When do you start Christmas shopping?

I want to make a start soon. I like to feel organised and love to get it all done by th end of November. I hate shopping and would rather not spend December shopping 😂😂

My Oh thinks it’s too early. He doesn’t panic like me. 🙈

I'm almost done too. Really not too much left to go, and what's left will be bought next month, I think.

I've started putting stuff in my amazon basket and had a bit of a browse in Smyths the other day.

DS1 is getting a tv so that's fairly simple.

I’m going to start when I get paid this month. I don’t have a lot to buy for but have started to see some things I’d like to get for my ds.
It’s never too early in my book

I used to start in August when kids were small, now I start later but try and get it finished before early December. I start making lists on amazon though as I get good ideas and then forget them. Now the dc’s are teenagers I haven’t got as much to buy as they don’t need much, they also change their minds a lot so it’s too risky buying early.

I got some stuff for my dogs.. does that count

Both dc have a Sept birthday so I start in Oct. Food shopping gets done in Dec though. I have booked to see Father Christmas though and will book the panto tomorrow once I can pin down the inlaws.

I used to start end of August. Since my daughter has been born we wait till after her bday in September. Unless we find something on a really good deal. I’m halfway done....

Already started, have to spread the cost

August I write a list of what they will each get then buy it all september/October. I have a time off work during October when the dc are still at school so I like to use that to wrap everything and get it all sorted otherwise I'm confined to evenings when they are asleep which isn't much fun.

I'm usually quite organised. We buy smiths vouchers and put them away for the dcs main present.

Then I have cards bought and dcs smaller gifts bought.

Giving my parents money and I have that saved. Nephews... need to think before I get them. Perhaps good coats and one toy.

Normally in March when we go abroad and I start buying perfumes etc from duty free for my grown up DC. The DGC are easy to buy for as I ask DC what they need. This year it's a token gift of books and clothes and money towards garden toys for next year. I'd rather spend money on things the DGC need and will get use of than buy things they won't use.

I’m done for this year, even have money saved in case one of the DC’s put something random on their list - you can guarantee that will be the only thing they really want.

Just have a couple more bits to get for my dd’s birthday (28/12) and then the food shop - waiting for the delivery slots to be bookable.

I can’t work through illness and DH is my carer so we shop all year to spread the costs our DD’s are 8 (9 at Christmas) and 6 and they have always made their minds up early as to what they’d like, luckily for me.

I also have a little game with myself to get as many presents as possible without paying full price it amuses me and I’m lucky, for want of a better word, and have plenary of time to search for the good bargains.

I start around the end of Oct .

Yeah I have to get my DS birthday presents as his bday is the 5th jan and last time we left it till after an everything he wanted was sold out. Won’t be repeating that mistake again.

I've written my list for the kids and now I'm watching prices but will start about oct half term as that's when the toy sales start. I've brought one already and daughters birthday present (December birthday)

Nov/Dec

I'm starting end of this week when I get paid. last year was the first proper Xmas with my partner and he had 3 kids, we left all the present buying til December and it was a mad rush so starting early this year. Got our own dd together as well now although she will only be 5 months at xmas

My wife usually shops between 1st and 2nd week of November.

All stockings are done.
Picked up a few bits for DS yesterday and have just reserved toys from Argos hoping 3for2 begins tomorrow as that will be dd2 finished!

I started yesterday. Usually about this time of year. Hut inevitably I hide stuff, forget where, forget what I've bought and get worried I haven't got enough and then overbuy at the end.
Perhaps I need to be more organised and maybe make a bloody list this year!!

I've started the kids stockings and have done DS2 main present. Will slowly buy things over the next couple of months so will hopefully be done by the start of December. Have a lot to buy for so like to spread it out as much as possible.

I'm making lists but havent bought anything much yet. DS1's birthday is out of the way now so payday this month I will get the kids things then dribs and drabs for the rest til mid december.
