We usually go for a walk on the beach as it's only a few minutes away. Plus, we get windswept and chilly so we need to come home to roast Chestnuts, drink mulled wine and eat turkey and ham pie to warm up!

AuntMarch · 23/12/2018 13:20

Football if my team are at home, as they are this year. Otherwise it's usually been spent visiting whichever family I don't see Xmas day (mum or dad, or boyfriends over the years etc).

Next year will be different as my partner and I will have our own DC so it'll be time to start new traditions and thats exciting!

duckling84 · 23/12/2018 13:25

It's ds3's birthday so presents, cake and mcdonalds.

Notquiteagandt · 23/12/2018 15:10

A walk in the forrest with the thousands of others, turkey curry, then a boxong day party our grouo of friends take in turns to alturnate hosting.

MsTSwift · 23/12/2018 15:11

Drink champagne and play scrabble

HundredYearOldMan · 23/12/2018 15:12

Pantomime then a chinese takeaway

Arrowfanatic · 23/12/2018 15:59

We host a party for about 14 people so its cooking lots of party food, drinking, eating and fun. I often prefer it to xmas day as its much less stressful.

JellySlice · 23/12/2018 16:21

Do Christmas Day all over again!

Continue opening presents (we drag it out Grin), playing with them, eating leftovers (but Christmas Day style, not sandwiches or curry or cold or whatever). Maybe go out for an amble. Maybe have friends over. Very chilled.

babysharkah · 23/12/2018 16:33

Christmas Day no 2 with the side of the family. Which is nice but this year I've refused. We are going to play with the kids toys and go for a curry and I can't wait!

skippy67 · 23/12/2018 17:26

Football match, then home for more food and board games.

Mumof3needswine · 23/12/2018 22:32

Walk my grandads dog in the morning spend the middle part of the day with my mum stepdad sister husband and kids then im picking the new furry addition to our family up at 4 ! . We don't really have any set in stone boxing day traditions other than a big greasy fry up Grin

sophisticatedsarcasm · 23/12/2018 22:39

We usually do a buffet and watch tV and movies and the kids play with thier toys etc. So will no doubt play with the switch my DS is getting. Just a buffet for 4 as my mum has got my sister tickets for a football match on Boxing Day.

BillyAndTheSillies · 23/12/2018 22:47

We'd usually go to whichever set of parents we didn't spend Christmas Day with. But this year the IL's are on holiday and we have my parents for Christmas Day so will probably spend the day playing with DS's new toys, tidying up and maybe a long walk.

HelenaJustina · 23/12/2018 22:49

Descend on my parents with most of my siblings for Christmas round 2! Love it as don’t have to do any of the cooking/cleaning/hosting!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/12/2018 22:52

It's a totally lazy day here and in a way I prefer it to Christmas Day - no obligations and no cooking.

MrsScamander · 23/12/2018 23:17

It's my birthday so I'll be opening presents and expecting to be treated like a princess Grin we go for a meal with my dad, step-mum and her family every year. Then back home to eat more rubbish food, watch Christmas TV and relax

Littlelambpeep · 23/12/2018 23:21

Really looking forward to it.. We have another roast with leftovers (cook fresh veg etc) and play with dc. Maybe go to the park. Watch a film.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 24/12/2018 07:16

I have mine & dhs family over - about 35-40 including stragglers. Another roast & all the Greek food. I’m always glad when the 27th comes! But I wouldn’t have it any other way.

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 24/12/2018 07:20

We watch the football and munch leftovers. Very laid back after the hustle and bustle of the rest of December. Lovely!

Weepingwillows12 · 24/12/2018 07:21

Boxing day is better than Christmas to me. Go to family for Christmas mark 2 but the food is better - bubble and squeak, home cooked chips, pickled onions, cold gammon. Yum. Its a bit more relaxed than Christmas so the kids fight less, I am less stressed etc. Usually a film after dinner and games. Walk if the weather's good. Love it.

agirlhasnonameX · 24/12/2018 07:23

Admire you all for doing so much after Christmas Day!!
DD2 is going to her dads, the rest of us will be having a duvet day, watching movies, eating too much and not leaving the house but to walk the dog!!

WheelyCoteClaus · 24/12/2018 07:25

We do the movies in the afternoon Smile

Littleraindrop15 · 24/12/2018 07:26

We have Christmas day #2 planned.

However I might sneak into town early in the morning and check out the sales in next for baby stuff, the likely hood of me following through this plan is 1%.

mumof2sarah · 24/12/2018 07:40

My DD1 goes to her Dads late Christmas night and DD2 is usually in bed by about 8 through being exhausted from the day. Boxing Day I'm always the first up, potter around tidying til she joins me and then DP after his lie in (I'm always wide awake early so don't mind him lying in) we usually have tea and biscuits from the box we always get off a family member whilst DD2 plays with her presents some more and then we head to my DPs for a second full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. (We also eat there Christmas Day, my health isn't always great and can tire easily so it's better someone else cook otherwise I'd be too tired to spend time with kids and my mum loves it) then it's back to ours where I'll go and wallow in a bath whilst DP and DD2 play games. Once DD2 is in bed we usually snuggle down with a movie and some Christmas chocolates and a small glass of wine (I only drink on occasion and never more than one small glass) then we do it all again the next day just with a simple meal that's cooked by DP ready for when DD1 gets home mid morning x

HemlockStarglimmer · 24/12/2018 08:19

I'm working from 9am-3pm. After that no idea. Too knackered to care.
