Afternoon!

In the absence of @SideOrderofChips (I hope you don't mind me jumping in, Chips Flowers ), here's the first bargain prequel thread of this year.

Use this thread to post any bargains you may have until @Reastie comes back in a few months' time! Xmas Grin

To be fair you might not manage to get 24 gifts for a pound each... so it's not bad exactly.

sideorderofchips · 14/08/2019 16:54

I guess it’s an each to their own thing. Even though we are Harry Potter mad here I think it’s over priced
For what it is

Jammiebammie · 14/08/2019 17:03

The Harry Potter one I was talking about is the funko pop one, I think it’s good value as buying the pocket pops individually cost a LOT more, and you get the full cute set! Tempted by the funko HP one for myself, but dd is marvel daft so I’ve pre ordered her that one.

Ah the Funko one
My
Mate got last year. She said it was good. I’m looking for the Lego Harry Potter one

Thegirlhasnoname · 14/08/2019 17:18

My Oliver bonas order just shipped and I’m hoping the scarf isn’t as nice as you all say otherwise I might have to keep it for myself 😅

Jammiebammie · 14/08/2019 17:18

The Lego HP one looks really good too chips I think you get 6 mini figs in it and some cute Xmas accessories, good to add to the other HP sets if you have them. Think that’s £24.99, they have a preview of the price at very but no stock yet.

sideorderofchips · 14/08/2019 17:48

I’m hoping it goes on amazon as well as I don’t pay vat on there 😂

EvilHerbivore · 14/08/2019 18:44

Oh a Lego Harry Potter advent calendar would be perfect for DS1 - thanks for making me aware that they exist!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2019 18:51

It's worth looking at Ocado. They've all sorts of random things in the half price section, like dressing gowns!

There's too many things to list, but worth a browse.

@evilherbivore

They are new out this year!

BestofLuck · 14/08/2019 19:05

I’m looking forward to the Lego HP calendar too. Had Lego City last year and was going to try Star Wars but now they’re bringing HP into the mix ds will enjoy it.

BestofLuck · 14/08/2019 19:11

Incidentally, talking of Harry Potter, just noticed have up to 20% off HP Lego sets. Imagine may be a few better offers in autumn, but worthwhile if you want to get sorted early doors.

BestofLuck · 14/08/2019 19:12

Whoops! Managed to delete word Smyths from my post, key bit of information there!

Jammiebammie · 14/08/2019 19:33

Talking of Lego, I really want to get dd1 (she’ll be 17 but who doesn’t love Lego Blush) the friends tv show Lego set when it comes out, dd2 the stranger things one and dd3 the a far from home set, but I doubt very much I’ll get deals on any of those sadly, will keep my eye out though and perhaps get a small saving on Black Friday.

Debenhams have a sale on just now if it hasn’t already been mentioned. Across the site, but up to half price on toys and up to half price on some beauty too. Worth a gander here

Tiredsahm84 · 14/08/2019 20:11

You might do well in the Argos 3 for 2 on those Lego sets

banskuwansku · 14/08/2019 20:22

I have been Lego hunting since new year. I got dd's new Lego friend sets already reduced prices. For ds I have got four sets with very good prices. Dd doesn't need more but ds will probably come out sets he really wants. I try to get them in Black Friday then. Ds loves Lego.

I have bought reduced price Lego from Argos -50%, Sainsbury’s-30% and Debenhams -50%.

PandaAtTheZoo · 14/08/2019 20:31

Not sure if it's been mentioned but the Sylvanian Families Hot Dog van is £9.99 on amazon Link

UrbanMage · 14/08/2019 21:46

Thanks for the Maia gifts link: two "grandad's measure" whiskey glasses ordered for my dad and stepdad from DD.

Givealittlebit · 14/08/2019 22:14

@Thegirlhasnoname sadly the scarves are just as lovely as everyone said! I ordered two, went back to order myself one when they had arrived and all sold out! So now have to decide who is more worthy - me or someone else 😂

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 14/08/2019 23:50

those who are contemplating the funko advent they are brilliant. my daughter got the Harry potter one last year (November birthday!) and has played with the characters constantly since and in between had on display. only downside was 2 rons/harry/Hermione rather than all different characters. I've ordered the new one for her birthday this year.

small bargain tip, always check the new/used on Amazon as sometimes there's a warehouse deal cheaper. I got dd2 the lol biggie pets for £12 instead of £30ish. and some Harry potter lego. only fault is the box is a bit damaged.

oh and pusheen fans check out tkmaxx for plushes down from £18 to £5.99. we've got dinosaur, lion and Dragon pusheen in there.

Letsgetreadytorumbleagain · 15/08/2019 08:41

I saw lots of reduced craft bits reduced in Sainsbury's yesterday, selling of their 'keeps the kids entertained' section. Paint your own money box for £2 and other similar things.

Also Tesco are selling stationery half price in the back to school section. Big pack of crayons magic pens half price and loads of other bits

EvilHerbivore · 15/08/2019 08:59

Friends Monopoly is a good price right now

Morning everyone, M&S are having a 50% off summer sale x

spiralflower · 15/08/2019 09:40

Thanks MrsCrimbo, I hadn’t had an email through yet. School summer dresses are included so I’ve managed to stock up for next year!

MouseRatFan · 15/08/2019 09:56

Just ordered a Vtech super star move microphone for dd5 from Ocado. It was only £11.99 in the clearance.

I am confident I will live to regret this..... Grin
