Help with a nice hand cream.

Evening all

I am looking for a really lovely hand cream to buy my dm for Christmas.

Her hands have become very dry and I want to get her something that will moisturize them but I want to buy her a nice luxurious brand that she wouldn't usually buy herself.

Has anyone got any recommendations? I'm not bothered by prices either as she deserves something lovely.

L'Occitane is lovely - I have a cherry one which smells divine!

Aveda Hand Relief is the best I've ever used.

MissConductUS · 06/11/2018 20:22

CeraVe moisturizing lotion. It's unscented, lightweight and amazingly effective for dry skin. So not posh, but brilliant.

Rarfy · 06/11/2018 20:22

I love the white company flowers. They usually do a nice set with handwash and handcream in

WhenEnoughIsEnough · 06/11/2018 20:23

Thanks for all the suggestions, keep them coming!

Aveeno relief. It's about £5 a tube. Not posh but it's brilliant stuff. Essential winter kit for my exposed hands. Great for feet too! It sinks in quickly and leaves your hands feeling very soft not sticky or slimy. I have a friend who uses the Clinique one but I don't think it's even half as good and feels icky.
Amazon do it cheaper as an add on item.
Maybe visit all the beauty counters in John Lewis or similar and see if they'll give out samples for you to try and then try to fudge which one your mum will like best?

Another vote for L'Occitane or Molten Brown

L'Occitane Shea butter hand cream is very rich and lovely. Clarinet hand cream is nice too.

Acerbic is definitely the best! But I also love l'occitane - the almond one. The white company flowers one does smell lovely!

I got this one as part of a gift set one Christmas and it did wonders for my hands. I get very very dry cracked hands all through winter but using this really helped.

I also love their protect and perfect face serum as well. All on the pricey side if you buy separately but can get some lovely sets that are good value on the run up to Christmas and they usually have one of the more expensive sets on half price just before Christmas as their star gift.

L'Occitane every time

reluctantbrit · 06/11/2018 21:07

Champneys, small green bottle. Cost a bit bit a but last a long while. No sticky feeling, smells nice and really keeps the hands soft

SillyYak · 06/11/2018 21:10

I love the Clarins Creme Jeunesse one

QuitMoaning · 06/11/2018 21:11

Another vote for L’occitane.

La Roche Posay do some really effective hand creams - the packaging isn't very glam though if you want to give as a gift.

Meandyouandyouandme · 06/11/2018 23:30

I second Aveda hand relief, it smells amazing!

Bacciferous · 06/11/2018 23:30

Crabtree and Evelyn Pomegranate, argan and grapeseed is gorgeous

Icequeen01 · 06/11/2018 23:57

Laura Mercia hand cream is gorgeous. There are a few "flavours" such as almond and creme brûlée but my all time favourite is vanilla. A couple of years ago they did a special Xmas pack which had an assortment of all the hand creams which was a lovely present and lasted ages.

WhenEnoughIsEnough · 07/11/2018 07:21

Thanks for all the suggestions, I've got alot of hand creams to go and sniff out this weekend.
