Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

I've just bought the lunar rover book too. Also for DH. I think he'll like that. I have his birthday and Christmas to buy for. Pretty sure I'm done now though as I've topped up by 2 x vinyl albums, the G&B chocolate and now this over the last 4 days!

Namedecisions · 14/11/2018 07:11

Thanks all for the great links and bargains, have been watching these last few threads with great interest.
A deal that I’ve just found that others might be interested in is via the Hobbycraft 3for2. Galt ‘lab’ boxes are fantastic for kids aged maybe 4-8, we’ve had the slime, rainbow, magnetic kits all fab. These kits (usually £12, sometimes down to £9-10 on Amazon) are in the 3for2, you can also use a 15% off code on top, bringing the price for 3 sets down to £20.40 (£6.80 each which is a bargain), and its free delivery over £20! There are a few other good bits in the 3for2 too.
Never done a clicky link before so here goes: sciencelab

buckeejit · 14/11/2018 07:13

@NoWordForFluffy - thanks for that pic - I went to buy a switch yest & they would only give me £50 of vouchers even though I'd got £100 the day before so may use that today to try again for £50-£100!

fairiesandelves · 14/11/2018 07:20

Jimmy choo blossom 40ml £13.74 on amazon prime

fairiesandelves · 14/11/2018 07:24

Jimmy Choo man intense 50ml £17.98 amazon prime. Seems good deal too

NoWordForFluffy · 14/11/2018 07:25

I hope it helps, @buckeejit

waves

  • Michelle Obama’s just-published memoir is half-price at Waterstones (hardcover £12.50)
  • Attenborough’s Journeys to... is £7 for the hardcover in Amazon Prime (this is even cheaper than the paperback)

I’ve read people mentioning a Lego offer (if you spend xx amount get a free box or something) - can anyone clarify where/how I get this? Had a look on Amazon but can’t seem to find it. Thank you!

Reastiepeace · 14/11/2018 07:47

Thank you @sockeatingmonster . I’m about 1/3 way through a book on snapfish which is driving me mad so am looking for somewhere else for next book. Not sure about the upload time of yours though Confused . Do you have fibre optic broadband?

Just to say Blurb are amazing. Lots of other good book publishing sites but nothing comes close to blurb quality imo. (I use it for publishing clients photos) it’s not the cheapest but it’s the most professional. 👍

Youreadthebabybooks · 14/11/2018 08:24

Second the review about blurb our wedding albums were done on blurb and they are amazing

starryeyedsnowgirl · 14/11/2018 08:50

I bought from micro scooters website yesterday. They have one of those 'mention me' things on so that I can give £10 off to anyone who uses my code if they are spending over £65 which isn't bad. In exchange I get £5 off future purchases which I don't need (no more to buy!) but thought I should be upfront.

Anyway I have a very unusual name so won't post here, but if anyone does want it just drop me a PM.

starryeyedsnowgirl · 14/11/2018 08:52

Hang on though- I'm wondering if it's that you get a £10 gift card if you purchase over £65. Sorry if that is the case it is totally useless as you'd only get a discount off your next purchase. Hmm... if anyone wants to try pm me anyway.

DieDieFrickenDie · 14/11/2018 09:26

I got two £5.50 boxes of G&B chocolate in Tesco Express this morning - i blame you lot! You're all a dreadfully bad influence! DM and MIL will be delighted though (I was incredibly restrained in the shop actually as they were five boxes on the shelf and I only bought two) Grin

PlayingForKittens · 14/11/2018 09:27

Anyone mentioned Lidl stocking fillers yet? Melting snowmen (slime with snowman accessories. Build, watch it melt into a puddle and rebuild), Harry potter notebooks, wand pencils and other bits £2.99

buckeejit · 14/11/2018 09:36

Just reporting in that went to Sainsbury's this morn to buy a switch & game (although no deal at my store I had £10.50 off & triple points so a decent deal). I talked the reluctant assistant into giving me 2 * £50 vouchers after showing screenshot of T&Cs and had one £50 voucher from yesterday, however at the till it would only accept £100 of vouchers in one transaction which came off the switch. So used my other voucher to get the game and a couple of bottles of wine

I've now spent £250, so traded in £125 worth of points, so I'm guessing in total its a maximum of £400 of vouchers you can take. Some of the TTD wine is very good & a lot of it still reduced while the double up is on. I'm pretty chuffed all in all. Now just need to work out how and when to set the thing up before Christmas!

EverybodyKeepCool · 14/11/2018 09:38

Showcase cinemas have a free £5 voucher when you buy a £25 gift card. The bonus voucher isn't valid until after Christmas but still a good deal

ChoccyJules · 14/11/2018 09:40

Thanks for the link to Hobbycraft, did the three for two then saw a colour-in playhouse which I couldn’t resist for DD6! But free delivery on top so it’s all good.

Reastiepeace · 14/11/2018 09:41

Just been on blurb and it only works on computer not iPad so no use for me Sad . They do iPad based books but only small ones and I want more A4 size.

Half price selection boxes in Tesco from today. Lots to choose from in our local one, Maltesers, cadburys, Galaxy and M&M. Most were £1 or £1.50.

Carrie76 · 14/11/2018 09:42

My 6 year old has just announded he’d like a teksta puppy from Santa. Has anyone any experience of them, are they any good? I can probably talk him out of it if needs be but I would also like to lock him into something if it’s decent!!

ChoccyJules · 14/11/2018 09:47

Men in their 70s. Only so many sox, posh chocs, booze and history books I can buy so would like new ideas this year. Anyone got any thoughts? Budget around £30

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 14/11/2018 09:54

@drummingisfun we coughed up for the furreal puppy last Xmas and it is cute but has VERY rarely been played with. Although I remember some people at the time saying their DC played with them every day so it might just be mine. Tut. It has put me right off buying any other similar toys as the fingerlings are similarly languishing in toy boxes.

totallyLosingIt · 14/11/2018 10:03

@ChoccyJules how about a nice warm fleece jumper? My Grandad (82) is always cold, so I tend to buy him a thick fleece for Christmas each year and it always goes down well. I've also bought my Dad (60) fleeces in the past that he has really liked. I usually go for Regatta as they are cheaper than they look and seem to last a while.
Still not an exciting present, but a bit of an upgrade from socks and chocs maybe?!

MsMiaWallace · 14/11/2018 10:16

Men's UGG slippers reduced to £45 on Very!!

drspouse · 14/11/2018 10:28

Choccy my dad's getting cheese and pate from Booths (we have it here, he doesn't as he's down south). Might not stand posting though.
