I've got a nice bottle of Cremant (French bubbles from a different region to Champagne region - lovely!) and 2 nice bottles of Chardonnay for Christmas Dinner, and a half bottle of dessert wine that we never opened last year. (Just DH and I - we won't drink ALL of that, but we might feel like a glass more of the wine so a second to open is nice to have, or we might have a glass of port with cheese, or I might actually open dessert wine with pudding - or we might just drink the cremant and stop).
For visitors (we have people dropping in generally, and a gathering on 26th), I generally serve mulled wine (made with merlot usually) so I need to get some red for that - about 6-10 bottles but any leftovers will be used up gradually.
I have 4 bottles of Rioja for cold pouring.
I will get some white for cold pouring, and I have 4 bottles of Lidl's prosecco which is very nice.
I will also need to get some beer, something like Miller and also some Belgian beer, and a 6 pack of Guinness.
DH likes craft beers, so I like to get maybe 6 different bottles of seasonal beers (Winter and Christmas lagers and ales).
Our drinks cabinet is relatively well stocked anyway, so I have gin, brandy, port, whiskey, sherry etc. They all (well, except the gin) take years to use up, but there are various visitors who like each.
I need more mixers. And I want a bottle of amaretti, as I like the odd glass of that at Christmas (the last bottle lasted me 6 years). We finished our last bottle of Baileys last Christmas, but I might get a Coole Swan instead, or not bother at all.
