Im looking for ideas of small posh biscuits for secret office santa. Any ideas or advice on which ones?

Sainsbury’s Belgian selection was lovely recently. But maybe m and s or Waitrose would be posher. Macaroon things are quite posh aren’t they?

Isadora2007 · 23/11/2018 03:04

But I have to add that your username is making me twitch. It’s “och” not auch and “noo”not no... 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What's 'posh' biscuits exactly?!
Wanted to make suggestions, but wth is the 'posh' all about, like biscuits that 'posh' ppl eat? That's a thing? This is a joke right?

Shriek · 23/11/2018 03:27

What is 'secret office santa'?

LadyOfTheCanyon · 23/11/2018 03:53

@Isadora2007

Auch is a perfectly fine Gaelic word meaning Field and also an alternative interjection to Och. It's poor form to have a pop at someone's username, don't you think?

OP - TK Maxx often have biscuits in nice tins- also Fortnums have some Christmas spiced biscuits in a lovely tin

Biscuiteers do nice seasonal sets but are more pricy. Though they have 15% off till Sunday

Isadora your ‘correct’ forms were already taken. I’ll keep it as is thanks.

Shrek its a term used quite often on here you will notice. Has it offended you in someway??

LadyOf thank you. Suggestions are great, nice to see someone got out of the right side of the bed Smile

My absolute favourite are from the Island Bakery. I’m hoping bynyour username that you are in Scotland and therefore will be able to find them somewhere! They are available in garden centres and little deli type shops where I am. The dark chocolate gingers and white chocolate lemon ones are divine. They are my go-to treat biscuit.

Also - for shortbread you can’t go wrong with Deans - again available in delis and garden centres around here, but Sainsbury’s also do the special gift boxes at Christmas. Far superior to Walkers or Borders

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 23/11/2018 08:26

Island Bakery

AuchAyeTheNo · 23/11/2018 10:59

They look delicious. Thanks Tami

No its not an offended response! Hence, my saying I wanted to try to suggest something for tou, but couldn't think for the life of me what exactly a 'posh' biscuit is supposed to be!
What characterises a biscuit as 'posh'?
Is it a tin? Or if it's from F&M, or are you meaning something a bit more special and high end? [I'm getting from responses]
I didn't mean to offend you! I hope you got out the right side of bed this morning!

BertramKibbler · 23/11/2018 11:13

Betty’s?

TimeWoundsAllHeals · 23/11/2018 11:15

If I could easily get hold of some langue de chat I’d be delighted. I have such fond childhood memories of those but never see them anywhere. Little palmier are also delicious and could be considered a biscuit of sorts.

Paddington68 · 23/11/2018 11:15

Island Bakery Chocolate Limes, my mouth is watering now.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/11/2018 12:05

How much are you spending and do they like chocolate?

I love those Amarretti biscuits in the paper ( has to be the sort that has two in the wrapper , crisp not the soft ones) , and you can light the paper and they fly to Heaven (or something)

Or those Bonne Mamam ones , white pack, french writing , very crisp buttery biscuits.

Xmas Smile

I came on to say the Biscuiteers but I see somebody has already mentioned them!
Only recently discovered and they are gorgeous!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 23/11/2018 12:37

Sainsbury do a beautiful almond shortbread (drooling here even as I type) and Ringtons always have a good selection of delicious biscuits and of course, now they have there Christmassy tins available.

pinkground202 · 23/11/2018 12:40

These are the most unbelievably delicious biscuits I have ever tasted. So good I kept the tin!

Posh biscuit ideas?
newbiegreenfingers · 23/11/2018 13:19

I second pinkground2020, Chocolossus biscuits from F&M are the best!!

Cuzcothellama · 23/11/2018 13:43

Proper posh biscotti from somewhere like TK Maxx. Or proper German Spekulatius from Aldi / LIDL.

Twatforahat · 23/11/2018 13:45

I really like Biscuiteers.

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 23/11/2018 14:02

I’ve never seen the lime ones Paddington - just spotted them for the first time on the website when I went to link it for the OP. I REALLY want to try them now!

Lazybonita · 23/11/2018 14:10

I have done a fortnum and mason shop for nice biscuits for the great grandparents, teachers and stocking fillers. They are lovely and always come in nice packaging.

SuperSange · 23/11/2018 14:20

Fortnum and Mason florentines. The dark chocolate ones. You can thank me later.

LoniceraJaponica · 23/11/2018 14:23

Anything from Betty's

crochetmonkey74 · 23/11/2018 14:28

I really like the M and S extremely chocolatey ones, and chocolate Bath Olivers
