What do 14 year old girls like?

DS is spending Christmas with XH and has asked if I will send his Christmas Eve box. I want to include something inside for XH's SD who is 14. A little out of touch, any ideas??

Well, they're a variable bunch so, depending on the girl anything from a soft toy to a bottle of vodka and a packet of fags (not serious suggestions). Possibly all three.

Maybe make-up if you know she wears it, maybe a nice lip balm (quality brand to make it extra special) if you don't know. Make-up bag/pencil case. Stationery. Chocolate.

goldengummybear · 21/12/2018 10:45

Need a bit more info like how girly she may be and a budget.

Something edible like chocolate would be the safe bet but I'm obviously assuming no allergies.

kingseven · 21/12/2018 10:47

Not massively girly, very quiet and timid and a 'young' 14. I'm looking for stocking filler toys under £5. Lip balm sounds a good idea.

A book?

I know it seems like 14 year olds are the masters of contouring, selfies and dressin immaculately these days (sob!) I would’ve suggested a MAC voucher but if she’s a bit shy etc a good book to read on Xmas eve to help her feel sleepy would be lovely. If she is a young 14 then she is probably still really excited about Xmas day and finds it hard to get to sleep the night before.

I used to read a flipping tome to get me off to sleep at 14!

Makeup or cute stationery

pippistrelle · 21/12/2018 10:53

Those egg shaped lip balms are popular - Eon. Oh, or hand sanitiser - spray or little bottles in overpowering artificial scents - you get them in the accessory section of teen-popular clothes shops. My scientific research tells me they're ALL obsessed with these.

HopeHopity · 21/12/2018 10:54

A small flower press?

TeenTimesTwo · 21/12/2018 11:04

cute stationery

coffee (regularly meets friends at costa or McD's for a coffee so perhaps vouchers?)

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 21/12/2018 11:41

Lush Snow Fairy is very popular and smells amazing, there's different sizes available for different prices.

ritzbiscuits · 21/12/2018 12:43

I'd look in Boots for a beauty/make up gift - Nail polish, lip balm set, bath bombs.

Or they had some Harry Potter make up/beauty gifts if she's into that?

ritzbiscuits · 21/12/2018 12:44

Oh was going to say some chocolate too!

TheSpottedZebra · 21/12/2018 12:45

Y y to hand sanitiser.
But WHY??? Grin

goldengummybear · 21/12/2018 12:52

Lush bath bomb

Noteverythingisabingthing · 21/12/2018 12:59

Not really any suggestions but just wanted to say that I think it's kind of you to think of her having something to open as well. Hope you have a lovely Christmas.

user1494055864 · 21/12/2018 16:10

All 14 year olds I know love cute cosy socks from Primark!
Post-it notes, diary, pen, lip balm - eos is popular but can be over the £5 although some are often sale price in boots, Zoella hand cream, lip balm or hand sanitiser.

AlexaShutUp · 21/12/2018 18:52

LOL at anything rose gold. So very true.Grin

FortyFacedFuckers · 21/12/2018 19:03

I’m 33 but tempted to send this thread to DH for ideas for my stocking I would love everything suggested especially the “anything rose gold” Grin

GoldenBuns · 21/12/2018 22:10

Unless she has excema, Lush bath bombs and chocolate (my dd loves Hotel du Chocolate). Or fingerless gloves, a wallet, metallic coloured sharpies, Exploding Kittens, a voucher of some kind a pretty diary from Paperchase.

GoldenBuns · 21/12/2018 22:12

Sorry - just saw £5 limit. I think some of those meet that criteria

Mumshappy · 21/12/2018 22:14

Anything from Lush, hotel chocolate and victoria secret pink
