Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Looking for a kids newspaper/magazine subscription. Could anyone recommend?

makingmiracles · 15/11/2018 12:54

Yep, a quick google reveals Kevin, Katy and co will be on sale from 22nd Nov

drspouse · 15/11/2018 12:57

wasting what age?
Storybox is good for 3-6 and Adventurebox for the next age group up, DiscoveryBox is mainly science based but follows on.
Okido is good for about 4-8? Also comes in a paper wrapper!
There are more literary ones for older kids too but my DC are younger and not very literary!

xalyssx · 15/11/2018 12:58

I'm after the 2019 Guinness world record book, where is the cheapest place to get it?

teaorwine · 15/11/2018 12:59

@shopping and @ bewatching, thanks for that feedback, now just to watch out for black Friday deals!!

Wenchelda · 15/11/2018 12:59

Well my bargain of the day is a free super soft oversized t shirt from Boden. Postman just brought me a £10 voucher, no minimum spend. Found a top that was £30 reduced to £9, a free delivery code was automatically applied to my basket so got it for absolutely nothing Grin (and I have never even bought a single thing from Boden so goodness knows why they even sent me a voucher?!)

Gooseysgirl · 15/11/2018 13:06

CookieSwirlC · 15/11/2018 13:11

I just got the Happyland Windmill farm down from £60 to £24 on the Mothercare Black Friday preview and a couple of animal sets for £9 but a few were sold out already.

wastingmoretime · 15/11/2018 13:15

@drspouse Thanks for that, Im looking for slightly older 9+

TheDrsDocMartens · 15/11/2018 13:25

My 8 year old likes National Geographic kids and another one I’ll have to check at home.

Waterlemon · 15/11/2018 13:28

@wastingmoretime

My kids currently have the Beano on subscription.

in the past they were gifted a subscription to this comic/magazine which they did enjoy, but we never bothered to renew the subscription as they preferred the Beano.
thephoenixcomic.co.uk

I’m Thinking about this for the 9yr DS, who is really into humanities/Science. Subscribers can buy back issues for half price.

And This is a great kids newspaper - explains things in an age-appropriate way. Like newsround in print!

chillimice · 15/11/2018 13:29

wasting my DD7 and DS9 yos LOVE the Phoenix. DS also wants the Beano. We tried the week junior but too many words Grin

CelticPromise · 15/11/2018 13:38

Just been to Sainsbury's for my double up, and spotted the Shopkins ice cream truck reduced to £8, might be useful to someone? Also they have some small Peppa toys reduced, and the toys are all in the double up.

smartiecake · 15/11/2018 14:00

xalyssx I have just seen it in Sainsbury's for £8.99 I think and the gamers one is 4.99.
Just spent my double up vouchers. Only had 60 quid worth but got 8 Xmas presents so very pleased with that

NotPennysBoat · 15/11/2018 14:12

@wastingmoretime I saw something the other day about a six-issue free trial for First News. I don't have a link but just google 'First News free trial' and it should come up. Just remember to cancel before the payments kick in x

margaritasbythesea · 15/11/2018 14:20

Dancemom - Tesco have this offer on gift cards at Gap, New Look and H and M. Any good?

imip · 15/11/2018 14:28

I can second The Week junior. Dds 12, 10 and increasingly my 8yo look forward to it arriving every Friday. They like the puzzle page and book reviews.

Dd6 yo likes the pictures!

Personwithnoname · 15/11/2018 14:28

My Boden voucher has ten pound off but min spend is thirty. Anyone got a no minimum spend one they can PM me? Happy to offer up mine.

BabiaMajora · 15/11/2018 14:56

Lurker here, bobbing up my head to say thanks for all the bargains.
I’ve just ordered a Mr Frosty for £10 on Amazon. My 4yo is obsessed with it, so that’s one ticked off the list!

IHeartKingThistle · 15/11/2018 15:06

Cultfurniture have some cool lights in their sale section - light box style, hearts and stuff.

starryeyedsnowgirl · 15/11/2018 15:06

Anyone who missed the 10 personalised Christmas cards from photo box you can get it again until midnight on Tuesday the 20th with the code MSEFREE10

Almostthere15 · 15/11/2018 15:31

Anyone who has the green and blacks chocolate from amazon with the split tape (I do too) just contact them on chat. They refunded me but I can keep the choc!!! Must not eat them. They are for teachers

dancemom · 15/11/2018 15:37

Thanks @margaritasbythesea do you know if they do the offer in store?

Lovemusic33 · 15/11/2018 15:43

Hype have Black Friday deals if you give them your email address you can have early access, good for teens.

BWatchWatcher · 15/11/2018 15:47

Acquila is a bit worthy to be honest. Phoenix goes down well here and the Week junior.
