I'm looking to buy a family member an Elephant Christmas decoration (new or used) like the picture, but can't seem to find any for sale in the UK. Sad Can anyone help?

Have you looked at elephant key rings? You'd probably be able to adapt one into a decoration with a bit of cord or wire.

IceRebel · 02/11/2018 19:10

That's a great idea Ada, but unfortunately I can't seem to find any keyrings that have a bristle type elephant. If you manage to find any please let me know as it would definitely be an option.

I thought I'd found one for you on eBay but it's 30cm long so no good for a tree decoration. The only decoration sized one I can find is from the USA which costs more to post than to buy Sad.

Thank you for looking. I spotted that one, but the postage just makes it too costly. There seems to be loads for sale in America, but most websites won't ship to the UK, or charge ridiculous postage amounts. Sad

Have you tried local garden centres?

IceRebel · 02/11/2018 19:26

Yes i've tried all the local garden centres, and the posh shop in town which has Giselle Graham decorations, but no luck. As cute as squirrels and mice are they're just not going to pass as an elephant. Grin

rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F201779024042

This one is approx £35 with postage from the US?

GimbleInTheWabe · 02/11/2018 19:30

Oh sorry, that's maybe the one you've already seen

ScreamingValenta · 02/11/2018 19:30

They seem to be a 'thing' in the USA so they might find their way over here eventually. You might be lucky at a Christmas market but then you'd be leaving it a bit late if it's to be a present.

IceRebel · 02/11/2018 19:31

Haha Gimble I love said family member, but £35 for a single Christmas decoration is pushing it. Grin

Have you tried esty

GimbleInTheWabe · 02/11/2018 19:33

I've looked on Etsy @NotSoThinLizzy but can't find anything like it. Seems like the right place for something like that though!

What's the bristle brush/elephant link OP, if you don't mind me asking? Family member used to brush elephants clean or something?!

ZoSanDesu · 02/11/2018 19:33

Etsy has 2D, felt or glass decorations for under £10

IceRebel · 02/11/2018 19:34

NotSo No I haven't tried Etsy. I've never used the site before, but a quick search on it for bristle elephant has no results. Not sure what else to search.

IceRebel · 02/11/2018 19:37

The link is said family member is Elephant crazy and has lots of these brush animals on their tree, but no elephant. Maybe she's looked in the past and come upon the same brick walls we're now facing, but it would be lovely to get her one.

They're lovely ZoSanDesu but not what i'm looking for. Trust me if it was just a Christmas decoration of an elephant i'd have sorted it weeks ago. Smile

Been looking- not on the high street have other bristle animals. Reindeers, squirrel and hedgehog, if that helps at all! Perhaps you could email one of the crafters who sell those, and ask for a custom design?

ScreamingValenta · 02/11/2018 19:47

The eBay seller selling the 30cm bristle elephant has a shop which includes Christmas decorations, but no elephant. I am guessing they import them - it might just be worth contacting them via eBay messages in case they are ordering soon or have an elephant decoration they haven't listed.

Join the Bath & body works UK page on Facebook, they get stuff from America to sell back in the Uk someone will be able to help

IceRebel · 02/11/2018 19:58

Bakewell Thank you for looking, that's lovely but is 28cm high x 30cm long so a little too large to be a Christmas tree decoration. Smile

BakewellTart01 · 02/11/2018 20:01

Oh flip sorry!! Imagine the size. Will keep looking :)

IceRebel · 02/11/2018 20:03

Do Bath and Body Works sell bristle Christmas decorations?

Does it have to be a bristly elephant? Petersham Nurseries have a felt one 10x10x5 cm

It’s a Martha Stewart one if that helps?
