Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Those of you coveting the Hotel Chocolat velvetiser - Aldi have an electric milk frother/heater which sounds the same thing but only for £20.

Csn anyone convince me of the advantages of a Kindle? And if so, which one? I need to write my own list.

linetta1 · 19/11/2018 11:14

25% off clothing in sainsbury's tomorrow

BeaLola · 19/11/2018 11:16

Anyone seen the Radio Times offer for £1 ? I looked on Buy Subscriptions (with code FB17B) & best I could get was £6. TIA

Spam88 · 19/11/2018 11:32

@WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit I barely read anything for years because the local library where I lived at the time was rubbish. My now DH bought me a kindle for Christmas one year and I was back to reading all the time. Plenty of free books available, the website eReaderIQ is great for seeing what's free or has dropped in price. If you fancy reading a particular book, you can just buy it there and then - no going to the library/shop. They're also really skinny so you can always squeeze it in your bag - I don't know how many train journeys I must have done as a student where I just couldn't fit my book in my bag so had to go without. I have a snazzy new one now as well with the light, so you can read in the dark. Ooh! And it's really comfortable to read laying on your side!

Thanks everyone for the Duplo vs stickle bricks advice. I was going for Duplo but started doubting myself, but I shall stick with that!

Spam88 · 19/11/2018 11:34

Oh also, a fair few board games in Lidl for £15 (articulate, logo, whats that dude or something along those lines) as well as labyrinth and pharaoh for £12/£13.

SweetPeaPods · 19/11/2018 11:38

I’m a bit late to the echo dot party. Is it worth getting one now or do we think they will go lower on Friday? I’m hoping John Lewis might price match on Friday?

margaritasbythesea · 19/11/2018 11:39

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit - personally I am fine with the kindle app on my phone and tablet, but I have used a friend's and it is better. Depends how exacting you are I suppose

Tiggles · 19/11/2018 11:42

What about something by Millie Slavidou for the 7 year old, she has female leads.

I was definitely never going to have a kindle. Now I have two Blush. A free book each month as I have amazon prime. Easy to carry when going on a journey. Can read in bed (paper white version) without needing a light on. Some of the books I need for work are big bulky £25 each hardbacks only cost me £5 on the kindle.
Remembers where you have got to in every book without the need for a bookmark...
I never thought I would be a convert but it's fab.

Justyou · 19/11/2018 11:43

Carbsnomarbs I’ve just been to Asda and they have a microphone on their green/Black Friday event that your phone clips onto and you download a karaoke app, it was only £10 I think and looked quite good.

FireflyGirl · 19/11/2018 11:46

@BeaLola the offer must have finished. I originally posted it and have just tried to do it again and it won't let me. I'm sure it's usually on for longer than a few days! It might come up again. If I see it I'll post.

thaegumathteth · 19/11/2018 11:46

Thanks teaorwine

BeaLola · 19/11/2018 11:48

thanks FireflyGirl - I tried it on Saturday night and it didn't gve me the offer - thank you & if you notice it again

woodwaj · 19/11/2018 11:50

If anyone is ordering from The Sub I have a referal code for an extra 15% off the machine. They are already discounted till Friday as well and it works in addition.

NotPennysBoat · 19/11/2018 11:50

Desperate for a Hotel Chocolat code if anyone comes across any.

YoufuckingkiddingmeRay · 19/11/2018 11:53

Birchbox are doing two boxes for £5 with code FRIYAY x

Ohmygoodmess · 19/11/2018 11:55

Hotel Chocolat Code: SHOPHY should give you £5 off £25 spend or £10 off £50 spend

AnonymousName · 19/11/2018 12:51

@BeaLola I think the Radio Times offer only works on one region (North West, I think it was?). I went for it because the programming differences are apparently negligible and I thought that it was worth it for £1!

LoudestRoar · 19/11/2018 12:57

Not sure if it was just my Boots, but they are doing a black Friday deal for you to upload a photo onto a cushion for them to print. Usually £21, currently £7.50. That's part of my secret Santa sorted!

recklessgran · 19/11/2018 13:08

Not exactly an offer but Debenhams have loads of gifts on 3 for 2 - a bit like Boots but much better IMO. I had no idea they did this so lots of stocking fillers sorted now particularly for the difficult young men!
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this thread I've had some great bargains so far. Really grateful.

TheDrsDocMartens · 19/11/2018 13:27

Quidco have amazon on for certain categories

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 19/11/2018 13:34

There's 50% off all nightwear/lounge wear/slippers at Gap (and 30% off everything else) with code COMFYGAP, today only. A different deal tomorrow.
I got my DC some great matching pjs there last year. Not many places seem to do matching for toddlers and older kids.

Drummingisfun · 19/11/2018 13:39

Anyone wanting gap stuff, sign up to their email newsletter, and it sends a single use 20% off code. It says it can only be used on full
Price items but it stacks with the current 30% off full price stock so it ends up a big discount. I don't think it'll be much different to this once the black friday 50% kicks in and I wanted to order now before the stock is cleared out in my size.

Pandasarecute · 19/11/2018 13:58

Has anyone seen any offers on fire pits? I think many places sold them off at the end of the summer so maybe I'm looking at the wrong time!

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 19/11/2018 14:03

@carbsnobarbs DM bought DD a karaoke machine from Smyth's for Diwali, it's great. Was about £50. It has a voice changer- chipmunk and robot are huge hits in this house. It connects to my phone so I can play songs from Spotify. It also has lights.
DD loves it, as does DS. It's quick and easy to set up so can switch it on and use it to get the kids to get a wriggle on in the morning.
DD is 4 and can use it without any help. Just just needs someone to unlock phone and find " her" playlist on Spotify.

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 19/11/2018 14:05

It's the white and pink one £49.99 on the right.
