Hi all
I'm starting to get organised for Christmas and I was talking to a colleague today and we were discussing what day was our favourite day of Christmas.
I think it's that feeling on Christmas Eve when everything is done and the shops are shut and it's all ready! Hers was Boxing day!
Which is your favourite day?

Boxing Day! The sales.

Christmas Day always seems a bit up and down. I love Christmas Eve too

Trottersindependenttraders · 20/11/2018 20:12

Christmas Eve in the evening. As a child it was that feeling waiting for the magic of Father Christmas but even now I like the stillness of the evening, it still has a certain magic to it.

goose1964 · 20/11/2018 20:13

the day after boxing day, I always feel anticlimactic on boxing day & we usually have a family get together the day after

bobstersmum · 20/11/2018 20:18

Same as you op. It's Christmas eve. Setting the kids off to bed after leaving santa a mince pie and carrot for rudolph and just the whole anticipation of what's to come, it's really magical for little ones, it makes me teary thinking one day they won't believe!

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 20/11/2018 20:24

Xmas eve,it has a magical feeling about it to me.

TulipsfromAmsterdam · 20/11/2018 20:39

Boxing Day here. It’s usually nice and quiet after a hectic build up.

GrumpyOldMare · 20/11/2018 20:41

The day after Boxing Day. We can get back to normal and the decorations can come down.

BasinHaircut · 20/11/2018 20:44

Xmas eve and then Boxing Day. Xmas day is always an anticlimax and boring and/or stressful.

BonnieF · 20/11/2018 20:48

Boxing Day.

Bugger the sales, I’m off to the football!

ScreamingValenta · 20/11/2018 20:50

I'll have to be dull and say Christmas Day itself. I'm invariably working on Christmas Eve, and Boxing Day is just a bit dull.

TheFaerieQueene · 20/11/2018 20:53

Christmas Eve evening is my favourite time. We have a light supper and a good champagne. Christmas Day isn’t that much of a big deal for me.

rslsys · 20/11/2018 21:00

12th Night, when we can pack all the crap up and get back to normal . .

Angelinthenight · 20/11/2018 21:01

I love it all but christmas eve is my fave ,when i was working my boss gave me it off every year so was very greatful x

OneWildNightWithJBJ · 20/11/2018 21:01

I love the build-up so probably Christmas Eve, although I really like Christmas Day too! Love the excitement and anticipation of Xmas Eve.

MaverickSnoopy · 20/11/2018 21:41

Christmas eve without written doubt. When I was growing up my mum spent the day madly prepping and organising. I remember that it gave me a fluffy feeling - the routine, the magic and the comfort of it all. Now that I'm a parent I try to make sure everything is done before Christmas eve (because I need the break!). I still love the magical feeling but try to fill the day with fun things for my children. I agree the evening has a sort of stillness and calm to it....apart from filling the stockings....totally stressful.

Lovemusic33 · 20/11/2018 22:01

Christmas Eve, love the excitement, finishing work, having a take away and watching cheesy tv (the snowman).

Chiristmas day is always a bit of a disappointment.

Boxing Day is good for sales as long as you have money left after buying all the Christmas stuff.

Jedimastermama · 20/11/2018 22:16

Christmas Eve has always felt magical for me. Never been a big fan of Christmas Day, always felt a bit of a deflated day tbh.

HamiltonCork · 20/11/2018 22:19

I just love Christmas Eve.

When work is finished and everyone is safe at home. Just lovely. Xx

thisshitgotreal · 20/11/2018 22:21

Christmas Eve is the best! I love the anticipation, getting food ready, the excitement of the kids, the long holiday stretching ahead, having a little prosecco. Ahhh I can't wait!

Girlicorne · 20/11/2018 23:07

Christmas Eve! I find Christmas Day a massive anticlimax!!

Love this

Fishcakey · 21/11/2018 10:26

Christmas Eve is the best. It's magical. The anticipation is always better than the actual day.

LittleSF · 21/11/2018 10:47

Definitely Christmas Eve when the shops have closed and there's no more do be done, everyone is home and cozy.

I do love St Stephen's Day (what we call Boxing Day here in Ireland), particularly being snuggled and cozy on the sofa and thinking "imagine wanting to go to a shop today!"

There is a special place in my heart for the day I finish work, knowing I'm not back until January. Am very lucky to be able to take two full weeks off at Christmas and that feeling of being in the car, heading home is like the usual Friday Feeling dialed up to eleventy-stupid!

pancaketosser · 21/11/2018 10:51

The one with the 5 gold rings!

Arrowfanatic · 21/11/2018 13:04

Oh Xmas eve for sure. Don't get me wrong I love Xmas day and boxing day but there is just something about the kids being so excited about Xmas and it just building up through the day. We go out for a walk, do baking, prep for dinner and it's all just such anticipation.
