What presents did you get the best reactions to this Christmas? My 3 year old boy loved a wooden castle with knights and dragons figurines. Think he would actually have been happy with just that although tree blocks and his own set of measuring scales went down very well too. How old are your children and what did they love the most? Already after ideas for future years 🙈

My almost 2 year old grandson loved his die-cast monster tonka truck. My other 2year old grandson loved his Henry hoover and his cuddly dinosaurs

Notso · 26/12/2018 22:16

18 year old, MacBook. She wasn't expecting it, I (meanly) told her she was an adult now and we've just insured her car for her so only getting stocking fillers. Hid it at the back of the Christmas tree and she was so amazed.

14 year old mini Nintendo thing, I bought on a whim in June. He loves it.

8 year old Boxer Robot, I only bought it as a twitch on Christmas Eve but glad I did. It's adorable and brilliant.

6 year old DS tiny beany boo penguin keyring and a miniature magic 8 ball from a blind bag. Neither have left his side since Christmas morning.

Great thread - I like to plan early too.

DS aged 3 loved loved loved Paw Patrol lookout tower from GP.

DS aged 5 loved Playmobil Aquarium and Aquarium shop

DD aged 8 v v happy with Design a friend doll and accessories.

The two boys (3 and 5) loved their arts and crafts boxes from a relative

DD (8) and DS (5) loved Ludo from a family friend (but if I have to play it again I may run away from home. It is so very very tedious).

DS (5) likes his magic set but it is a bit hard for him.

DD (8) v pleased with science kit but not actually opened it and used it yet.

The Haribo boxes in stockings went down a treat too.

Deminism · 26/12/2018 23:43

Can you post link to the aircraft carrier please @missyB1

Bouledeneige · 26/12/2018 23:44

I know you're all in another age bracket but my DS16 with whom I have a very up and down rrelationship was really thrilled with his wireless headphones for his iphone. And he wrote in his Christmas card to me 'thank you for being the most amazing Mum and for being there when I needed you.'
Ive not felt great about how I've handled things with him recently so that meant more than any gift.

Ds15, chocolate orange fudge, chomping that whilst his nose has been in a book his auntie got him for the whole day today.

Lovemusic33 · 27/12/2018 09:32

AnnaMariaDreams · 27/12/2018 09:44

DS (6) - electric guitar- he starts lessons after Christmas. Also loves his Playmobil Sphinx and Amphitheatre.
Fail- telescope.

singingismypassion · 27/12/2018 09:51

toomanygreys · 27/12/2018 09:58

This pug, my 9 year old dd has not stopped cuddling it since she first saw it. I just bought it as a teddy to sit on the end of her bed but she's really taken with it. It is cute and feels like it's breathing and gently snoring but that's all it does.

A Poundland pot of llama poo in her stocking too 🤔🤷‍♀️

What were your Christmas successes?
Queenofthedrivensnow · 27/12/2018 10:07

Waffle iron for the dds 6 and 9. V well reviewed. They have every toy so I listed other things they have requested to relatives.

Harry Potter dolls dd9 amazed.

runwithme · 27/12/2018 11:05

DS1 (10) Tracksuits, Football Monopoly, a watch and PS2 steering wheel.

DS2 (7) Yoyo from cracker Confused, Lego, Dinosaur Fingerlings.

Misses- not sure really, tried not to buy one hit wonders, but I did get some 3d Pens and I don't hold much hope for those.

duckling84 · 27/12/2018 11:29

Amazon fire tablets. All 4 got one.

Dd(14) loved " the fight before christmas" and her fluffy socks.

Ds(9) loved all his but the favourite I think is lego infinity for the ps4.

Ds(6) loved his red guitar and has decided he wants to be a busker

Ds(3) playdough and toy microwave. In fact the playdough and microwave has been the biggest hit and loved by all 3 boys, and I've had 3 days of being fed cookies and burgers by them all.

MarieMorgan · 27/12/2018 11:39

Lego boost - brilliant - got my son (11) off Fortnite and building robots for last 2 days!

stridesy · 27/12/2018 12:39

My 2 year old loves her asda kitchen and her elc postbox. She also enjoyed playing with her new socks. I've forgotten some presents so will leave them for next year.
My 9 year old moaned he got nothing he wanted but is playing with his new football table plus his annual and the meltdown book he's getting from grandparents.
Dh probably the simpsons cluedo I got second hand from ebay. He also likes his Harry Potter Lego.
Mine probably my photo phone cover and my multi regional DVD player.

headinhands · 27/12/2018 12:59

Got a harmonica as a stocking filler for ds. He's already learnt to play 3 songs!

Misty9 · 27/12/2018 20:29

Nearly 5yo dd loved her kidizoom camera and her IQ puzzle (from wicked uncle) and her soft toy unicorn on a stick.

7yo ds loves his books and battery powered brio train. Oh and he loves his digital radio too.

We all love the hexbug game bugs in the kitchen.

Equimum · 27/12/2018 20:36

DS1(nearly 6) lives his Snapcircuits set and keeps building new circuits. He’s also loved his Lego kits (spent hours at the table building) and Nerf gun.

DS2(3) has played lots with his Schleich vet van, a slinky and his tepee.

We all live Bugs in the kitchen!

FuzzyPenguin · 27/12/2018 20:39

DS4 loves his wrapple, which his grandma does too and his electric drum kit.

Aragog · 27/12/2018 21:17

16y Dd has loved all her gifts including the 'big' ones but the one thing that has gone down well way more than I expected - her Hufflepuff scarf from the Universal store. She had worn it every day since opening it, even in the house! I knew she'd like it but didn't realise how much 😂

widgetbeana · 27/12/2018 21:47

Dd 3 and 6 love their zhuzhu pet hamsters ( I got them for £3 during a crazy sale earlier this year - thanks Christmas bargain three!)

Also dd6 loves her Osmo Awbie coding game for iPad. It's really really good for developing computer code basics in a rally fun game.

FoxInABox · 27/12/2018 22:14

Dd11 loves her new Chilly water bottle- this was just a last minute addition so I’m really pleased she loves it, as well as a power bank hand warmer.
DD8 loves her new reindeer eye mask, and a box full of slime ingredients which she wasn’t expecting as I hate slime- worth it for her face when she opened the box.
DS6 wasn’t really a surprise success, as we knew he would love it- he is obsessed with his switch. He also loves a pop out sea creatures book and a Wonka bar with a golden ticket inside.

StarShapedWindow · 27/12/2018 22:20

DS 10 got an IPhone and is over the moon.

DD 6 got the GLTC cafe and hadn’t stopped making us all coffees and arranging her front shop.

The adults have all found stretch Armstrong hilarious and keep posing him in compromising positions - also to amuse us all further his pants wore off!

IHeartKingThistle · 27/12/2018 23:01

Hot Wires a HUGE hit with DS(9) - this kid doesn't play with toys any more (guitar, football, FIFA, repeat) so watching him make circuits for a whole day was lovely.

DD (11) super happy with cake decorating stuff and voucher for a lesson.

Zevitevitchofcwsmas · 27/12/2018 23:08

Dd loves her ninetendo
Not sure how much longevity can be got from it but she seems to really like it.
Other dd loves everything and wants everything opened and played with at the same time
