@Reastie is obviously busy getting her sprouts on, so I've set up a new thread just to keep us moving.

Previous thread here with Reastie's usual helpful posts.

Remember everyone, it's only a bargain if you need it and check it hasn't been cheaper before/isn't cheaper somewhere else! Happy Thanksgiving Xmas Wink

I have a friend who's moving abroad. I had half an idea to give her a kindle or other device loaded with some nice ebooks and tv series, for the long flights and until she's settled with her own stuff. But I'm totally baby-brained (sleep deprived) and I can't seem to be able to assess whether

  1. it's a stupid idea (will the shows etc still work if she's in Oz? I had a devil of a time with my kindle in Italy!)
  2. how much it would cost (too much, said my DH)

Can anyone help me decide? It's partly a going away present and partly a Christmas one...

So pleased people are enjoying the Monsoon tip - have had so many bargains from this thread so was great to be able to give something back. Thanks to all of you who have posted your thanks.
This has got to be the loveliest MN thread.

totallyLosingIt · 24/11/2018 21:12

@PinkDaydreams Sainsbury's usually have quite a few of the 'That's not my...' books, which my DS(1) loves.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 24/11/2018 21:15

I’m looking for a designer fold away umbrella for a college student if any one has seen one on their bargain travels please.

TheGirlWhoLived · 24/11/2018 21:21

I quite like the sound of the walking tour in London! Is there somewhere that gives you a little map of where you will go or something so I know a rough idea of how far each one is? I have an elderly (ish) aunt, and I could take her but i know she can’t wank very far without getting tired!

ZIGGY911 · 24/11/2018 21:24

Thank you for the code xx

starrynight19 · 24/11/2018 21:28

@ ziggy add the Karl lagerfeld set to it comes up for a penny instead of £30

PinkDaydreams · 24/11/2018 21:33

@totallyLosingIt thank you! It’s for a 2 year old, already bought a gift card but wanted a book to go with it.

Rockhopper81 · 24/11/2018 21:33

TheGirlWhoLived - I’m sure not being able to wank very far before getting tired will be a given for all of us some day! 😂

SantasFavouriteHo · 24/11/2018 21:33

@TheGirlWhoLived that's an unfortunate autocorrect
, 😂

PinkDaydreams · 24/11/2018 21:35

Surely that’s got to be a thread title?! 😂😂

TheGirlWhoLived · 24/11/2018 21:37

Noooo! Confused whilst I am sure the err...autocorrect is factually correct Actually she cannot walk very far Blush

Well that is that settled, there’s no way I can look her in the eye on a walking tour now so cashmere wrist warmers it is! Grin

TheGirlWhoLived · 24/11/2018 21:38

Or actually maybe not wrist warmers either!? Shock

Blacktoffeecat · 24/11/2018 21:39

Just built and wrapped the Playmobil Roman Arena (Argos bargain back in September). It took about an hour to build so not as bad as some Playmobil.
All DH bought and wrapped, DS all bought and stocking all wrapped - feeling happy

DillieDoily · 24/11/2018 21:40

Any suggestions for cheap and tiny presents for making our own advent calendars that will arrive in the next few days? Need them for 3 year old girl and 7 year old boy. In previous years I've done cheap shopkins, Lego figures and Pokemon figures from Ali Express but left it too late this year. Was just going to put chocolate in this year but they have both just told me how much they are looking forward to the little toys Shock

Beagadorsrock · 24/11/2018 21:40

About advent calendars for men:

I liked this one, it's got peanuts-type snacks rather than chocolates (which my DH doesn't eat)
No discount that I could see though.

And this Haynes one looks great if only I could tell what it does!

applepinkierainbow · 24/11/2018 21:46

@DillieDoily I have just finished something similar for my two 6 and 3 and added mini bath bombs (Christmas trees and other festive ones) from a seller on Etsy which were cheap and won't add clutter to the house!

totallyLosingIt · 24/11/2018 21:51

@PinkDaydreams A 'that's not my...' book would be perfect I think. My DD got a load for her third birthday and still looks at them now 2 years later.

OldBrownShoe · 24/11/2018 21:56

@DillieDoily toysforapound.co.uk have some blind bag/slime/squashie/figurine type stuff that might be ideal. Their delivery time is quick too

SilverGiraffe7 · 24/11/2018 22:01

@DillieDoily Crafty Crocodiles have free delivery on orders over £10 - lots of 'pocket money' toys. I got lots for mine there.

PinkDaydreams · 24/11/2018 22:03

That’s not my book it is then thank you! :) I’ve bought my little one the that’s not my tiger book already for Christmas, he’s a year old.

1stTimeMama · 24/11/2018 22:04

I need matching check pj bottoms to go with the Rocket & Rose topa I ordered, preferably in red in 4 different children's sizes, from 12m to 9yrs. I feel like I've looked through the entire internet. Can anyone help?!

CaseStudyResearch · 24/11/2018 22:04

I've still got my mum to buy for - trying to work out whether to get a load of No 7 skincare, or a necklace/bracelet with her mum's handwriting on it.

Has anyone seen/can recommend any really, really warm gloves for men? Leather or suede ideally with a fleecey inside would be perfect. Poor Aussie DH is suffering already!

1stTimeMama · 24/11/2018 22:05

@TheGirlWhoLived, I lol'd and woke my toddler!

minsmum · 24/11/2018 22:22

Thanks for the Glossy box tip just bought for my DD
