As above ^^

I want to make a start soon. I like to feel organised and love to get it all done by th end of November. I hate shopping and would rather not spend December shopping 😂😂

My Oh thinks it’s too early. He doesn’t panic like me. 🙈

I'm about halfway done by now :)

GummyGoddess · 22/09/2018 13:54

Do it! DH always thinks it's too early until about 23rd December. This year I am having everything wrapped by November unless I need to buy fresher things like lush bath bombs.

When it's wrapped I shall be prepping and freezing as much food as possible.

JKCR2017 · 22/09/2018 14:04

Haha my OH just doesn’t do the shopping. Last year I started early but I think I started too early as I had no self control and ended up buying DS & DD too much over the weeks leading up to Christmas. Have promised myself to set a budget and stick to it this year.

Are lush bombs not meant to be bought too early? 🙈 a couple years ago I bought their bath bombs for some young cousins of mine (children). I don’t see them very often so I bought, wrapped and give them to my uncle to take up to them pretty early. Now I’m sat here worried that they were ruined by Christmas. Here’s hoping they let their children have them early 😂😂😂

I will probably start thinking about mid November, but I don't have a lot to buy. DH, 2 DC and parents.

Holidayshopping · 22/09/2018 14:15

I wouldn’t buy lush bath bombs too early-if they are left sitting around, they go a bit soggy in the bags and and the bags stain.

YerAuntFanny · 22/09/2018 14:15

I usually start around July but we are going on holiday in October so all Savin been going to that instead.

I'm itching to get started though!

Aebj · 22/09/2018 14:16

I have 2 November babies so we shop in December for Christmas. We have a seperate savings account that we top up through the year so use this money to buy presents

GummyGoddess · 22/09/2018 14:29

I think they're OK for 6 months or so but I obviously want them as fresh as possible! Someone from lush said that they go off and don't work as well so the fresher the better and don't collect them.

NewYearmorestress · 22/09/2018 14:51

already done!

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 22/09/2018 15:05

I started in August.

Spam88 · 22/09/2018 15:13

All the little ones are pretty much finished, I just have a couple of items in price watch that I still need to order. Probably about half done for adults.

tessiegirl · 22/09/2018 15:14

Already started buying for dd! I love it! 😁

RomanyRoots · 22/09/2018 15:16

look out for thrush and other nasties with lush products. My dd used to love them but can't use them now.

I'm usually starting about this time, but can't afford it this year, so will be saving to do a last minute shop.

Justmuddlingalong · 22/09/2018 15:18

I've made a good start. The one's I've bought are wrapped and tagged. DP thinks I'm odd, I think I'm organised. Wink

Mamabearx4 · 22/09/2018 15:21

Waiting for last bits to arrive. Wrapped what i have. Going to start buying food bits october, and get cards sorted. I am really early this year. But i hate stressing and worrying about it plus im in pain so the thought of shopping is a no no. Ive bought mostly off ebay and wish.

AdoraBell · 22/09/2018 15:26

I start around the beginning of September. DC birthdays are August and no later birthdays so I start picking up bits for DC, I have a few stocking fillers and a couple of small presents already.

Food, I get a few things to put away over the next few weeks and then buy things at the Christmas market 😁

If I left it to DH he’d be wondering why we have no food. I do leave presents for ILs to him though.

umpteennamechanges · 22/09/2018 15:39

I buy throughout the year whenever I see something someone might like, especially in sales, etc. Then I hide it away like a demented present buying squirrel.

It's great though....spreads the cost out through the year, you can make the best of sale prices and no last minute rush for presents.

I'll probably get everything bought so far out of the hidey hole soon to list it all out and figure out what is left to buy.

EdithWeston · 22/09/2018 15:43

I see the season opening with the trade village at Burghley Horse Trials, where I start picking up things I see. I probably start actually seeing who is left to do and actually planning at some point in November.

LokiBear · 22/09/2018 16:34

Ive made a good start this weekend. I like to look out for the sales and play a little game with myself to buy everything at some sort of discount. The shops tend to do a range of special offers and discounts over the next few months, so I make lists and then watch and wait. Dd7 wants a kindle paperwhite, so im waiting for amazon black friday but will periodically check in to see if they are discounted in a flash sale. It sounds a bit sad, but it makes for a cheaper Christmas. And yes to being finished by December. December is for fun not shopping.

Alanamackree · 22/09/2018 16:41

January.

StarShapedWindow · 22/09/2018 16:45

I start getting toys in the summer sales. Don’t buy food until December.

StarShapedWindow · 22/09/2018 16:46

I mean I don’t buy food until December, not that you shouldn’t!

Chrisinthemorning · 22/09/2018 16:55

I have started but not done much yet. I will have finished by early December.

Ixnayonthehombre · 22/09/2018 16:56

End of august. That's only 4 pay days until Christmas.

JKCR2017 · 22/09/2018 16:57

Thanks all. This afternoon I have ordered a couple bits for the kids. Internet shopping ftw.

I also picked up a half price hand bag in Sainsbury’s for a relative. Need to do Christmas on a budget this year. Considerably less money to spend this year! 😬

Thanks for the info on lush products. Never actually used them myself (eczema sufferer and I also hate the smell of the shop 😂)
