Afternoon!

In the absence of @SideOrderofChips (I hope you don't mind me jumping in, Chips Flowers ), here's the first bargain prequel thread of this year.

Use this thread to post any bargains you may have until @Reastie comes back in a few months' time! Xmas Grin

And pink ones here

Someaddedsugar · 27/07/2019 20:40

Playmobil blind bags are 99p in Argos - might make good stocking fillers

minervahames · 27/07/2019 22:09

good price on Taittinger fizz, £25, usually at least £35.

Evening Folks. So happy that the prequel thread is up now. It's not summer unless I'm planning for Christmas Grin Just a reminder of some of the companies/websites that have had good deals in previous years and so are always worth checking out intermittently:

Lisa Angel
PACT coffee
House of Marbles/World of Marbles
Bargain Max
Toys for a pound
Poundtoys
Wilkos - not a fan of their delivery charge but they usually have an excellent range online and I bought their Blox Lego at a fraction of the cost in the online sale last year.
Super drug - they are one to watch! Three for two offers very often and free gifts on occasion plus cardholders get free delivery over a small sum and they have lovely gifts in around Christmas.
L'occitane have lovely scents and bath items which make wonderful gifts when on three for two. I highly recommend the small bottles of scent.
Forbidden Planet is another and usually cheap delivery.

I'd love to hear other people's recommendations! Happy hunting Wink

Emiliemoo · 28/07/2019 08:20

What are people's experiences of toys for a pound and pound toys please? I'm not expecting anything special in terms of quality but was thinking about stocking fillers. Would you recommend? Xx

TakeMeToYourLiar · 28/07/2019 08:36

Thanks for forbidden planet tip. Got some great stuff for DH.

Toys for a pond generally pound shop/ wilko quality

hoopdeloop · 28/07/2019 09:37

I used toys for a pound for a lot of stocking fillers, found it was great, had some things that don’t always appear in my loca pound shop.

I can’t do the link, but check out the Argos eBay store, some great buys including a 6ft inflatable giraffe (I know how some love a huge toy Wink)
They also have the Playmobil amphitheatre set I posted last year for 11.99. It comes in a massive box and my little boy loves it. (I love it too, I act out monty python scenes with it Grin)

Bumbleumbo · 28/07/2019 10:39

I followed this thread last year and it was super helpful. I’m already quite ahead of myself with stockings almost done Smile.

Hawkins Bizarre currently have last years pre-filled stockings for £12.99 and if you sign up for their newsletter you get and extra 10% off. They contain £50 worth of items which I plan to share between DD’s existing stockings.

I've just had an email from buyagift.co.uk & they've sent a code for 23% off if anyone is thinking about buying an experience or spa day!
Code is CRMBF2GOXU3HO

BrylcreamBeret · 28/07/2019 11:51

Toys for a pound have always been well received here, there are pages of higher price toys etc too do there's a variety. I found a drink bottle three years ago that is still being used now :)
I forgot to mention Magpie, they were very popular on here last year with excellent sale prices.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/07/2019 12:46

Magpie stuff was brill!

Forgive me if this has already been posted, but I have a code for 10% off the National Trust online shop. The code is "SUMMERNT10" (without the quotation marks) and is valid until 13 August 2019. I saw it in the paper, but have not used it myself so I don't know if it is single use only or if there are any excluded items. The terms and conditions didn't address either of those points, they just stated it was valid until 13/08 and online only.

I hope it may be of use to someone.

Jfw82 · 28/07/2019 15:18

Secret sales has 50% off anything in the Outlet if you order tonight with code EXTRA50. Needs a lot of trawling through but some good stuff in there

Emiliemoo · 28/07/2019 17:28

Thanks for the feedback about toys for a pound I've found a few things that I think I will be ordering for stocking fillers so I'm pleased about that Smile

Hi everyone! Checking in for this year under a new username. Hoping to get done and dusted by the end of November to enjoy December but I say that every year and haven't managed it yet...

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but this website is a good one to keep an eye on for Yankee Candles:

www.yankeebundles.com/?orderby=price

I got a bundle from there after seeing it on HotDeals and was impressed. They have a 5% code if you subscribe to their newsletter and also did a 10% code over the weekend which I missed or would have placed another order.

Some of their candles are the inferior (but still nice) Home Inspiration range. Some good bargains to be found plus quite a few Christmassy variations.

www.yankeebundles.com/product/3-assorted-classic-pillar-candles/ £12

www.yankeebundles.com/product/santas-treat-sparkling-cinnamon/ £10 (these are Home Inspiration but 4 for £10 in Christmas scents - thinking of these for teacher gifts but haven't made my mind up yet)

www.yankeebundles.com/product/3-for-all-moods-pillar-candles/ This is the bundle that I ordered and was very impressed. It was £10 when I ordered about a month or so ago though so may have been on a special offer.

Free delivery too.

Jfw82 · 29/07/2019 14:28

Sylvanian Seaside Cruiser House Boat is on Amazon right now at £29.99. Sylvanian Bakery is an absolute bargain at £26.66.

TheHammaconda · 29/07/2019 16:15

MINI bottles of champagne for £5.80

Gingerkittykat · 29/07/2019 16:25

Yankee candles gift set for "20 from Tesco with an RRP of £40. I've thought about buying a couple to put away.

KavvLar · 29/07/2019 21:42

Re - toys for a pound. I have just received an order and can recommend the following bits and pieces - all good stocking fillers and look nice quality. The mermaids and the wrist huggers are particularly cute.

Picked up the Atari Flashback 8 Gold console in Argos today to put by for DS’s Christmas - we stayed at a cottage at Easter and he loved the retro games console that we found in a box there, so hoping this will be a hit!

£79.99 down to £27.99 - which is probably what my DM and DF paid for my original Atari in 1982!

Thanks FreedomFidgit got one for DSIL's birthday.
