How do you decorate your tree and with what colours?

I've never had my own tree, always been at my parents. Getting one this year and I think I'm gonna get mainly silver decorations with a few blue for some colour and use warm coloured lights. Can't wait to decorate. Grin

Red gold and green on my tree. We have one for the kids too and that is a josh mash of homemade and whatever bits they pick out.

Mostly red, gold and green, though if there's something I like I dont mind other colours. I've been colleccting decorations for 35 odd years so can tbe doinf with going with fashion or changing colours each year ...though I did like the look of the white tree with teal decorations.

Ive got loads of filigree brass like decorations, in intricate patterns, there a few years old now and I haven't seen any for sale for years probably too old fashioned

My Mum bought me a beautiful Lalique decoration, thought would get another as it was so lovely until I saw the price Shock

This year we have a new tree topper.... Tinkerbell. We used to have a lovely angel but she squeeked too much

This was ours last year...real tree with white lights, burlap and 'woodland' sort of theme so green, brown, gold, bronze.

This year I'm going to add more lights, more burlap, a few more ornaments (we buy two or three a year, quite a few have sentimental value including one bought on mine and DH's 2nd date).

We're going to have a second tree this year in the kitchen/diner and that will have white decorations.

'Eclectic', meaning a hodge podge with some Scandinavian straw angels among various baubles and items collected over the years, and a lovely paper garland of angels that my Dsis made. There are actually lots of angel ornaments, come to think of it.. I have a lot of handmade things the DCs presented me with over the years too, including baked cinnamon gingerbread men made by DS when he was 4.

Overall it looks white, green, red and gold but there are other colours in there too. I have coloured lights. No tinsel. I have a gold beaded garland.

Ours is terribly "tasteful" (no DC obvs!) with lots of wooden and felt European decorations I've picked up over the years. Basic colour is pale gold with a fair bit of red. White lights.

Then I'll pass one with multi-coloured lights and they look so much lovelier but I can't quite bring myself to do one myself.

Looking forward to all the pics on here this year.

When I first moved in I selected loads of black purple and gold.
Last year I went traditional/scandi lots of red white and grey with colourful traditional kids like ornaments - candy canes, toy soldiers, gingerbread men.etc.
Not sure what I'll do this year - moving into new house by end of November and the living room is a dark blue with copper accenting so not sure where to go with it! Xxx
