It’s a long shot but I’m hoping someone might be able to help me.
My six year old dd has written her Santa letter and put down.
Sunshine toy that you put your thumb in.
I’ve asked her to explain but she just says you will see it on Christmas morning!
I’ve googled lots and looked on eBay. Toy shops. I still have no idea what she’s looking for.
Thanks

Could it be something to do with Care Bears?

ilovetvandchocolates · 29/11/2018 06:54

How old is she? There is a game called hello sunshine, I hope someone knows to help you!

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 29/11/2018 06:54

By "put your thumb in" could she mean one of those "press to activate" toys?

Can you mock up a letter from Santa asking for clarification? You could help her describe it so Santa can find it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Itsanewme · 29/11/2018 06:54

I will look up Care Bears thanks.
She told my older dd that she saw it in a storybook.
Sorry meant to say that in my first post.

Fidget spinner? One of those monkey things?

TipseyTorvey · 29/11/2018 06:57

A fingerling maybe?

TipseyTorvey · 29/11/2018 07:00

Perhaps explain to her that you've had a word with the elves and they're unclear so could she either draw them a picture of it or find it in the argos catalogue?

amprev · 29/11/2018 07:03

I was going to say fingerling too. Not helpful but what an adorable response from your dd that you will see it on Christmas morning - that made me feel warm inside Smile[santa]

Saisong · 29/11/2018 07:04

Does she watch you tube and those tedious toy unboxing/review channels?

apostropheuse · 29/11/2018 07:32

Tell her Santa phoned you and asked for clarification as he's unsure which toy she means. He said can she please tell you which book she saw it in, or if she's seen it on TV. Perhaos thw "book" she saw it in is actually a Smyths or Argos book, or similar. Have any of her friends got the toy, or have thwy asked for it? Ask their parents.

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 29/11/2018 07:42

Like @ilovetvandchocolates says...could it be this one..?

Itsanewme · 29/11/2018 07:50

Thanks lots to think about. The clarification letter is a great idea. I will try that.
That game looks like a possibility.
It is adorable but I don’t want her to be disappointed on Christmas morning.
She is 6.

Could it be a bush baby? Or a puppet of some type, hope you manage to track it down

jellybean85 · 29/11/2018 08:26

I would go with letter from Santa but maybe include a few options from Argos catalogue so she can pick. And even you can't find the exact one she knows what she's getting Christmas mornings

costacoffeecup · 29/11/2018 08:33

Can you get her to draw a picture of it?

Itsanewme · 29/11/2018 08:36

It’s def not a fingerling she has a monkey already.
I will and get her to draw a picture. Off to work now. Thanks again

Let us know if you get anywhere OP!

I was a Santa's helper at a grotto for 3 years, I know what to do!

Go to a Santa's grotto. When you are in the queue slip a note to the santa's helper/elf/fairy. They should give it to santa. And then he will read it before you go in and be ready to talk to the child and ask for clarification.

We had stuff like this happen all the time. Things like 'would Santa remember me now my hair is short?' We would prep Santa and then when the child walked in he would say hello .... Wow you have grown. What have you done this year apart from getting a hair cut etc etc. The child's face would light up!

SherbertLemon2011 · 29/11/2018 09:16

P.s. if you take her note and also slip that to the elf then santa can produce that from his pocket and it adds to the authenticity

Funnyface1 · 29/11/2018 14:10

Does she watch milkshake on channel 5? First thing I thought of from your description was when they do the "milkshake thumbs up" and wear little sunshine's on their thumbs.

Sunflowersforever · 29/11/2018 14:18

I need to know this ends well Confused

Starlight345 · 29/11/2018 14:22

Could be worse my Ds once asked Santa for a baby sister 🤣

Imareallifemonet · 29/11/2018 14:22

I'm sorry I have nothing of use to add, but doesn't it make you want to flick them when they say things like that?Grin
I told my ds that they didn't make or sell a toy he asked for anymore, his reply was "don't worry mummy Santa will find one for meWink" I thought no he bloody won't not for the prices they're going for on eBay.

BlueOooChristmas · 29/11/2018 15:28

I’ve asked her to explain but she just says you will see it on Christmas morning!

I'm sorry I can't help but that made me laugh. Grin My daughter wanted one of those ride on unicorns, I told her it was too expensive and she said "don't worry, Santa will get me it". Since then we've had a talk about how Santa won't bring things that are too big for the house and he'll know that it is. She seems to accept that. I think the grotto idea is great.

BlooperReel · 29/11/2018 16:33

Could it be something like this:
