Cracking open the prosecco because I am done!
All presents bought and wrapped. Food ordered and cards written.
Feel like sticking the decorations up to celebrate.

Whaaaaat?

No way Xmas Grin

You've left yourself wide open for The Twitch.
Or you'll carefully put your beautifully wrapped gifts aside and forget where you put them

(Or Both)

I’ve not even begun and I’m pleased because I LOVE buying and wrapping gifts but only in December with a festive candle lit, Christmas music playing and some nice mulled wine!

SoyDora · 13/10/2018 18:35

Shock. I have a baby due 2 days after Christmas and still haven’t done any shopping (or any prep at all).
I don’t like doing it before at least mid November, it has to be done when there’s a festive atmosphere and I can listen to Christmas music and watch Christmas films!

Therunecaster · 13/10/2018 18:54

I've been burning the Christmas candle and swigging mulled wine for weeks. I am so excited. Spent years married to man who seemed to take pleasure in spoiling Christmas. This year I'm doing it in style and me and the kids are going to love it... I hope. I would to a #soblessed but the AIBU lot might find out and hunt me down and beat me

Good for you! Hope you and your dc have a wonderful Christmas.

Spam88 · 13/10/2018 19:38

Good work OP :) I'm almost done with my shopping, just a few awkward women to buy for. I'm itching to start wrapping but my storage system leaves a lot to be desired and I think they'll end up looking tatty before Christmas.

hidinginthenightgarden · 13/10/2018 19:51

Very organised! We all have birthdays in October and DH December so don't start buying until we know what the kids have received.
I start with ideas months in advance though. Ran out for DS this year!

SweetPeaPods · 13/10/2018 19:53

Wrapped?! Well done op!
I love sitting down to wrap the presents with Christmas music on and the Christmas tree up etc. Can’t wait!

Kool4katz · 13/10/2018 20:13

OP, I'm impressed. How do you do it?
I hate buying presents and writing cards and leave it till the last minute.
Last year I didn't bother and pretended they'd got lost in the post. 😳🤥

Therunecaster · 13/10/2018 20:30

Kool4katz. I worked out in February how much I needed to save and put a bit aside each month. I started buying bits (got an amazing haul in a charity shop) and got one of those Asda cards to put 20 on each month. I am honestly not a very strong person but I was determined to make this year special. I met an amazing man who has showered me and the kids in affection and it made me see that it was okay to plan for good things to happen. I am very lucky x

I thought I was doing well for buying and wrapping a quarter of my gifts. Cards hadn't even crossed my mind. Well done you.

Bumbumtaloo · 13/10/2018 20:48

I’ve finished shopping and DD’s birthday presents (her birthday is 28/12). Just needs to be wrapped but that’s DH job Grin

Just need to do a food order - I would have don’t that but they haven’t released the Christmas delivery slots to ‘normal’ people yet.

AdoraBell · 13/10/2018 20:59

Bloody well done 👍😁

I’ve started, almost finished DH’s present. But wrapping? Nah, that ones still on the To Do list.

I have booked a grocery delivery slot though.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 13/10/2018 21:05

I've almost finished shopping, the things i have left to buy, i know exactly what it is i'm buying i just need to get them ordered. Haven't started wrapping yet as i'm moving in two weeks and don't want the wrapping to end up tatty in the move so my sisters going to come help me get things wrapped once i'm a bit settled

Lovemusic33 · 13/10/2018 21:19

Haven’t even started, If I start too early I get the twitch and buy more. Waiting until December.

ChippyTea16 · 14/10/2018 17:15

Wow that’s very organised! I like to buy stuff and put it away then take a day off work in early December to wrap everything. I put a stack of Xmas DVDs out and spend the day wrapping and drinking hot chocolate and eating mince pies in peace!

I love choosing my wrapping paper theme too and buying it all ready for wrapping day. Only seen one design I like so far this year so will wait for more to come out!

So excited I love Xmas! Grin

Charley50 · 14/10/2018 17:25

Bitch!

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 14/10/2018 17:28

Well done!

I've started! I never normally start before November so it's a big deal for me Smile

Bloodybridget · 15/10/2018 07:35

Oh god. I have been thinking so much about the Advent calendars I have to make, I'd actually forgotten I'll need to buy presents too. Thanks for the reminder, OP you utterly unbearable Smuggy McSmugface Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/10/2018 08:28

I wrapped the Advent Beauty presents I got for DD (not bought them all yet ) mainly to stop her snooping (she has form !) Xmas Grin

pissedrightoff1 · 15/10/2018 08:32

This thread has made me come out in a sweat of panic !

But, well done OP !

Jackshouse · 15/10/2018 08:39

My goodness that is organised. I want all present bought by December this year.

Wrapping must be done in front of the fire and Christmas tree with mulled wine so it can’t be started until December.

makingmiracles · 15/10/2018 09:02

We’ll done op, like you’re style. I’m most of the way there, only a few more people to buy for but the majority are done, completely finished stocking so will get on and wrap those once I’ve found some nice paper. I hate Xmas buying into late Nov/ Dec, stresses me right out and in our family we have 3 birthdays late Nov/early dec so almost always end up spending bday money on people’s xmas presents, not this year, determined it will all be done and dusted by beg of Dec!!

snowmanshoes · 15/10/2018 10:16

Well done OP and wishing you a much happier Christmas this year. It IS fun to look forward and be happy to do so.
I've bought 90% of the kids gifts and they're stashed up the loft out the way of prying eyes. Youngest has an early Jan birthday so have to think about that too.
Advent calendars bought although really want to get a wine one too but unsure....
Wrapping paper bought but will wrap closer to Christmas
M & S desserts ordered and paid for
Hotels booked and paid for visiting over the Christmas season as dates were finally agreed last week.
Still lots to do but feel pleased with what I have done so far
