t do that again!
